Online and offline modes, parameter sets Page 1 of 3
You can toggle between online- and offline using the View menu - this is only effective for the active parameter window.
The operator control interface (screen) does not change. The remaining drives keep their previously selected mode, so that some of the drives can be
operated online, and the other drives offline.
Online mode
Online operation with the drive is possible if communications have been established and function between the PC and drive. This means that all of the
parameter changes are immediately and directly effective in the drive, actual values can be monitored, and setpoints can be transferred to the drive.
Further, in the online mode, you can also generate a parameter set by uploading or by downloading a parameter set into a drive.
Offline mode
In the offline mode, parameter settings are made in a File , i.e. a parameter set corresponds to a file. Offline operation is always possible.
Offline mode
In the offline mode, there is no communications link to the drive. Data transfer is not possible. This is displayed by the following symbol in the unit
status bar:
Ø All of the parameters are not read from the drive, but from a parameter set file.
Ø It is not possible to edit process data ( enter setpoints and control commands, actual value sensing).

Result: The actual parameter values are now supplied from the selected file. Offline mode is shown in the title line and after it, in brackets, the name of
the currently opened parameter set file.

Result: The actual parameter values are now supplied from the selected file. The title line indicates the name of the new parameter set file.
In order to save or copy a parameter set file which is opened, proceed as follows:
Ø If the function bar is displayed, click on the Save parameter set button
Or
Or
Ø select the menu command File > Save as... and then enter a file name.
NOTE:
For offline parameterization, just like in the online mode, the permissible limit values ( minimum and maximum values) are monitored. Those parameters,
whose limits depend on the rated drive output, are an exception. The online and offline modes can be separately set for all of the drives which are open.
This means, that some of the drives can be parameterized online and the other drives, parameterized offline.
Online mode
In the online mode, there is a communications link to the drive, so that data transfer is possible. This is displayed by one of the following symbols in the
unit status bar:
Ø Parameter changes are written into the drive where they become immediately effective.
Ø In the o nline mode ( RAM) , changes made in the drive are lost after a power failure.
Ø In the online mode ( EEPROM), changes are kept even after a power failure .
Ø It is possible to read and write process data (setpoints, actual values, control commands,...).
In this case, the link between DriveMon and the drive must be established (refer to the unit status bar).

Ø select the menu command View > Online (RAM) or > Online (EEPROM)
The online and offline modes can be separately set for all of the drives which are opened. This means that some of the drives can be parameterized
online and the other drives offline. If the link to the drive is interrupted, the online mode is still displayed in the title line although communications with
the drive are not possible. This is displayed in the unit status bar using the following symbol:
After the connection has been re-established, communications are automatically re-established.

What is a parameter set? Page 1 of 7
A parameter set is a file, which contains a number of parameter numbers with parameter values. In the offline mode, such a parameter set behaves, on the DriveMon screen, similar to a drive which is
connected online: Parameter values can be read-out and written in.
A parameter set can contain all of the parameters of a drive type or only just a few parameters.
You can generate as many parameter sets as you require, save them under filenames which you can define, print and write them into the drive converters (download).
Ø Generating parameter sets based on the factory setting of the current drive converter,
Further, you can copy existing parameter sets (and save them under another name).
Caution: Parameter sets are always assigned to one drive converter type. Only parameter sets of the same drive converter type are located in a parameter folder in SIMATIC- or Drive ES
Manager (e.g. MASTER DRIVES MC) and the same software version (e.g. 1.3).
NOTE:
If you generate a new parameter set in DriveMon, you can enter a file name via a file selection box. The name of the first parameter set is entered in the current chart folder as default. If you generate a new
parameter set in the SIMATIC- or Drive ES Manager, then initially, a default name is specified ("parameter set ( consecutive No.)").
In both cases, you can subsequently change the parameter set name.
A parameter set (based on the factory setting), contains all of the parameters and parameter values which are set in a drive converter in the factory. This also includes parameters which cannot be changed
(parameters which can only be read). If you work with such a file in the offline mode, you will see the parameter values on the DriveMon screen, which were set when the drive converter was shipped from the
plant or a drive converter where the factory setting has been re-established.
In this case, you can change any parameters offline (parameters which can be written into) and then subsequently transfer the revised file online to the drive converter (download).
Proceed as follows:
Ø Select the menu command File > New > Based on the factory setting. You can save the parameter set, which was previously opened, in the dialog box which
opens, or overwrite it with the new parameter set.
Ø In both cases, you can then enter the new file name in the "Object name" field in the file selection box which is displayed.
Initially, an empty parameter set does not contain any parameter values. If you work offline with such a file, you will see five question marks (?????) on the DriveMon screen instead of the
parameter values.
You can enter any parameter values, which then replace the question marks. The parameter set then contains the number of parameters which you entered. This means that a subsequent download is especially
effective.
You can generate an empty parameter set with either SIMATIC-/Drive ES Manager or with DriveMon.
Proceed as follows:
Ø In the SIMATIC Manager, select the parameter folder of the required drive (using the right-hand mouse key, click (1x) on the parameter folder).
Proceed as follows:
Ø Select the menu command File > New > Empty parameter set. You can then save the previously opened parameter set in the dialog boxes which open, or you
can overwrite using the new parameter set.
Ø In both cases, you can enter the new file name in the " Object name" field in the file selection box which is displayed.

