This information defines the safety and information icons used in this publication.

Radiation
This icon is used for conditions that could cause personal injury from radiation.

Laser Warning
This icon is used for conditions when a laser beam could cause injury to a person.

Caution
This icon is used for conditions that could cause injury to a person, or damage to the
equipment or software data.

ESD
Possible damage from electrostatic discharge.

This icon is used for conditions that could cause damage to the equipment.
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) is a primary source of:
• equipment failure
• equipment repairs
A person cannot detect an electrical charge of less than 3,500 V, but 30 V can cause damage
to components in the equipment.

4 of 47 • Check for an ESD warning label before doing any procedure with ESD-sensitive
components. All sensitive components have graphic labels that frequently include
instructions. Use all label instructions.
• Wear a grounding strap when you touch ESD-sensitive components. Check that the CLIP
remains fastened to a ground that has a clean surface with no paint.
• Repair components in an ESD-protection area or use a portable grounding mat.
• When moving ESD-sensitive components from area to area, insert and transport the
components in the special material made for the transport of these components.

• by the customer

SCREWS (100.0 lb)

2 Loosen the 2 SET SCREWS on each of


the 2 SUPPORT BRACKETS.
3 Slide the 2 SUPPORT BRACKETS into
the top of the SUPPORT RAIL.
4 Place the 2 SUPPORT BRACKETS in
the approximate position, and tighten
the 2 SET SCREWS for each.

10 For the FRONT SHIPPING BRACKET:


a. Remove the 4 SCREWS.
b. Slide the FRONT SHIPPING BRACKET toward the back of the system.
c. Install the 2 SCREWS.
11 For the REAR SHIPPING BRACKET:
a. Loosen the 2 SCREWS on the side.
b. Remove the 2 SCREWS in the back.
c. Slide the SHIPPING BRACKET toward the front of the system.
d. Tighten the 2 SCREWS on the side.

12 Remove and discard the 2 SCREWS that attach the SHIPPING BRACKET to the
SLOW SCAN TOWER.
13 Loosen the 2 SCREWS that attach the SHIPPING BRACKET to the ELECTRONIC BOX.
14 Pull the SHIPPING BRACKET away from the SLOW SCAN TOWER and towards the
outside of the system.
15 Tighten the 2 SCREWS that attach the SHIPPING BRACKET to the ELECTRONIC BOX.

Note
To avoid a possible light leak, you must keep the 2 SCREWS that attach the SHIPPING
BRACKET to the ELECTRONIC BOX. The PLATE SUPPORT ASSEMBLY could hit the
SHIPPING BRACKET if you position the SHIPPING BRACKET incorrectly.

Important
You must determine the correct JUMPER to connect to the VOLTAGE CONNECTOR. The
correct JUMPER might not be the same JUMPER removed in the illustration.

16 Locate the 4 VOLTAGE JUMPERS.


17 Determine the correct JUMPER for the voltage at the site.
18 Cut the WIRE TIE and remove the JUMPER.
19 Connect the correct JUMPER to the VOLTAGE CONNECTOR.
20 Check that SWITCH CB1 is set to the right.
21 If necessary, move SWITCH CB1 to the right.
