PIPING MATERIAL SPECIFICATION APPENDIX A
NOTES:
1. All bolting material used in ASME Pressure Vessel Code application and bolting for
ANSI/ASME B31.1 construction shall be ASME “SA” specifications. Bolting for
ANSI /ASME B31.3 applications shall be ASTM “A” specifications.
2. When used in applications where the design temperature is higher than 400°C, bar
shall be made from vacuum-arc remelted steel and stress rupture tests at 650°C shall
be conducted for each heat of steel.
3. Material test reports shall be submitted in which the manufacturer records the results
of the tests conducted. In addition to the test results the documents shall also:
• give the actual impact test results or any other results of the test specifically