Proceed as follows to change parameters (" yellow" parameters (read-only parameters) cannot be changed ):
Ø Using the mouse and the display bar on the right-hand side of the window, select the section from the list, in which the required parameter is located.
Ø Using the left-hand mouse key, double click at any position in the appropriate line of the table.
A window then opens where the parameter can be changed.
Ø If the parameter to be changed is a "selection parameter", select the new value from the test list of possible parameter values and press OK.
Ø If the parameter to be changed is a "Setting parameter", enter the new parameter value in the "new value" input field and press OK. Please observe the offline
mode in order to monitor the limit values to be maintained ( output-dependent parameters) .
Alternatively, you can also select the parameters from the keyboard:
Ø Select the required line of table using <Screen up /down> or <Cursor up /down>
Or
directly select the parameter number by entering the number in the decimal format. Example: To select P591 select keys
5, 9, 1 one after the other. U501 should be selected as 2501. rxxx Visualization parameter < 1000 Pxxx Setting parameter
< 1000 dxxx Visualization parameter ³ 1000 and < 2000 Hxxx Setting parameter ³ 1000 and < 2000 nxxx Visualization
parameter ³ 2000 and < 3000 Uxxx Setting parameter ³ 2000 and < 3000 cxxx Visualization parameter ³ 3000 and < 4000
Lxxx Setting parameter ³ 3000 and < 4000
Ø Then press <RETURN>. The window then opens so that the parameter value can be changed .
Ø To open/close the view to the index entries, press the <+> key in the numerical block of your keyboard.
DriveMon can compare two existing parameter sets. The result of the comparison is then contained in a new parameter set.
Description:
All of the parameter entries of the actual parameter set (APS) are compared with the appropriate entry of the parameter set to be compared (VPS). The actual PS (APS) is always that parameter set whose
name is entered in the DriveMon title line or in the title line of the actual parameter window (if several parameter sets have been simultaneously opened).
1. Every parameter entry of the APS (P-No./Ind./value) is compared with the appropriate entry in the VPS, if this is contained there. If two values differ, then the APS value is always entered in the result file.
1. If the appropriate entry does not exist in the VPS, then the APS value is entered into the result file.
1. VPS entries (parameter number/index/value), which are not contained in the APS, are not entered into the result file.
Prerequisite
Ø The drive is in the offline mode ( if this is not the case, the menu item is gray and cannot be selected)
Proceed as follows :
Ø Select the required actual parameter set ( APS) with File > Open...
Ø Select the comparison parameter set ( VPS) using the menu command File > New > Compare...
A file selection dialog box ("Open file") opens with all of the parameter sets which exist for the selected drive converter type. Select in this, a comparison
file, and click on the "Open" button.
Ø An additional file selection window then opens ("new file"). Enter the required name of the result file generated as a result of the comparison there (in the "object
name field").
Recommendation: You can best view the contents of the result file using the following function "Free parameterization" .
Ø You can print all of the parameters in the parameter set (if required, more than100 pages!).
Ø Only print those parameters of the parameter set, which differ from the factory setting.
The actual parameter set which is printed, which is used for the offline mode (i.e. the name which is entered in the title line). You will see the file name, date and time

