Introduction
This report is perhaps the most comprehensive listing of International Youth Movements
and International Youth Organizations in the world. It is an essential resource for anyone
organizing international youth programs and conferences. It was produced in
collaboration with many people and many networks. It is restricted to movements and
organizations that have activities (or relationships) on three or more continents, with few
exceptions. Much of the content was written from GYAN's first hand experience with the
organizations and movements. Much of it was also provided by the organizations and
movements themselves.
Motivation to create this guide came from the challenges experienced by the Global
Youth Action Network and TakingITGlobal.org in organizing local youth networks in
diverse cities around the world.
This document should be used in collaboration with other resources to mobilize young
people and facilitate collaboration among movements. For further information visit the

with the mission of Using Art and
Technology to Unite World Youth in
Shared Values and Action. The
program engages youth ages 13-18,

Life-Link Friendship-Schools is an

centre around three main areas of

Realization of these three
interdependent areas and increased
confidence building will lead to
increased Common Security. The
philosophy is based on natural and
social sciences and is neither
politically nor religiously aligned. It
has international contacts in more
than 60 countries worldwide. In
concrete terms youth age 12-19 at
classes worldwide perform small
peace actions that are then reported
to the www.life-link.org Schools &
Actions. Each participating school
has its own page on the website.
Classes can then in a second phase
discuss performed peace actions with
classes/schools in other countries.
There is presently no fee for
participation (June 2004). Life-Link
is connected to the UNESCO Culture
for Peace programme, and strongly
supports the Olympic Truce initiative
(www.olympictruce.org). Life-Link
international office is presently
situated in Uppsala City in Sweden.
