01 Words of Purity (Twayyibah)

َّ ُ ْ ُ َّ ٌ َّ َ ُ ُ ّ َّ َ َ
‫ل َ َالل َِه‬
َ ‫َاللهَمحمدَر َسو‬
َ ‫َلاَ ِالَهَ ِالا‬
There is no god but Allah and Muhammad (peace be upon him)
is the messenger of Allah

َ ْ َ َ َ ْ َ ُ ّ َّ َ َّ ْ َ ُ َ ْ َ
ُ‫كَل َ َه‬
02 Words of testimony (Shahadah)

‫َاللهَوحدهَلاَش ِري‬
َ ‫اشهدََانَلاَ ِالَهَ ِالا‬
I testify that there is no god except Allah. He is one. He has no
partner.

ُ ْ ُ َ َ ُ ْ َ ً َّ َ ُ َّ َ ُ َ ْ َ َ
َ‫وَاشهدَانَمحمداعبدهَوَرسو َله‬
And I also testify that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is
indeed his servant and Messenger.

03 Words of glorification (Tamjeed)

ُّ َّ َ َ َ ّ ُ ْ َ ْ َ ّ َ َ ْ ُ
‫َالل َه‬
َ ‫َالل ِهَوالحمدَل ِ َل ِهَوَلاَ ِالَهَ ِالا‬
َ ‫سبنان‬
Purity belongs to Allah and praise be to Allah and there is none
worthy of worship besides Allah

ْ َ ُّ َ
ُ‫كب َ َر‬ ‫َالل َه َ َ َا‬
َ ‫َو‬
And Allah is the Greatest.

َ َّ ُ َ َ َ ْ َ َ َ
َ‫َولاَحولَوَلاَقوي‬

ْ ّ ْ ّ َّ
And there is no Power and Might

ْ‫ظي َم‬ َ
ِ َ ِ ‫الل ِهَالعلِيَالع‬
َ ِ‫ِا َلاب‬
But Allah, The Most High, The Greatest.

04 Words of Unity (Tawheed)

َ ْ َ َ ُ َ ْ َ ُ ّ َّ َ َ
ُ‫كَل َ َه‬ ‫اللهَوحدهَلاَش ِري‬
َ َ‫َلاَ ِالَهَ ِالا‬

ُ َْْ َُ َ ُ ْ ُْ َُ
There is no god but Allah. He is one. He has no partner.

‫ك َ َ َوَلهَالحم َد‬
َ ‫َلهَالمل‬

ُْ َ ْ َ ُ ْ ُ َ ْ ُ
To him belongs all dominion and to him belongs all praise.

‫يحيَوَي ِميتَبِي ِد ِهَالخي َر‬

He gives life and causes death. In his hand is all good.

ْ‫َو ُه َو ََعلَىَك ُ ّل ََش ْي ٍءَقَدي ٌَر‬

And only he has power over everything.

05 Words rejecting Kufr (Disbelief)

َ ِ‫اللهم َ ِانِيَاعوذَب‬
‫ك‬
Oh Allah! I seek refuge with you

َ َ ْ ُ ْ َ ‫م ْن‬
َ‫َ ِ َانَاش ِركَبِك‬
from that I commit an act that ascribes a partner to you.

َُ ْ َ َ َ َّ ً ْ َ
َ‫شي َئا َوَاناَاعلمَبِه‬
That I know of

َُ ْ َ َ َ َ ُ ْ َ ْ َ َ
َ ‫وَاستغفِطكَل ِ َماَلاَاعل‬
‫م‬
and I ask forgiveness for unintentional actions

06 Articles of faith (brief)

َ‫آئِهَو َِصفاتِه‬
َ ‫اَمنت ََبِالل ِهَكماَهوَبِاسم‬
I believe in Allah as he is by his names and qualities

َ َْ َ ْ َ ُ ْ َ َ
َ‫وَق ِبلتَج ِميعَاحكا ِمه‬
And I accept all his commands

ْ َْ ّ ٌْ َْ َ َّ ّ ٌ َْ
.‫انَوَتص ِ َديقَۭ َبِالقلب‬
ِ ‫س‬َ ‫الل‬
ِ ِ‫اَِقرارَب‬
Declaring with my tongue and believing with my heart

07 Articles of faith (detail)

ُ ُ َ ُ َ َ َ ّ ُ ْ َ

‫الل ِهَوَملآئِك ِتهَوكت ِبهَوَرس ِله‬
َ ِ‫اَمنت ََب‬
I believe in Allah and his angles and his books and his
messengers

َ‫وَاليو ِم ََالاَ ِخ ِرَوالق َد ِر‬
And the last day and fate

َ‫َالل ِهَتعالَى‬
َ ِ َ‫خي َِرهَوش ِره‬
It’s good and it's bad is from Allah the all mighty

ْ َ ْ َ َْ ْ َْ َ
.‫ة‬
َ ِ ‫ثَبعدالمو‬ ِ ‫وَالبع‬
And in coming back to life after death