of the print-out, drive converter type and its software version as well as the user name of the drive in the header of the print-out.
Prerequisite:
Ø The drive is in the offline mode ( if this is not the case, the menu item is gray and cannot be selected )
Proceed as follows:
Ø Select the menu command File > Print > Complete parameter set... or File > Print > Only changes...
Result:
The printer type is selected and the settings made via the WINDOWS menu Start > Settings > Printer
In the online mode, you can generate a parameter set by uploading (reading) the currently set parameters in the drive converter.
2. Only reading the parameters which differ from the factory setting (" changes"), if the actual drive converter type supports this functionality.
3. Updating an existing parameter set, by only reading those parameters/indices, which are contained in the existing parameter set.
Prerequisite:
Ø The drive is in the online mode (if this is not the case, the menu item is gray and cannot be selected)
Proceed as follows:
Ø In the file name selection box which opens, select a file name for the parameter set to be generated and then press the " Save" button.
Result:
The parameter set is read (uploaded). When uploading, the progress bar is displayed. An info window is displayed after upload has been completed which tells you whether all of the parameters have been
read error-free or individual parameters were not able to be read. If required, you can obtain a list of parameter numbers which were not read by pressing the " Details" button. If any communication errors
(indicated in the list by "KommFehler") occur during the read operation, reading of the affected parameter sets can be repeated.
In the online mode, you can write a parameter set into the RAM memory of a drive (download).
If the drive converter supports the function, the parameter set can also be directly saved in the EEPROM memory of the drive converter.
When downloading, the actual parameter values in the drive converter are overwritten by the parameter values in the parameter set.
In the online mode, you can transfer a parameter set into the selected drive converter (download).
1. Transferring the parameter set into the RAM memory of the drive converter.
2. Transferring the parameter set into the RAM memory, and then additionally saving them in the EEPROM memory of the drive converter (non-volatile).
Prerequisite:
Ø The drive is in the online mode (if this is not the case, the menu item is gray and cannot be selected)
file:///C:/Users/fagro/AppData/Local/Temp/~hh4192.htm 10/09/2019
What is a parameter set? Page 4 of 7
Proceed as follows:
Ø Select one of the menu commands File > Download > Write [RAM]... or File > Download > Save [EEPROM]...
Ø In the file name selection dialog box which opens, select the file name of the parameter set which you wish to write into the drive converter or into the technology
module and press the " Open" button.
Ø If the selected parameter set and the identified device have the same device type and software version, the download operation is started immediately. A dialog is
otherwise displayed showing the differences between device types and software versions. You can start the download from this dialog by selecting button
"Download" or " Convert". If you select the "Convert" button, the parameter set is converted to the higher software version of the identified device before it is downloaded. (see also Uploading /
downloading via the command line )
Result:
The parameter set is downloaded. A progress bar is displayed when downloading. An info window is displayed after downloading which tells you whether all of the parameters were correctly downloaded or
individual parameters were not able to be downloaded. If required, you can obtain a list of the parameter numbers which were not downloaded by pressing the " Details" button.
In this list, each parameter task, which was not able to be executed, is entered in the form Parameter number [Index] [Error number]. The significance of these error numbers is described in the Compendium
MASTER DRIVES, Section 8.1.2 Communications USS protocol or Section 8.2.3 PROFIBUS.
Example: F-No. 17 means " Task was not able to be executed due to the operating status"
If any communication errors (indicated in the list by "KommFehler") occur during the write operation, writing of the affected parameter sets can be repeated.
Using command line parameter –uu it is possible to program an automatic "Update Parameter Set" upload operation which starts automatically with the DriveMonitor. One of the online
parameters –oe or –o must be set at the same time for this purpose.
Using command line parameter –q it is possible to program the DriveMonitor to close automatically after the started operation (download, upload, script execution) has been successfully completed.
Example:
p7vrvisx test -oe --uu -q The DriveMonitor opens parameter set test.dnl, then goes online to the EEPROM of the device and, after successful identification, starts an
upload operation to update the parameter set test.dnl. If this process is successful, the DriveMonitor closes automatically.
Downloading
Using command line parameter –de or –d it is possible to program an automatic download operation to the EEPROM or RAM of the device which starts automatically with the DriveMonitor.
One of the online parameters –oe or –o must be set at the same time for this purpose.
Example:
p7vrvisx test -oe -d The DriveMonitor opens parameter set test.dnl, then goes online to the EEPROM of the device and, after successful identification, starts to
download the parameter set test.dnl.
Output-dependent parameters
The permitted limit values (minimum- and maximum values) of several parameters depend on the maximum output of a drive (e.g. rated current, rated output).
In the Offline mode, DriveMon does not know the maximum output of the drive in which the parameter set file, edited offline, is downloaded. Thus, in the offline mode, DriveMon does not monitor the limit
values of output-dependent parameters. The drive itself monitors the limit values of these parameters in the online mode when downloading the parameter set.
Free parameterization
Using the Free parameterization (Free Parameterization Plus = FPP) you can
Ø create and save individual parameter tables in online or offline operation. All of those tables you can re-open, modify, or remove at any time;
Ø create parameter sets (which can be downloaded into the drive) including individual composed parameters;
file:///C:/Users/fagro/AppData/Local/Temp/~hh4192.htm 10/09/2019
What is a parameter set? Page 5 of 7
Ø get an overview over all parameters contained in the parameter set, which is the basis for the offline operation. This is an advantage if the parameter set contains
only a smaller quantity of parameters, compared to the complete set of parameters.
Free parameterization comprises two elements: The Explorer in which the lists are administered and the previously existing table in which parameters and comments can be entered.
Every node can contain a parameter list. Any node which does not contain one is marked by the symbol. A node which does contain a parameter list is displayed
Commands:
Import a file below the selected node. A file with the name Import is created for this purpose.
Set up a new, empty node. You can use the Ins key as an alternative. Nodes need not contain a name.
file:///C:/Users/fagro/AppData/Local/Temp/~hh4192.htm 10/09/2019
What is a parameter set? Page 6 of 7
The top line of the Free parameterization table contains (from left to right):
Ø The name of the FPP list (in this case " Demo 2"),
Ø Create a new FPP list under "Storage in parameter set" or under "System" (using the Ins key or shortcut menu) in the "Parameter" view,
Ø You can now edit the list freely using the following functions:
Ø The FPP lists from the "Storage in parameter set" are stored explicitly when the parameter set is saved in the DNL file. The FPP lists from "System" are stored
explicitly in the FPP system file according to device type when the device is closed. When an FPP list is closed, a prompt appears asking whether the FPP list is to be stored. When you confirm with
"Yes", the list is stored only temporarily. The FPP lists are not saved to the DNL file or the FPP system file until the DNL file is next saved or the drive is closed.
Ø You can re-open and modify saved FPP lists at any time. To do this, you only need to select the relevant list in the "Parameter" view.
Notes:
Ø Lines are always inserted in front of the current parameter, i.e. if an indexed parameter is open, the line is not inserted in front of the current line, but in front of the
1st index of the parameter.
Ø You can only delete individual lines of an indexed parameter if they were entered individually.
Ø A new line is always in edit mode immediately after insertion, an existing line can be switched to edit mode. In edit mode, you can enter the desired parameter
number(s) or, alternatively, a comment text in the field under "P. No.". Terminate your input with ENTER in each case. You can select the following inputs:
1) Parameter number
3) Comment text
(Non-existent parameters/indices are also treated like a comment).
file:///C:/Users/fagro/AppData/Local/Temp/~hh4192.htm 10/09/2019
What is a parameter set? Page 7 of 7
Ø Using the "Free parameterization" define a parameter table including the desired parameters, and enter the desired values in the "Parameter value" column.
Ø Select File > Save as... and store the parameter set under a matching name.
Ø In offline operation you can modify this parameter set. However, before you can download the modified parameter set, it must be saved once again ( File >
Save).
If you opened a parameter set in the offline mode, where you don't know which and how many parameters it contains, you can obtain a precise overview of the parameter set by clicking on the "list all
offline parameters" button.
Application example:
You have created a new parameter set by comparing two parameter sets. You now obtain an overview of the new parameter set using this button (i.e. about the differences between the parameter sets
which have been compared).

