Learning from SIP

Market analyzing:
For completing our work or project we were required to analyze the market. The objective of the
market analysis section is to know that the market is large enough to create a plan for a goal. For
this we follow some steps like-Segmentation, potential clients.

Business expansion:
When a firm aims to grow considerably by broadening the scope of one of their business
operations in the perspective of customer groups, customer functions and technology
alternatives, either individually or jointly is called as business expansion. The reason for the
expansion could be survival, higher profits, increased prestige, economies of scale, larger market
share, social benefits. Our project was to identify the companies whose mission and vision
matches with the mission and vision of NGO. This means that they want to collaborate with
these companies in future and expand their partnership. So, we worked for the NGO for
expansion of their business in the future.

Deeper understanding of Livelihood concept:

Through this internship, we can develop our understanding about the concept of livelihood. We
learnt that livelihood comprises people, their capabilities and their means of living, including
food, income and assets.

Role of NGO in developmental process:

This project gives us an opportunity to study the various strategies used in the project and how
those approaches are helpful in achieving developmental goals.

Professional environment:
This internship also made us familiar with the professional environment and atmosphere at work
places. Our work place was full of highly competent, respectful, mature, and accountable
employees working towards a common goal.

Research and analyzing skills:

Research and analysis, in the context of careers, revolves around a candidate’s ability to assess
the situation, gather information, identify key issues and address critical needs. We researched
for the companies and read annual, csr reports of these companies and analyze them and then
shortlisted the companies after all research that was important for this shortlisting process.
Report writing:
In our project, after researching and analyzing the data of the companies we were asked to
submit our work in the form of report. So, during completion of our project we also framed
report for the same project. So during this project we also learned the standard structure of a
report and how a impactful report is framed.