08 When I wake up I say

َ‫اَ ْلحَ ْم ُدَل َلّهَ َالَّذ ًَْ َاَ ْح َيانَاَب َ ْع َد َماَاَ َماتَنا‬
ِ ِ ِ

ُ
All praise is for Allah who revived us to life after giving us death

ُ‫َ َوَ ِال َ ْي ِهَالن ّش ْو َر‬

ُ

and to him we shall have to return

09 When I go to the toilet I say

ََ ْ َ ُ ُ ْ ‫َ ّ ُ َّ ّ ْ َ ُ ْ ُ َ م َن‬
َ ِ ِ‫ائ‬
‫ث‬ َ ‫ثَوَالخب‬
ِ ‫م َ ِانِيَاعوذَبِكَ ِ َالخب‬
َ ‫الله‬
Oh Allah I seek refuge in you from wickness and wicked things

10 When I come out of the toilet I say

‫َال ِذً ََاذهبَع ِني ََالاذَى‬

َ ‫غفطانكَالحمدَل ِ َل ِه‬
Oh Allah I ask your pardon. Praise be to Allah who relieves me
from suffering

ْ‫َ َو ََعافَان َي‬

ِ
And give me health.

11 When I make wadu I say

ْ َّ ْ َّ ّ ۡ
َ ‫بِس ِمَالل ِه َالرحمَ ِنََالر ِحي ِم‬
In the name of Allah Most Kind Most Merciful

12 When I have finished making wadu say

َ َ ْ َ َ َ ْ َ ُ ّ َّ َ َّ ْ َ ُ َ ْ َ
َ‫َاللهَوحدهَلاَش ِريكَله‬
َ ‫اشهدََان ََلاَ ِالَهَ ِالا‬

I am telling everybody that there is no god except Allah. He is

alone. He has no partner

ُ ْ ُ َ َ ُ ْ َ ً َّ َ ُ َّ َ ُ َ ْ َ َ
َ‫وَاشهدَانَمحمداَعبدهَوَرسو َله‬
And I am telling everybody that Muhammad is indeed his
servant and Messenger

ََ‫َاج َعلْن ْيَ ِمن‬ َّ َ ْ ْ َ ْ َّ ُ ّ َ

ْ ‫َالت َّوابيْ َن ََو‬
ِ ِ ‫ا َللهمَاجعل ِنيَ ِمن‬

َ‫ن‬ْ ّ َ َ ُْ
َ ‫المتط َِه ِري‬
Oh Allah. Make me of those who are repentant and make me of
those who are purified

13 When I put on my clothes I say

ْ َ َ َ َ َ ْ َ َ ْ َ ّ ّ ُ ْ َ ْ َ
َ ِ ‫الحمدَل ِ َل ِهَال ِذًَكسانِيَهَذاَوَرزق ِني‬
‫ه‬
All praise is to Allah who has clothed me

َّ ُ َ َ ْ ّ ّ ْ َ ْ َ ‫م ْن‬
‫ِ َغي ِرَحو ٍل َِمني ََولاَقو ٍَي‬
Without my effort or strength

14 When I wear new clothes I say

ََ‫اَ ْلحَ ْم ُدَل ِ َلّهَالَّذ ًْ ََك َسان ْيَ َماَاُ َوار ًَْبهَ َع ْو َرت ْيَو‬
ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ
َ ُ َ َ َ
ْ‫اَتج ّملَبهَف ْيَح َيات َي‬
ِ ِ ِ
All praise belongs to Allah who adorned me with clothing by
which I cover (hide) my private areas and by which I obtain
beauty in my life.

15 When I look in the mirror I say

َ َ ْ َّ َ َ ْ َ َّ ُ ّ َ
ْ‫خلْق َي‬
ِ َ َ‫َحسنت‬ َ ‫ا َللهمَانت‬
Oh Allah. Just as you have made my external features beautiful

ُ ُ َ َ
‫فح ّ ِس ْنَخل ِق َْي‬
make my character beautiful as well

16 After Fajr & Maghrib prayer I say 7 times

َّ َ ْ ْ َ ّ َ
‫ر ِبَا ِجرنِيَ ِمنَالنا َِر‬

Oh Allah, Save me from the fire of hell

17 After Fajr & Maghrib prayer I say 3 times

ْ َ َ ُّ ُ َ َ ْ َّ ّ ْ
َ‫َبِس ِم َالل َِه َ َال ِذًَلاَيضرَمعَاس ِمه‬
In the name of Allah with whose name

َ َّ ََ َْ ْ ٌ ْ َ
‫ضَولاَفِيَالسما َِء‬
ِ ‫ش َيءَفِيَالار‬
nothing in the skies and the earth can cause harm

ُ‫عَالْ َعلِ ْي َم‬

ُ ْ َّ َ ُ َ
‫وهوَالس ِمي‬
He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing.

