= The main character is Corduroy, a teddy bear with green overalls and a missing button.
Lisa is the little girl who takes Corduroy back home with her. The setting is a big store and

Corduroy was inside specifically of the toy department store. Lisa spotted Corduroy and

wanted to take him home, but her mom didn’t have enough money and said Corduroy

was also missing a button. Corduroy went on a search for his missing button. He

was not able to find the button and was taken back to his shelf in the toy store. Lisa

comes back the next morning for Corduroy and takes him home. Corduroy is happy

to have finally be in his new home and have a friend, Lisa. The theme of the book

Is fiction and it’s message is true friendship and caring for others.

Explain how the book appeals to children, their interests, developmental levels, fun

illustrations etc. Give specific examples from the book:

- This book appeals to children because it’s fiction and it’s a teddy bear talking.

Children love to roleplay with their stuffed animals so they’ll be interested to see
a bear being able to voice his thoughts and feelings. Lisa also looks to be the age of

a young girl, which is the majority of the reader’s ages. The illustrations are very

colorful and are detailed. Children start to develop empathy, care for others and

friendships with other people. A lot of the times it can be an emotional connection

with a certain stuffed animal or a toy.

It’s a very cute story that shows the true value of friendship and accepting others

for what they look like and who they are.
