Distraction.”

Abstract:

The researchers would like to identify a certain factor why students


are having a difficult time studying their lessons. One factor that the
researchers thought of is having a girlfriend. Through this research, the
researchers would identify if girlfriends are a distraction to the students.
Common ages that are having difficult in balancing studies and love life are
from ages
Thesis Title:

“The Effects of having a Romantic Relationship or Girlfriend to Bosconians: a


Motivation or Distraction.”

Introduction:

Raman (2010) stated that being in romantic relationship involves physical contact
which causes chemical arousal to the persons involved and at the same time gain love
and confidence in which they are longing for.

Luqman (2009) said that an adolescent relationship plays an important role to ad


olescents as it develops the ability for committed relationships. Additionally, Pelt(2004)
stated that those relationships help develop personality. She also added that it is a way
of knowing one’s unique
qualities of opposite sex and at the same time choosing the right life partner.

According to Lucas & Curpuz (2007), “quality personal relationship that provide stability,
trust, and caring such as romantic relationship can increase learner’s sense of belonging, self
respect, and self acceptance, and provide a positive climate for leanring.” Thus increase
academic performance.

Thesis Statement:

Researchers would like to investigate on how Bosconians manage their time with
their own girlfriends. This allows the researchers, parents, and Bosconians on how to
correct the dilemma on the time management of every Bosconians who have girlfriends
and how they can balance their time in their own studies.

Research Questions:
1. How many Bosconians had or have a girlfriend?
2. Does having girlfriend inspire Bosconians to do better in academics?
3. What are the recommendations to address the negative effect?
Benefits:

 Bosconians
- The research shall primarily benefit them.
- It shall give the students sufficient knowledge on how a girlfriend
affects their studies.

 Parents
- Through this research, the parents will be knowledgeable on how
girlfriends affects their sons and can be of service to them by advising
them.
 Guidance Office
- The Guidance counselors can benefit the research. Through this
research, they can easily identify if the Bosconians are having a rough
time managing love life to studies.
- The Guidance can hold seminars on time management and gender
sensitivity.

Scope and Delimitations:

The topic of this research is about the effects of having a romantic relationship or
having a girlfriend to Bosconians. The scope of the research covers the number of
Bosconians who have girlfriends. The respondents ranges from Grade 7 to Grade 9. In
this research, we will show how Bosconians deal with their relationship and how it
affects them in their studies. By doing this particular research, parents or the school
personnel can assist Bosconians on how to manage their relationship with their
girlfriends and their studies.

Definition of Terms:

Effect- how it changes a person into something unique.


Girlfriend- female companion which you love the most.
Bosconian- students who study at Don Bosco Academy.
Distraction- diversion of focus in a certain task.
Motivation- the will that gives you the strength to do a certain task.

Method to use:

The research paper is a Quantitative research and under this research is the descriptive
or Survey method of research that will be applied in the study of Ritchie (2013) stated
that by using the descriptive method the researcher will be able to observe a large mass
of target population and make required conclusions about the variables. This research
design is used because through survey, we can identify the number that is needed for a
specific thesis.

The research used survey questionnaires to answer the problem of the study.
Mcmilan and Gogia(2014) stated that data collection are used to gather information,
that then analyzed and interpreted. This data collection method is used for the
interpretation of the data that was collected through the survey. It tallies then interpreted
to be able to answer the research questions of the researchers.