18 Additional dhikr for all times

ْ َ َ ّ َ َْ ُ
َ‫َالل ِهَوَ ِبحم ِده‬
َ ‫سبنان‬

ْ‫َاللّهَال ْ َعظي َم‬ َ َ ْ ُ

Glory be to Allah and I praise him,

ِ ِ ِ َ ‫سبنان‬
Glory be to Allah the greatest

19 Another morning Dhikr

ًّ َ ّ ُ ْ َ
‫الل ِهَربا‬
َ ِ‫ت ب‬
َ ‫ر ِضي‬
I am content that Allah is my Lord

ً‫َّوَبالْا ْس َل َامَ ِديْنا‬

ِ ِ ِ
And with Islam as my way of life (deen)

ًّ َّ َّ َ ُ َّ
‫ َن ِبيا‬‫َوَبِمحم ٍ َد‬
And with Muhammad (peace be upon him) as my prophet.

20 Another morning& evening Dhikr

َُ َّ َ َ ُ ّ َ ۡ َ
َ‫حس ِبيَالله َ َلاَ ِاله َ ِالاَهو‬

Allah is enough for me: There is no god but He:

ُ ۡ َّ َ َ ۡ َ َ
ۡ‫ت ََو ُه َو ََر ُّبَالۡشَ ۡرشَال ۡ َعظي َم‬
ِ ِ ِ ‫علي ِهََتوكل‬

in Him is my trust - He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.

ُ َ َ َ َ ّ ُ َ ْ َ َ ُ ْ َ َ ُ َ َّ َ
21 When I greet my family or fellow Muslim I say

‫َالل ِهَوبركاته‬
َ ‫السلامَعليكمَورحمة‬
May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon you.

ُ َ َ َ َ ّ ُ َ ْ َ َ ُ َ َّ ُ ُ ْ َ َ َ
22 They reply

‫َالل ِهَوبركاته‬
َ ‫وعليكمَالسلامَ َ َورحمة‬
And may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon you.

َ
23 When I say goodbye to someone

ّ َ ْ
‫َالل َِه‬
َ ‫ان‬
ِ َ
‫م‬ َ
‫َأ‬ ‫ي‬ ِ ‫َ َف‬
In Allah's protection

24 If somebody does me a good action I say

َ َ َ
ً‫اكَاللّ ُه ََخيْرا‬‫جز‬
May Allah reward you with good.

25 When I sneeze I say

ّ ُ ََْْ
‫الحمدَل ِ َل َِه‬
All praise is for Allah

26 People who hear me sneeze say

ُ‫اللّ َه‬ َ ُ َ َْ
َ َ‫يرحمك‬
May Allah have Mercy on you

27 I will reply

ُ َ ْ ُ َ ُ ّ ُ ْ
ْ‫م‬ َ ُ
َ ‫َاللهَوَيص ِلحَبالك‬َ ‫يَه ِديكم‬
ُ ْ

May Allah keep you in guidance (hidayah) and make proper

your condition

28 When I have milk with my cereal or in a glass I

say

ْ َ َ ْ َ َّ ُ ّ َ
َ ِ ‫ا َللهمَبا ِركَلناَ ِفي‬
‫ه‬
O Allah, grant us blessings in it

ُ ْ َْ َ
َ ‫و ِزدنا َِمن‬
‫ه‬
and grant us more of it.

29 When I see someone doing something well or

when someone has something good I say

ّ َ َ َ
‫الله‬
َ َ‫ماَشاء‬
Whatever Allah decrees

30 When I leave home I say

ّ َ َ ُ ْ َّ َ َ ّ
َ َ‫ب ِ ْس ِم َالل ِهَتوكلتَ َعلى‬
‫الل َِه‬
I depart in Allah’s name relying on him.

ّ َ َ َّ ُ َ َ َ ْ َ َ
‫الل َِه‬
َ ِ‫ولاَحولَوَلاَقويَ ِالاَب‬
And there is no ability and no strength but with Allah.

31 When I get in a car/plane I say

ْ َّ ْ َّ ّ ۡ
َ ‫بِس ِمَالل ِه َالرحمَ ِنََالر ِحي ِم‬

In the name of Allah Most Kind Most Merciful.

َ َّ ُ َ َ َ َ َ َ َّ َ ۡ َّ َ ۡ ُ
32 When it is moving I say

َ ‫سبننَال ِذًَسخرَلناَهذاَوماَكناَله‬
ََ‫ُم ۡقرنيۡ َنَ ََوَانَّا َالي ََربّ َناَل َ ُم ۡن َقل ُب ۡون‬
ِ ِ ِ ِ ِِ

Glory be to Allah, who has subjugated this means of travel for

us though we were unable to subdue it. Behold we are
assuredly to return unto our lord.

ُ َ َ َْ ّ ۡ
33 When I get on a boat

َ ۡ
َ‫بِس ِمَالل ِهَمجرَىها َوَمرسىها‬
In the name of Allah it moves and anchors

ٌ‫ِا َّن ََرب ّ ۡيَل َ َغ ُف ۡو ٌر ََّر ِح ۡي َم‬

ِ
Definitely my Lord (rabb) is forgiving and merciful

34 When I finish my journey I say

َ‫ن‬ ْ ُ
َ ‫اَئِبونََتائِبو‬
We are returning in a state of repentance

َ‫ن‬ ْ ُ َ ََّ َ ُْ
َ ‫عَ ِبدونَلِربِناَحا ِمدو‬
And worshiping Allah, Praising him.