Tool interface
The tool interface is implemented on MASTERDRIVES MotionControl units from version V1.63 onwards, on MASTERDRIVES Motion Control Performance II units from version
V2.10 onwards and on MASTERDRIVES VectorControl units from version V3.33 onwards.
The tool interface is an interface with two channels, one for setpoints and one for actual values. How these channels are assigned is predetermined by the drive and the Drive
Monitor/DriveES Basic tool. These channels can be used to operate the drive in speed or position control mode without alterations to the configuration.
The actual value channel can be read out at any time, e.g. for diagnostic purposes. The setpoint channel can be accessed for reading only when you have "assumed the master control".
The tool interface allows data to be transferred at a faster rate, regardless of the communication interface type, which means that it can be displayed with an optimum refresh
frequency. The maximum possible reaction time of the drive control panel depends on the baud rate of the communication interface and the number of nodes connected.
The control signals and setpoints at the tool interface are routed to the tool interface from BICO connections at predefined coupling points and are thus largely independent of the
existing BICO interconnections This arrangement ensures the continued flexibility of the BICO system as regards plant and machine configurations and avoids unnecessary changes
to the drive parameters when the drive is being controlled via the Drive Monitor/DriveES Basic tool.
The diagram below shows how a signal would be switched at a coupling point, e.g. in the case of the OFF2 command in control word 1 (compare function diagram 180, columns 1
and 2, top; coupling point downstream of P555):
Apart from the points specified in the Note window which is displayed when you assume master control, the following requirements must be met for safe operation using the process data
specification method:
Ø The closed-loop control structure as defined by the factory settings (defaults) has not be altered for the setpoint and actual value channels (setpoint
preparation FP310/320, closed-loop position and speed control FP340/360 and torque limitation FP370).
Ø Closed-loop current control mode (P290=0) must be selected for positioning operation.
file:///C:/Users/fagro/AppData/Local/Temp/~hh41FA.htm 10/09/2019
Drive control panel Page 3 of 3
Further notes:
Ø The parameterized ramp-up and ramp-down times for the ramp-function generator (FP320) are operative.
Ø The OFF2 function via P556, P557 and "Safe standstill" is operative in parallel to the OFF2 command on the tool interface.
Ø The OFF3 function via P559 and P560 is operative in parallel to the OFF3 command on the tool interface.
Ø The Acknowledge function via P565, P566, P567 and PMU is operative in parallel to the Acknowledge command on the tool interface.
The following table shows an overview of the control signals on the tool interface and the coupling points to the BICO structure in the function diagrams:

Load standard application Page 1 of 2
You can load preprogrammed system applications for a particular drive type and view information about the application in the Standard Application window. All system applications are stored under the System node and
cannot be changed by the user.
However, you also have the option of creating and managing your own applications. An application is embodied by a script file. These files are managed in the User area.
You can only use script files from the Windows standard file management system as applications, i.e. you cannot use scripts in a Step7 project. If you want to use S7 scripts, you must export them first before assigning them to an
application.
If an application is selected, its script file assignment and the user description stored in the script is displayed in the description field.
In the case of system applications, a general description is displayed if available. The description can be language-specific.
This window can also be accessed from the "Assisted commissioning F01 technology" and in the "Basic positioner operator screens".
General commands
Loads an application to the converter. The command is available only if the DriveMonitor is linked online to a converter and a script file is assigned
to the selected application.
This command is available if an application is selected and the assigned script file contains information links (see Script Editor).
In the user area you can open the script editor directly for an application to which a script file is assigned in order to edit the script, make information links
or enter a description.
- Saves user applications. Changes are then also transferred to standard application windows of other drives which are open at the same time.
- Imports a previously stored application file. Imported applications are integrated in an "Application" import from where they can be
dragged and dropped, deleted or renamed.

Graphic diagnostics
Displays a graphic overview of the drive in the form of a function diagram with up-to-date converter values.
Bus Diagnostics
The upper section of the Profibus diagnostics screen contains important information about the Profibus module and the communication parameter settings.
The lower section displays the sent and received process data. This display is dependent upon the selected telegram type.
When "No telegram type" is selected, all 16 process data are displayed.
When a telegram type is selected, only those process data defined according to the Profidrive profile are displayed and named.
The values of the process data can be displayed in each case in hexadecimal, decimal, percentage and binary form. To select one of these, click on the "hex" field.
Trace Functions
The trace allows you to parameterize and evaluate real-time recordings of drive measured data.

Calculating the trace recording time Page 1 of 3
MASTERDRIVES MC has a trace memory of 8 kbytes (8 kbytes = 8192 bytes = 4096 words (2 bytes = 16 bits)).
The MASTERDRIVES MC Performance II has 16 kbytes of trace memory (16 kbytes = 16384 bytes = 8192 words). The calculations below are based on a
MASTERDRIVES MC: The available memory is always fully utilized, i.e. recording takes place until 8 kbytes of information are placed in the memory.
The number of recording points carried out per channel can be calculated as follows:
Recording time (in ms) = number of measuring points * recording interval (in ms)
Example:
The settings indicated on the previous page are used for the trace.
file:///C:/Users/fagro/AppData/Local/Temp/~hhE7AB.htm 10/09/2019
Calculating the trace recording time Page 2 of 3
The graph shows the setpoint speed and actual speed curves when a motor is started. The speeds are recorded as 16 bit values in the trace diagram.
= 2 * 4.0/P340 * 2048
If a recording time of 12 seconds is to be set for the above example, calculation is as follows:
Recording time: 12 s
12 s / 2048 = 5.86 ms

