2. OBJECTIVES:
- Students will be able to connect to the characters in the story and relate to their
characteristics and differences.
- Students will be able to illustrate their parent and self.
- Students will be able to describe their parent like the baby llama in the story.

3. MATERIALS/EQUIPMENT:
- The book “Is Your Mama A Llama?”
- White sheets of paper
- Crayons and Color pencils

4. TEACHING:
- Read the book “Is Your Mama A Llama?” to the classroom.
- When reading the book, ask engaging questions about the animals such as “What
animal is this?”, “What do you think the baby animal’s mama is going to be?” ,“Why is
this animal different from a Llama?”, etc. These questions will have students think about
their own parents and what they look like compared to the animals.
- After reading the book, have students on a white sheet of paper, draw their parent with
themselves.
- Students will then draw their favorite baby animal with their mama.
- Once both drawings are complete, students will then present both drawings to the
classroom. Students will share the differences and similarities they find between their
parent and themselves vs. the baby animal and their mama.

5. CLOSURE:
- Students learned how animals are different and all have different looking mothers
depending on what animal they are.
- Students were able to relate their own mother with how they look like them compared to
the animals in the story. Also, how there are many different types of animals and their
environment that they live in.