35 When I go to work/business or go to study I say

ْ ُ َ
َ ْ َ ّ َّ ُ ّ َ
ً‫ك َِعل ً َماَنَاف َعا‬ ‫اللهمَ َ ِا َن ِيَأسأل‬
ِ
Oh Allah I ask you for useful knowledge

ً َّ َ َ ُ ً َ َ َ ً ّ ً ْ َ
‫اطي َباََوعم َلاَمتقب َلا‬
ِ ‫وَ ِرز َق‬
and pure sustenance (rizq) and accepted deeds.

36 When I enter the masjid I say

َ ‫ا َللهمََافتحََلِيََا َبوابََرحم ِت‬

Oh Allah! Open for me the doors of your mercy

ّ ُ َْْ َ ّ َ َْ ُ
37 Supplication I make in the masjid

‫َالل ِهََوََالحمد َل ِ َل َِه‬

َ ‫سبنان‬

َْ ْ َ ُ ّ َ ّ َّ
Allah is pure and all praise is to him.

ََ
‫الل َه َ َاكب َر‬
َ َ‫َاللهَو‬
َ ‫وَلاَ ِالَه ِالا‬
And there is no one worthy of worship but Allah. He is the
greatest.

38 When I leave the masjid I say

َ ْ َ ‫َ ّ ُ َّ ّ ْ َ ْ َ ُ َ م ْن‬
َ ِ‫ا َللهمَ ِانِيَاسئلكَ ِ َفضل‬
‫ك‬
Oh Allah! I seek from you your bounty

39 When I visit a sick person I say

ُ‫َاللّ َه‬ َ َ ْ ٌ ْ ُ َ َ َْ َ
َ ‫لاَباسَطهور َ ِانَشاء‬
Do not despair. May Allah remove your sins by this illness

َّ َّ َ َ ْ َ ْ َْ
َ ِ ‫اذ ِه ِبَالباسَربَالن‬
‫اس‬
Oh Lord of the people, remove the pain

َ ّ َ َْ ْ َ
ْ‫َالشاف َي‬
ِ ‫فَانت‬
ِ ‫واش‬

َ ُ َ َّ َ َ َ
and cure it. You are the one who cures.

َ ‫اشفاء‬
‫ك‬ ِ ‫لاَ ِشفاءَ ِال‬

ًَ َ ُ َ ُ َّ ً َ
There is no one who can cure besides you

‫ِشفاءَلاَيغا ِدرَسقما‬
Grant such a cure that no illness remains

I ask Allah, who is the great and the Lord (Rabb)

َ َ ْ َّ ْ َ ْ َ ْ ْ َ
َ ‫شَالع ِظي ِمَانَيش ِفي‬
‫ك‬ ِ ‫الشر‬
Of the mighty throne that he cures you

41 When I hear somebody has died I say

َ‫ن‬ ۡ ُ ۡ َ َّ َ ّ َّ
َ ‫ِاناَلِل ِهَوَ َِاناَ ِالي ِهَر ِجعو‬
To Allah we belong and to him we return

42 When I am ill I say

َ ‫َلاَ ِاله َ ِالاَانتَسبنن‬

There is none worthy of worship besides you glory be to you

ََ‫َالظ ِلميۡن‬
ِ ‫ِانِيَكنتَ ِمن‬
I have disobeyed you.

43 When in physical pain I say

َ َُْ ّ ُ ُْ َ
َ‫الل ِهَوقدرتِه‬
َ ِ‫اعوذَب‬
I seek refuge in the being and power of Allah

ُ‫َ ِم ْن ََش ّر ََماَاَج ُد ََوَاُ َحا ِذ َر‬

from the evil that afflicts me and I that which I fear.

44 I ask Allah not to be sick

O Allah keep away sickness,

‫َالحا ِف ِظين‬
َ ‫َوَاح َفظ َناَفأنتَ َخير‬
and preserve us, for you are the best preserver

45 I ask Allah not to be useless in old age

Oh Allah! I seek refuge with you in case I become so old that I

am incapable

46 If a calamity strikes I say

َ ‫اجعو‬ َ ْ
ِ ‫ِاناَل ِ َل ِهَوَ ِاناَ ِالي ِهَر‬
Definitely we are from Allah and to him we return.

َْ‫ج ْرن ْيَف ْي َُم ِص ْي َبتي‬ ْ َّ ُ ّ َ

ِ ِ ِ َ ِ ‫ا َللهمَا‬
Grant reward in my calamity

ََْ
َ‫خل ْفَل ْي ََخيْ ًرا َّم ْنها‬
ِ ِ ِ َ ‫و َا‬
And grant in its place a good substitute.