Device Identification Page 1 of 1
Device Identification
Possible errors
a) The identified device does not match the configured device.
The configured device type does not match the identified device type.
b) The versions of the configured device and the identified device do not match!
The configured device version does not match the identified device version.
c) Identification is ambiguous!
Several devices were identified.
There are two cases in which ambiguous identification can occur:
- A basic unit is connected with a T400, and neither the basic unit nor the T400 is configured. The device identification will
recognize both the T400 and the basic unit.
- A SIMADYN D unit is connected but not configured in the SIMATIC Manager / Drive ES Manager . Since the parameters of devices
belonging to the SIMADYN D family are freely assignable, parameters corresponding to a monitoring parameter of other families of
devices can also be assigned, leading to false identification.
Remedial measures
Re. a) Configure the device that has been identified.
For this purpose, a drive must be entered in the SIMATIC Manager / Drive ES Manager with the same type and the same bus address as the
device identified. Care must also be taken to ensure that the version is the same as the version of the device identified (Error b). Re. b)
Conclusion
By clicking on OK, the user acknowledges that DriveMonitor should try to interpret the drive data with the base data of the configured device.

Script files Page 1 of 8
Script files can be used to configure the parameters of system units. A script file is a pure text file and must be saved with the extension . SSC ( e.g.
DREHREG.SSC).
To edit script files, an editor is included that supports the user with search and commentary functions and with color highlighting of the syntactical parts of the script
language. The user interface is similar to that of other common editors. In addition, the editor recognizes script commands, reformats them and highlights them in color.
A compiler for checking the correct content of commands, e.g. number and type of arguments, is not included with the editor. Similarly, there is no debugger for
checking script execution and error searching.

Script files
By means of script files you can set parameter configurations for the devices of the MASTERDRIVES series.
A Script file is a pure text file, which must possess the file name extension * ssc. The Script file executes individual instruction, which serve
the parametrization of devices by means of simple instruction syntax. (the Script files can be created with simple text editors e.g.
WordPad.)
With the introduction of script file functionality arises for project engineering and line-up substantial advantages, which are to be seen as
follows:
- parameters can be arranged in any order and comments are insertable any place.
- by jump functions (CALL Instruction) function modules can be called to minimize the sources of possible errors and planning costs.
¨ interactive communication e.g. by MSG / LOCALMSG instruction (guidance of the customer, final customer)
¨ States of the inverter can be caused, monitored and waited for; as well as starting " background calculations " in
the inverter.
The commands are interpreted line by line, and are not case-sensitive. Comments can be introduced with REM
or ; and may be placed at the beginning or end of a line.
A line to be interpreted consists of a command as well as arguments and can appear as follows: <Tab><Command
><1st Argument><Space><2nd Argument> etc.
WAIT 1 0 5 (Meaning: Wait until inverter is in mode adjustment)
„Tab" and „Space" are permitted both as separators between the commands or arguments and at the beginning of a line.

IND Index
The IND is to be specified in decimal form as a positive integer.
TIME Time
The TIME is to be specified in seconds as a positive integer.
STRING Text
The specified text as far as the next carriage return is output.
PATH Path
The path of the script file to be called has to be indicated absolutely or relatively. If the path includes
blanks, they having to be included in "". Absolute paths must include the disk drive.
The script execution is generally logged. You can switch off the logging by means of Set Log Off or switch it on again with Set Log On. If the
setting for the logging is „yes", then DriveMonitor, when its is loading script files, generates a file with the same name but with the „LOG"
extension. All commands of a transmission are then logged in this file with the result. The „LOG" file is stored in the same folder as the script
file.
A command defines which arguments in a line are valid. If arguments are missing, then they are supplemented where necessary. If more
arguments are present than are necessary, the extra ones are ignored.

