Part-A
Attempt all the questions:
1.) A invites B to see a picture with him. B accepts the offer. A purchases a ticket
for B and waits for him at the cinema hall. B does not turn up. Has A any
cause of action against B?

2.) A offers by a letter to sell his car to B for Rs. 40,000. B, at the same time and
on the same day, offers by a letter to buy A’s car for Rs. 40,000. The 2 letters
cross each other in the post. Is there any contract between A and B?

3.) State whether there is any contract in the following cases:

(a) A and B agree to go for hunting

(b) A and B agree to marry each other

(c) A agrees to sell some goods to B at a price to be fixed by C

(d) A takes food in restaurant

(e) A takes seat in local bus.

4.) X agrees to pay Y Rs. 100000 if Y kills Z. To pay Y, X borrowed Rs. 100000
from W, who is also aware of the purpose of loan. Y kills Z, but X refuses to
pay. X also refuses to pay the loan to W. Advise Y and W.

5.) Raju agrees to pay Rs. 100000 to Manoj if Manoj does not marry throughout
his life. Manoj promises not to marry at all, but later Raju refuses to pay the
money. Advise Manoj.

6.) X offered to buy shares of Y Ltd. On 10th January, but the allotment was made
on 10th July. Is X bound by the acceptance?

7.) A notice that the goods stated in the notice will be sold by a tender. Is the
notice a valid offer to sell?

Part-B
1.) A offers B to sell his car for Rs. 8000. B says to A that he will buy the car at
6000. Is it an acceptance of the offer?

2.) A offers to sell a two in one set to B for Rs. 1000, But B was willing to pay Rs.
900. A refused. B offered Rs. 1000 which A refused. Was it a valid contract?

3.) X sent a letter to Y with an offer to sell his house to him. X sent another
letter to him revoking his offer. Meanwhile Y has accepted the previous offer
by return of post. Has Y any remedy against X in these circumstances?

4.) X a minor borrowed from Y a sum of Rs. 10000. The payment of the loan was
guaranteed by Z who is a major. X refuses to pay. Can Y hold Z liable for the
payment of money?

5.) A, a trader, supplies B , a minor with rice needed for his consumption. B
refuses to pay the price. Can A recover the price?

6.) A grocer supplied monthly ration for 6 months to B who is aged 17 years. On
B’s failure to pay, he sues him for realization for his dues. Will he succeed?

7.) A, a minor, borrowed Rs. 5000 from B stating that he was a major and
executed a receipt in his favour. Discuss the remedies available to B to
recover the money sent by him.