47 When I feel despair I say

َ‫ن‬ۡ ّ ُ َ ۡ َ َ ۡ َ َ ُّ ُّ َ َّ َ ۡ ّ َ َّ ُ ّ َ
َ ‫ا َللهمَانِيَمس ِنيَالضرَوَانتَارحمَالر ِح ِمي‬
Oh Allah! I have been touched by injury and you are the most
merciful.

48 When I go shopping I say

ُ ْ ُ ْ ُ َ َ َ ْ َ َ َ ْ َ ُ ّ َّ َ َ
َ ‫َاللهَوحدهَلاَش ِريكَلهَلهَالمل‬
‫ك‬ َ ‫لاَ َِالَهَ ِالا‬
There is no god but Allah. He is one. He has no partner. To

ُ ْ ُ َ ُْ ُ َْْ َُ َ
him belongs all dominion

َ‫وَلهَالحمدَيحيَوَي ِميت‬

ُْ َ ْ َ ُ ْ ُ َ َّ ٌّ َ َ ُ َ
And to him belongs all praise. He gives life and causes death.

‫وهوحيَ َلاَيموةَبِي ِد ِهَالخي َر‬

He is eternal. He will not die. In his hand is all good

ْ‫َو ُه َو ََعلَىَك ُ ّل ََش ْي ٍءَقَدي ٌَر‬

And only he has power over everything.

49 When I go out for a meal in a friend or relative’s

َْ‫اَ َلل ّ ُه َّمَاَ ْط ِع ْمَ َّم ْنَاَ ْط َع َمني‬

house I say

Oh Allah, Feed him for he has fed me

ْ‫َوا ْسقَ َم ْن ََس َقان َي‬

ِ ِ
And quench his thirst for he has quenched my thirst

50 When I am invited for Iftar (breaking my fast)

ُ َ َ َ َ َ َ َ َ ْ ُ َ ّ ُ َ ْ َ ْ َ
ُ‫م‬
َ ‫امك‬َ ‫َالصائِمونَوَاكلَطع‬ ُ َ
َ ‫افطر َِعندكم‬
May the people who are fasting break their fast with you and

ُ َ َ َ ْ ُ ُ ْ َ َ ْ َّ َ َ ُ َ ْ َ ْ
may the good people eat your food

َ ‫الابرارَوَصلتَعليكمَالملائِك‬
‫ة‬
and may the angels of mercy pray for you

a good entry

enter

and we take Allah’s name

َ‫َاللّه ََخ َر ْجنا‬

We rely on our Lord Allah

In the name of Allah and on the given blessings of Allah.

53 In the middle of the meal I say

ََ‫َاللّ ِهَاَ َّولهَوَاَ ِخره‬
َ َ ‫ب ِ ْس ِم‬
In the name of Allah, at the beginning and at the end.

َ َ َ َ َ َ َ ْ َ ْ َّ ّ ُ ْ َ ْ َ
54 After I finish my food I say

‫الحمدَل ِ َل ِهَال ِذًَاطعمناَوَسقانا‬

All praise is for Allah, who has fed us and given us drink
(satisfied our thirst).

َ‫ن‬ْ ْ ُْ َ ََ َ َ َ
َ ‫ن َ َالمس ِل ِمي‬
َ ‫َوجعلناَ ِم‬
And made us Muslims.

All praise be to Allah

57 After Maghrib prayer I say

ّ َّ َ َ َ ّ ُ ْ َ ْ َ ّ َ َ ْ ُ
َ‫َالله‬
َ ‫َالل ِهَوالحمدَل ِ َل ِهَوَلاَ ِالَهَ ِالا‬
َ ‫سبنان‬
Purity belongs to Allah and praise be to Allah and there is none
worthy of worship besides Allah.

َ َّ ُ َ َ َ ْ َ َ َ ُ َ ْ َ ُ ّ َ
َ ‫كبرَ َولاَحولَوَلاَقو َي‬ َ ‫َالل َه ا‬
َ ‫و‬
Allah is the Greatest. And there is no Power and Might

58 If I hear thunder I say

Oh Allah. Do kill
us with your َ ‫ا َللهمَلاَتقتلناَبِغض ِب‬
‫ك‬
anger.

And do not
destroy us with َ ِ‫وَلاَتهلِكناَبِعذاب‬
‫ك‬
your punishment

َ َ َْ َ َ َ
َ ِ ‫وعا ِفناَقبلَذَل‬
‫ك‬
and grant us
safety before
that

ً‫اَ َلل ّ ُه َّم ََص ّ َي ًباَنَّافعا‬

59 When it rains normally I say

ِ ِ
Oh Allah, Make it plentiful and beneficial

60 When it is heavy rain I say

Oh Allah. Let it rain around us but not on us.