Command: READ
Description: For reading parameter values. The read value is written to the log file.
Max. arguments: 2
The parameter number is absolutely essential. If the index is specified as 255, all indexes of the parameter are read out and written to the logfile.
The index is optional.
· Indexed parameters:
If the index for an indexed parameter is forgotten or equal to 0, then the index 1 is automatically assumed.
· Non-indexed parameters:
If the index for a non-indexed parameter is present, then it is ignored.
Max. arguments: 3
· Indexed parameters:
For an indexed parameter, the 3 arguments must be present. If there are fewer than 3 arguments, the line is ignored.
· Non-indexed parameters:
For a non- indexed parameter, there may be 2 or 3 arguments. If there are 3 arguments, the 2nd argument corresponds to the index
and is ignored. If there are fewer than 2 arguments, the line is ignored.
With this command it is possible to write an indexed parameter with a single command, rather than having to transfer each individual index with a
separate WRITE command. The following syntax must be used for the command:
255 must always be entered as the index (IND). The parameter values of the indices must be separated by the / symbol. One parameter
value must be specified for each index of the parameter.
Command: WAIT
Max. arguments: 4
The parameter number is absolutely essential. The time specification is optional. If you do not specify a time, the system waits until either the
expected parameter value arrives or you terminate the process. If you specify a time in seconds (positive, integer), the same conditions apply,
but no longer than for the specified time. The WAITcommand is ignored if DriveMonitor is in the offline status. For the parameter number you
can specify values up to those that are a result of a logically OR operation. The values are separated by the character "/" and must not contain
any spaces or tabs. The parameter values count as one argument.

Script files Page 4 of 7
The specified process values (PWE) are to be specified in the way that they appear in the download file, as no conversion to numerical
values take place.
Example: e.g. for P53: WAIT 53 0 0000000001010111 and not 87dec or 57hex
Command: TIME
Description: Waits the specified time before processing the following script
commands.
Max. arguments: 1
The TIME command is ignored if DriveMonitor is in the offline status. The time is specified in seconds as a positive integer. If more than one
argument is specified, the subsequent ones are ignored. If there is no argument following the command the line is ignored.
Command: CALL
Max. arguments: 1
PFAD (PATH) specifies the full path name of the script file to be executed.
Paths which include blanks must included in "". Paths can be absolute including the disk drive and the complete path or relative if no path is
specified. If no argument is available after the command, the line is ignored.
Command: MSG
Description: The string following the command is accepted as far as the end of the
line and output on the monitor as an instruction via the MessageBox.
Max. arguments: 1
The processing of the script file remains stopped until you click the „OK" button. If you click the „Cancel" button the processing of the script file is
terminated (including the primary scripts). An "OK" and a "Cancel" button are displayed on the screen. The Info character monitor is displayed as
a symbol.
Example:
file:///C:/Users/fagro/AppData/Local/Temp/~hh2444.htm 10/09/2019
Script files Page 5 of 7
Command: LOCALMSG
Description: The command works in the same way as MSG, except that on clicking
the "Cancel" button, only the processing of the current script file is
terminated and not the entire script execution.
Max. arguments: 1
This enables scripts that are called from one script file with the command CALL to be terminated without terminating the execution of
the higher level scripts.
Command: PRINT
Description: The command transfers the subsequent string to the end of the line into
the LOG file.
Max. arguments: 1
Command: REBOOT
Description: The command helps to prevent errors and stops processing of the script file
from being terminated if a module is about to be rebooted by a script
command. A timeout (the time for which the communications link is allowed
to be interrupted in seconds) is specified as a command parameter.
Max. arguments: 1
Usable if through a preceding command the inverter is in an undefined state and con not respond to requests.

REBOOT 2
Description: The command starts a dialog mask, from which individual script commands can be
executed. The parameters can be input in the dialog. For each parameter for this –
dependent on the command - a short explanation is displayed. Logging can take place
into the current log file (the logging is adjustable in the dialog mask). The following
commands are accessible: READ, WRITE, PRINT, TIME, CALL, WAIT.
The command to be selected in the dialog can be indicated via the presetting by stating
the desired command together with the necessary arguments for the command. The
command and the arguments shall be enclosed by ". Please observe that the index of
a parameter must be indicated here separately with . .
The string following the command is accepted as far as the end of the line and
output on the monitor as an instruction in the dialog.
Max. arguments: 2
The following window is displayed, in which the instruction can be input interactively. By pushing the button
Execute the set instruction is executed. By pushing the button Close and C ontinue the dialog terminates and the further script execution
continues.
Example:
Command: PARAMDIALOG
