EXPERIENCE REPORT FOR THE PROJECT Since from start and joining

to until.
- I’m Aung Banyar Win.
- Working here as like the Materials and Geotechnical Engineer, Inspector.
- I’ve been start and join to this project last 6 month ago and from starting to until now,
I did the Inspections for the Bored Piling works to till now.
- For the Bridge construction work is started by the piling works and started from the last
end of June of this year to until.
- Piling works had the numbers of inspections and when start to until casting working
cannot stop and will have to proceed continuously.
- Types of inspections are - - -
(i) ECC for the piles to exact with the Design Location, after that installing the
temporary Casing for the Boring.
(ii) Fabricated re-bar cages (to be according with the approved Design) and
Included sonic pipes also too.
(iii) Fresh solution (Bentonite) test for excavation Purpose to prevent the soil
collapsing when boring for the pile. And Procced the Excavation.
(iv) When boring was done (Reach to require Toe Level).“ KODEN “ ( by Machine
)Test need to check to know the verticality of the bored hole before the rebar
Cages installation.
(v) After satisfy the bored hole verticality, Installation of the Re-Bar cages, by
lapping with the require length as shown in the Engineer approved drawing
when cage to cage joined.
(vi) Finally need to encounter the top of re- bars according with the drawing,
mentioned in it.
(vii) When completed the re-bar cages installation will have to check the Sounding
Depth of the bored hole from Toe level to the Casing top (should not have the
difference with the Excavated ). If necessary or had the dense slimes, will have
to do the Air Surging to remove the sediments or the dense slimes from the Toe
Level.
(viii) When all the above mention things are inspected and the pile is ready for
casting, the lastly check the solution (Bentonite) before casting as per require
specs mention on the checklist typically.
(ix) When all above inspections been done, the pile is ready to cast and the
contractor can prepare for the casting according they summited MS procedures
(x) For the Bored Pile used the C-35 Tremie Mixed concrete. When start the casting
to until the Finishing, QC will have to control the Slump, Temperature, Chloride
testing and Molds taking according with the approved Engineer’s Requirement.
(xi) If happened the problem which will affect to the quality of the piles, the
contractor will have to re do the construction till the pile will be in Quality.
All the above things are regularly doing the inspections for the Bored Piling works
and, in the future, we will be facing the much inspections. Therefore, we need to well know
about the Require specifications typically for the project of every areas. Started from the last
week of October we had the reviewing and Lecturing class, was held by our Korean managers
Mr.CHOI(PM), Mr.HA and Mr.LEE at every Tuesday and Thursday of every week. To well
known about the COP from the AASHTO, ASTM and ACI as well. From starting to until, we
are well known about the concrete which need to use at the specified area and typical structures.
For the whole Project, We will have to well know and need to learn a lot of the specifications
for the inspection works.
In Brief,
All the specifications will not be same one project to another and will have to well
know about the presents require things. So really thanks to our above level for the weekly class
and decided by my self to be improve more and more.