‫ام‬ ِ ‫ا َللهمَعلىَالاَك‬
Oh Allah. Let it rain on the peaks and mountains

‫تَالشج َِر‬
ِ ‫اب‬َ ‫ابَوَالاو ِدي ِةَومن‬
ِ ‫َالظر‬
َِ ‫و‬
And the rivers and at the forests

61 When I undress I say

‫َالل َِه‬
َ ‫بِس ِم‬
In the name of Allah

63 If I have a bad dream I say

َ ِ‫ا َللهمَ ِانِيَاعوذَب‬

Oh Allah I seek your protection

From the works of Satan

َ ِ ‫وَس ِياَ ِةَالاحل‬

And bad dreams

‫ف ِانهاَلاَتطونَش َيئا‬
Because it does not exist (because it is in my imagination)

ْ‫َالحَلي َُم‬

There is no god but Allah, the Mighty, the Forbearing

ْ‫َاللّ ُهَ َر ُّبَالْشَ ْرشَال ْ َعظي َم‬

َ ‫لاَ ِالَهَ ِالا‬
ِ ِ ِ

َّ ُّ َ ُ ّ َّ َ َ
There is no god but Allah, the Lord of the mighty throne

َ ِ َ‫َاللهَربَالسمَو‬
‫ة‬ َ ‫لاَ ِالَهَ ِالا‬
There is no god but Allah the Lord of the heavens

ْ َ ْ ُّ َ َ
َ ِ ‫وَربَالار‬
‫ض‬
And the Lord of the earth

ْ َ ْ ْ َ ْ ُّ َ َ
َ‫ش ََالك ِري ِم‬
ِ ‫وَربَالشر‬
And the Lord of the throne of Honour

65 Dua for my family and I to be obedient to Allah

َ ‫ربناَوَاجعلناَمسلِم َي ِنَل‬
‫ك‬

َ َّ ً َ ۡ ُّ ً َّ ُ َ َّ ّ ُ ‫َ م ۡن‬
Oh Allah! Make us obedient to you

َ ‫ة َل‬
‫ك‬ َ ‫وَ ِ َذ ِر َي ِتناَ َامةَمسلِم‬
And make our children obedient to you

ََ‫َوَاَرنَاَ َم َناس َكنا‬

ِ ِ
And show us how to worship you

َ‫َوَت ُ ۡبَ َ َعل َ ْينا‬

And pardon us

َّ ُ َّ َّ َ ۡ َ َ َّ
ُ‫َالر ِح َۡي َم‬ ‫ِانكَا َنتَالتواب‬
Verily you are kind and the acceptor of our repentance
(Towba).

66 Istikhaarah – I seek guidance from Allah when

making difficult decisions

‫ك‬
Oh Allah, I seek
goodness from you
by means of your
knowledge

َ َ ْ ُ َ ُ ْ َ َْ َ
I seek strength from
you by means of your َ ِ‫وَاستق ِدركَبِقدرت‬
‫ك‬
power

َ ْ َ ‫َ َ ْ َ ُ َ م ْن‬
َ‫وَاسئلكَ ِ َفض ِلك‬
ْ‫الْ َعظ َي َم‬
ِ ِ
And I ask you for
your Great Favour
and Bounty

ُ‫كَت َ ْقد ُر ََوَلَاَاَ ْقد َر‬ َ َّ َ

Because you are all
power and I have no ِ ِ ‫ف ِان‬
power to do anything

َُ ْ َ َ َ ُ َ ْ َ َ
You have knowledge
and I have no َ ‫وَتعلمَوَلاَاعل‬
‫م‬
َ
knowledge

ْ ُ ُ ْ ُ ّ َ َ َْ َ
And nothing is hidden َ ِ ‫وَانتَعلامَالغيو‬
‫ب‬
from you

And keep me away
from it َ ‫وَاص ِرف ِنيَعن‬

‫وَاق ِدرَلِيَالخي َر‬
And grant me
goodness whatever it
may be

َ‫ان‬َ ُ ْ َ
And make me َ ‫حيثَك‬
ْ ّ َ َّ ُ
content with it َ‫ثمَر ِض ِنيَبِه‬

67 Dua to ask Allah that I remain steadfast to only

seek Halal earnings

َ ّ ُ
َ ‫ا َللهمََاك ِف ِنيَ ِبحلالِك‬
Oh Allah make the Halal rizq I get from you sufficient

َ َ َ ‫َع ْن‬
َ ‫َحرا ِم‬
‫ك‬
to discourages me from seeking Haram rizq

َ ْ َ ْ ْ َ َ
َ ِ‫وَاغ ِن ِنيَبِفضل‬
‫ك‬

And make me, with your immense bounty,

َ َ ْ َّ َ
َ ‫عمن َِسو‬
‫اك‬
Reliant only on you.

