1. TITLE: Slum rehabilitation in the context of urban sustainability.
2.RESEARCH QUESTIONS:-
 What is the purpose of rehabilitation programme?
 What is the impact of the programme in the urban context?
 How the lives of the people will be changed?
 What are the physical and social problems they face?

3.INTRODUCTION:
Slum rehabilitation is to rebuild the homes, reunite the community and re-
renders the living standards and habits. The multiple factors which contribute to
the creation of slums are economic stagnation, depression, idleness,
immigration, natural holocaust, disputes etc.

4.AIM :
To provide a better livelihood to the people with a healthy and improved quality
of life, by meeting basic requirements without leaving a burden on the future
generation.

5.OBJECTIVES :
 To understand the growth and development of slum areas in the context
of urban sustainability.
 To understand the attitude of slum dwellers towards urban sustainability.
 To understand the economic and social status of each and every
individual residing over there.
 To eradicate all the issues related to poverty.

6.METHODOLOGY:
 Literature review: A detail literature survey will be done related to this
topic. Acquired knowledge, generate ideas about urban village and its
redevelopment and statistics can be achieved by conference proceedings
,reading journals, govt.reports.
  Identification of slum areas; to have a proper study regarding the
problems related to it.
 Site selection: The site should be selected by which the requirements can
be achieved accordingly.
 Case study : A proper case study will be done to meet the various in
parameters like the preferences, social and economical status, type of
livelihood, occupational analysis along with the idea of no.of occupants
living in a housing unit.
 Data analysis : Demographic and market data will be collected. This data
should be reviewed, analyzed and updated as needed.Factual data such as
health issues, educational statistics, occupational and employment
analysis.
 Planning is done in accordance to the preferences of the locality keeping
the urban development in the context of sustainability in mind.
 Function of the project should be properly emphasized and clear to each
and every individuals.
