STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Diligence, determination and the desire to excel at whatever I do resulted in good grades
throughout my schooling and also in my bachelor’s. As a child, I was very fascinated by the
working of complex mechanisms of mechanical devices and equipment’s this etched an
impressionable image on my mind. I was awed by their simple fundamentals which form the
governing basis for a lot of machinery. In order to understand these concepts, I took part in
science fairs and practical workshops. This exposure taught me the importance of simple and
practical design. To understand the principles and practical aspects of designing a product I
decided to pursue my career in engineering. I am pursuing my engineering degree in Mechanical
engineering from xxxxxxxxxxxx, affiliated to the xxxxxxxxxxxxx.

In my undergraduate study, I was exposed to a plethora of subjects which were intriguing and
which triggered my passion to learn more and thirst for knowledge. I had found mechanical
engineering to much more interesting and challenging than I had imagined. All my years of study
and experiences had taught me to pursue excellence rather than just study for grades. My
education has moulded me to believe that if one chases perfection, success will ultimately follow
which helped me maintain a good academic profile. Applied Thermodynamics, Fluid
Mechanics, computer aided manufacturing and design, Kinematics and Dynamics of
Machinery, Machine design, Industrial Management etc.., revealed to me limitless horizons
in the field of Mechanical Engineering. These courses have helped me build a strong foundation
and laid the necessary groundwork for pursuing graduate studies. As I progressed throughout my
degree, I discovered that I was leaning towards the design and programming aspect of
mechanical engineering. This Interest fascinated me to learn different some application
software’s in this field like AutoCAD, CATIA, Ansys, SolidWorks, PTC Creo, Python and
MATLAB.

The interest on the Design and Analysis influenced me to take up my major project on "Design
and Analysis of Propeller Blades" which aims at incorporating the features of standard Design
models and to replace the conventional metallic propeller with the composite propeller in which
the Reinforced Plastic material because of its advantages., was an opportunity to gain knowledge
of design applications and the materials that can be used to replace the conventional materials.

I joined xxxxxxxxx just after my graduation as a xxxxxxxxx; this gave me the opportunity to see
the roots of the engineering. During my one-year tenure in that firm, I came in contact with latest
technical developments and skilled personalities. This experience dragged me to acquire the
knowledge of design engineering and later, I joined xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx as a xxxxxxxxx
worked for x months. Presently, I am working as a xxxxxxxxx in xxxxxxxxxx. The more
practical training I have undergone, the more I have learnt. This experience in both the field
fortified me go for higher education in an interdisciplinary field like System Engineering as this
assists me to enhance my skills and pursuing my Master’s in Germany forms the basis of my
desire.

Germany is a symbol of technical excellence. As technical skills and excellence cannot be

achieved without excellent education, it is therefore a promising destination for higher education.
The fact that many of Germany’s institutions of higher education charge little or no tuition fee by
international comparison apprised me of the importance Germany holds in higher education. I
also value the fact that many breakthroughs industrial practices have been originally envisaged
by German establishments.

In pursuit of an ambitious and successful future, I am determined to seek my Master’s in

Master of Science (System Engineering) at Saarland University. At this stage of my
education, a true global program would be the most advantage. The program at your University
is of special interest to me, as this will be an extension to my academic pursuits and also a major
step towards achieving my goals and objectives. I perceive that graduate study nurtures the seeds
of learning sown during the course of undergraduate study. After having gone through the details
of the research facilities available at your university, I feel that they are very much catering to the
fields of interest and it is the right place to embark upon my academic career. A reputed
university that established itself as a leading provider of modern and professional education, with
experienced faculty, well established research facilities in this field have motivated me to choose
your prestigious university.

Given an opportunity, I shall strive to channel my unbridled efforts into more productive
avenues.