68 I Seek refuge from dependence and disgrace

َ ‫ا َللهمَ َ ِانِيَاَعوذَبِك‬

َّ ْ َ ْ َ ْ َ
Oh Allah I seek your protection

َ ِ ‫ِمنَالفق ِرَوَال ِقل‬

‫ة‬
From poverty and want

َ ُ ْ ُ َ َ َّ ّ َ
َ‫َالذل ِةَوَاعوذَبِك‬
ِ ‫و‬
And disgrace. And I seek your protection

َ‫م‬َ ُْ َْ َ َْ ْ َ
َ ‫انَاظلِمَاوَاظل‬
That I don’t become an oppressor or I am oppressed

69 I Seek refuge from hardship

َ ‫ا َللهمَ َ ِانِيَاَعوذَبِك‬
Oh Allah! I seek your protection

‫ِمنَجه ِدَالبلا َِء‬
From the hardships of every difficulty

َ ّ َ َ َ
‫َالشقا َِء‬
ِ ‫ودر ِك‬
From evil surrounding us

َ َْ ْ ُ َ
‫وَسو ِءَالقضا َِء‬
From a decree that would cause me to suffer

َ ْ َْ َ ََ َ
‫وَشمات ِةَالاعدا َِء‬
And from the enemies becoming happy over my misfortune

ًَ‫َربَّ َناََاَفۡر ۡغ ََعل َ ۡي َنا ََص َبۡرا‬

70 Dua' when I am facing the enemy army

Oh Allah! Pour down upon us perseverance

َ ‫تَاَ ۡق َد‬
َ‫امنا‬ ۡ ّ َ َّ
‫وث ِب‬
and make our foothold sure and firm

ََ‫َوانۡ ُص ۡرنَا ََعلَيَال ۡ َق ۡومَالۡكفطيۡن‬

ِِ ِ
and give us victory against the disbelievers

71 I ask Allah for an honourable death and to be

buried in Madinah near our prophet

ً َ َ َ ْ ْ ُ ْ َّ ُ ّ َ
َ َ‫ا َللهمَارزق ِنيَشهادي‬
Oh Allah when the time of my death comes let my death be in
the process of protecting oppressed people

َ ْ َ ْ
َ ِ‫فِيَس ِبيل‬
‫ك‬
or in the spreading of Islam

َ ْ ُ َ ََْ ْ َْ ْ َ ْ َ
َ ِ ‫وَاجعلَموتِيَفِيَبل ِدَرسول‬
‫ك‬

and let me die in the city of your messenger (so I will be buried

72 Alternative Dua' Qunoot

Oh Allah guide me
amongst those you َ َ‫ا َللهمَاه ِدنِيَ ِفيمنَهديت‬
have guided

َ َْ َ ْ َ ْ ْ َ َ
َ ‫وَعا ِف ِنيَ ِفيمنَعافي‬
‫ت‬
Give me good health
like those whom you
have given good

َ ْ َّ َ َ ْ َ ْ ْ َّ َ َ َ
health

Look after me like

those whom you look َ ‫وَتول ِنيَ ِفيمنَتولي‬
‫ت‬
after

َ ْ َ ْ َ َْ ْ ْ َ َ
Bless me in what
good things you َ ‫وَبا ِركَلِيَ ِفيماَاعطي‬
‫ت‬
have given me

َ ْ َ َ َ َّ َ ْ َ
Protect me from the
evil you have َ ‫وَ ِق ِنيَشرَماَقضي‬
‫ت‬
decreed for me

َ ‫ف ِانكَتق ِضيَوَلاَيقضَىَعلي‬

Verily your order
prevails over
everyone. Nobody’s
order prevails over

you

No one who is in
your care is َ ‫وَ ِانهَلاَي ِذلَ َوالي‬
‫ت‬

And your enemies will َ ‫وَلاَي ِشزَ َعادي‬

find not honour

Blessed and exalted َ ‫تباركتَربناَوَتعالي‬
‫ت‬
are you our Lord

َ َْ ُ ْ ُ َ َ َ ُ ْ َ َْ َ
َ ‫وَنستغفِطكَوَنتوبَ ِالي‬
‫ك‬
and we seek
forgiveness from you
and we repent in your
presence

َّ َ ُ ّ َّ َ َ ُ ّ َّ َ َ
‫َاللهَعلىَالن ِب ِيَمحم ٍ َد‬
َ ‫وَصلى‬
Oh Allah Show mercy
on our prophet
Muhammad (peace
be upon him)

73 The Treasure Troves

َ ۡ َ ُ َ َ َّ َ
َ‫اخذنا‬
ِ ‫ربنا ََلاَتؤ‬
Our Lord! Do not condemn us

ََ‫َِا ۡنَنَّس ۡ َينا‬

if we forget

ِ
َۡ َ َۡ َۡ
‫َاو ََاخط َانا‬
Or for our mistakes.

َ ‫ربناَوَ َلا َتح ِم‬

Our lord! Impose not

ً‫َعل َ ۡ َي َنا َ َِا ۡصرا‬

on us a burden

‫كماَحملتهَعلي‬
َ
َ‫ال ّذ َيۡ َنَم ۡنَق ۡبلنا‬ َ
as you did on

ِ ِ ِ
َ‫َربَّ َنا ََو ََل َاَ ََُت َحَ ّ َملۡنا‬
those who were before us

Our Lord! Do not impose on ِ

َ ََ َ َ َ َ
us

َ‫ماَ َلاَطاقةَلناَبِه‬
َّ َ ُ ۡ َ
that which we cannot bear.

