HACMP Configuration from scratch:

1. Smitty hacmp
a. Extended Configuration
b. Extended Topology Configuration
c. Configure an HACMP Cluster
d. Add/Change/Show an HACMP Cluster
e. Add/Change/Show an HACMP Cluster

Type or select values in entry fields.


Press Enter AFTER making all desired changes.

[Entry Fields]
* Cluster Name [cluster_devesh]

NOTE: HACMP must be RESTARTED


on all nodes in order for change to take effect

2. Smitty HACMP
a. Extended Configuration
b. Extended Topology Configuration
c. Configure HACMP Nodes
d. Add a Node to the HACMP Cluster
e. Add a Node to the HACMP Cluster

Type or select values in entry fields.


Press Enter AFTER making all desired changes.

[Entry Fields]
* Node Name [mumbai]
Communication Path to Node [mumbai-boot] +

AND for Second node also

Add a Node to the HACMP Cluster

Type or select values in entry fields.


Press Enter AFTER making all desired changes.
[Entry Fields]
* Node Name [madras]
Communication Path to Node [madras-boot] +

4. smitty hacmp

c. Configure HACMP Networks
d. Add a Network to the HACMP Cluster
e. Select ‘ether’ from the below list (Adding IP-Based N/w)
f. Enter the highlighted fields as shown,

g. Select ‘tmssa’ from the below list,(Adding a Serial N/w)


h. Enter the fields as shown,

5. smitty hacmp

d. Add Communication Interfaces/Devices
e. The highlighted fields shown below are to add IP-based N/ws
to the HACMP

f. Select Communication Interfaces to


g. The highlighted fields shown below are to add Serial-based
N/ws to the HACMP,

c. Configure HACMP Persistent Node IP Label/Addresses
d. Add a Persistent Node IP Label/Address
e. Refer below screens will do the same,
f. Do the same for the second node,

7. Now the Topology configuration for the cluster is complete and


we can move further with the Resource Group configuration,

8. Goto Smitty Hacmp


a. Extended Configuration
b. Extended Resource Configuration
c. HACMP Extended Resource Group Configuration
d. Add a Resource Group
e. Do the Following selections as shown below,
For the Second Resource Group as well,

f. Now goto ‘HACMP Extended Resources Configuration’


g. Configure HACMP Application Servers
h. Configure HACMP Application Servers
i. Add an Application Server
j. Add the below highlighted fields to configure it,

And for the second RG as well,

k. Now goto ‘HACMP Extended Resources Configuration’


l. Configure HACMP Service IP Labels/Addresses
m. Add a Service IP Label/Address
n. Select the below option,
Service-IP for the Second RG as well,

o. Now goto Smitty Hacmp


p. Extended Configuration
q. Extended Resource Configuration
r. HACMP Extended Resource Group Configuration
s. Change/Show Resources and Attributes for a Resource Group
t. Select as shown,
Enter the highlighted fields as shown,
The same for the 2nd RG,

9. Now the Cluster configuration is complete,


10.First verify the Cluster configuration as shown below,
11.After verification completes successfully do the synchronization as
shown,

12.After successful synchronization you can start Cluster services on


both the nodes but serially.

13. At first when you start the Cluster services it will take some time to
start as the Cluster verifies the configuration and cluster state prior to
starting the services.

14.Hence be PATIENT.
