STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

It has been over 7 years since I identified my interest in Marketing; I had the opportunity of pursuing
Marketing right from my high school. Making presentations on new product launches, marketing plans,
budgeting and designing innovative ideas was a regular activity right from then, the interschool and
extracurricular activities further gave me an exposure to this field. To add on, I had pursued my
graduation in commerce from one of the top universities in India, they had identified my skills on public
speaking and making presentations and they had send me for various business fests in various
universities to participate on the marketing category representing my university including the CIMA
Global challenge where we were one of the finalists. I have cleared an intermediate level of Chartered
Accountancy; this has given me an extra mileage on my career.

I was recruited and selected from the campus to a renowned Advertising Agency in the UAE where I am
currently working as the Marketing Manager. I had joined this organization as an Account executive for
client servicing, but later I started developing new MNC clients like Samsung, LG, Nestle, Coca Cola TCL
and Toshiba, this had a tremendous improvement on the sales of the company, this increased my
reputation within the company and with my clients, therefore within a short span of time I got promoted
to a managerial level. Advertising is a very dynamic field and to keep up to the trend is a challenge as
there are lot of other players in the market, therefore my 100% efforts regardless of the working hours
was required for this job, but not for a single day I had felt that I was working under pressure because I
love what I am doing.

My initial challenge was to completely study the business activities from top to bottom; therefore I had
complete knowledge of the products and services, this helped me in changing the pricing strategy of the
company which had an immediate impact on sales. Additionally the prompt service and commitments
from my side had a positive impact on directly establishing a cordial relationship and reputation in the
market.
Since I am working in an Advertising agency, I handle the marketing personnel of my MNC clients for
their marketing activities; working with them made me realize that I had a lot of room for improvement
in my own areas of operations, I have to clearly understand, relearn and unlearn certain aspects of
marketing to improve my approach, therefore Msc Marketing becomes essential towards achieving
critical goals at this juncture of my career.

While my Bachelors degree did equip me well for the objectives at that stage, a MSc Marketing program
from --------------will enable understanding at greater level of business complexity. The specialization in
marketing will help me learn a range of techniques for managing customer relationships, product
positioning, new product development, media planning and marketing communications. I also hope to
equip myself with advanced analytical tools and techniques that will foster managerial efficiency.
Graduate education in management at ------------will thus help me train my instincts through the case
study method of teaching and develop a structured approach towards refining ideas and developing fail-
proof implementation plans.

The culture of teamwork during the MSc program at ---------- will definitely help me strengthen my team
skills in a cross-national environment and provide significant opportunities for my professional and
personal development.