Pardon us ‫وَاعفَعنا‬
ۡ َ
َ‫َاغف ۡطَلَنا‬
Forgive us ِ ‫و‬

And have mercy on us

َ‫َار َح ۡمنا‬
ۡ ‫َو‬

ََ‫تَ َم ْولَنا‬
You are our Protector ‫َا َن‬
َ ُۡۡ َ
‫انصرنا‬ َ ‫ف‬
And give us victory

َ‫ن‬ۡ ۡ ۡ َ ۡ ََ
against the disbelievers.
َ ‫عليَالقو ِمَالكَفِطِ َي‬
74 I make Dua for my parents and the entire Muslim

َّ َ َ َ ۡ ۡ ۡ ّ َ
Ummah

َ ‫ر ِبَاغفِطَلِيََوَلِوالِد‬
ً

ً‫َوَل ِ َم ۡن ََد َخ َلَب َ ۡيت َيَ َُم ۡؤمنا‬

My Lord! Forgive me, and my parents

ِ ِ
and him who enters my home as

ۡ ُۡ َ َ ۡ ۡ ُ ۡ َّ
a believer

َ ِ ‫وَلِلمؤ ِم ِنينَوَالمؤ ِمن‬

‫ت‬

ًَ‫َالظ ِلميۡ َن َ ِال ّاَت َبارا‬ َ ََ
and all the believing men and women

َ ّ
ِ ‫وَلاَت ِز ِد‬
And to the oppressors (Zalimun) do not give them anything but
destruction.

75 If I am in fear of an oppressive government I say

َ ُ َ ْ َ َّ َّ ُ ّ َ
َ ‫ا َللهمَ َ ِاناَنجعل‬
‫ك‬
Oh Allah We place you

ْ‫ف ْي َُنحُ ْورهِ َم‬

ِ ِ
before them

ْ‫كَ ِم ْن َُش ُر ْورهِ َم‬

َ ُ َُْ َ
ِ ِ‫وَنعوذَب‬
and we seek refuge with you from their evil

76 I ask Allah for guidance

Oh Allah. I am asking you for

Abstinence

Chastity

ْ َ
‫وَال ِغنَى‬
And Independence

77 I ask Allah for Taqwah

َ ‫ا َللهمََاَ ِةَنف ِسيَتقوَهاَوزكِها‬
Oh Allah. Give my soul (Nafs) fear of disobeying you (Taqwah)

َ‫ت ََخيْ ُرَ َم ْن ََز َك ّها‬

َ َْ
and purify it

‫ان‬

َ َ ْ َ َ َ ُّ َ َ ْ َ
You are the best purifier

‫انتَولِيهاَوَمولاها‬
You are its Lord and Master

78 I pray for my family and ask Allah (swt) to allow

me to serve as the ruler of the Muslim Ummah

ََ‫َربَّ َنا ََه ۡبَل َ َناَم ۡنَاَ ۡز َواجنا‬

Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives

َ‫َو َُذ ّريّتنا‬

ِ ِ
and our children

ُ ۡ َ َ َّ ُ
َ‫قرياعي ٍن‬
the comfort of our eyes,

ًَ‫اج َعل ۡ َنالِل ۡ ُم َّت ِقيۡ َنَ ِا َماما‬

ۡ ‫َّو‬

and make us leaders of the pious ( the Muttaqeen).

79 The comprehensive dua'

َ ‫ا َللهمَ َ ِاناَنسئلكَ ِمنَخي ِر‬

Oh Allah we ask you of the good

ٌ َّ َ ُ َ ُّ َ ُ ْ َ َ َ َ َ
َ‫ماَسئلك َِمنهَن ِبيكَمحمد‬
That your prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) asked you

ّ‫كَ ِم ْن َ ََش َر‬

َ ُ َُْ َ
ِ ِ‫وَنعوذَب‬
And we seek your protection from the evil

ٌ َّ َ ُ َ ُّ َ ُ ْ َ َ َ ْ َ
ََ َ‫ماَاستعاذ َِمنهَن ِبيكَمحمد‬
From which your prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
sought protection

ُ‫ان‬ َ َ ْ ُ ْ َ َْ َ
َ ‫وَانتَالمستع‬
You are the one whose help is sought

And there is no ability and no strength but with Allah.

About Tanzeel
Tanzeel was established in 2007 by concerned parents in Tower
Hamlets. We wanted an afterschool class specialising in delivering high
quality Tajweed and Hifdh blended with Islamic studies.

We wanted a syllabus that would address issues facing the younger

generation living in The West while focusing on nurturing Islamic
characteristics and morals in our children.

About this book

This book is a summary of key beliefs and supplications selected with
the aim of ingraining the reader with the fact that Islam is a complete
way of life and that Allah should be remembered at all times.

Islam is not a ritualistic religion. It governs all aspects of human

existence. Specifically Man’s relationship with his creator (Ibadat), Man’s
relationship with those around him (Muamalat) and Man’s moral
compass (Akhlaq).
