Dear Atty. Mangrubang,

I write on behalf of my client, SOFRONIA E. CRUZ, an account holder in Security Bank-
Las Piñas Branch (“LP Branch”). I wrote a letter dated 17 July 20191 to the Bank Manager of
the LP Branch demanding for the following:
a) Explanation on the unauthorized withdrawals from her account with Account No. 0852-
295412-200, the copies of the transactions on the said account such as withdrawal and
deposit slips, and the return of the actual remaining balance amounting to
approximately Five Million Pesos (Php 5,000,000.00)
b) Explanation on the existence and status of the Safety Deposit Box under my client and
her husband’s names under the Deposit Account No. 852-300074-8; and
c) Status of the Investment Savings Account under my client and her husband’s names
with Account No. 852-300074-8; and
d) Explanation on the existence and status of the Investment Savings under the name of
my client, the original copies of the Certificate of Investment Savings, and the return
of the total amount of investment under her name.
Likewise, stated therein was an invitation to have a discussion regarding the abovementioned
matters within five (5) days from the receipt of the letter. The said period lapsed, and I was not
contacted by the Bank Manager of the LP Branch. A representative of my client, Ms. Eliza Del
Rosario went to the said branch and was informed by the Bank Manager, Mabel Bernales, that
the abovementioned matters are being handled by the Legal Department of Security Bank. On
01 August 2019, Ms. Del Rosario went again to the LP Branch and received the reply of Ms.
Bernales2. Ms. Del Rosario insisted that my client should be apprised of the status of her
accounts in their branch regardless of the issues surrounding the said accounts, however, she
was informed that the subject accounts were already closed.
Please note that my client is already 81 years old. She is weak and suffering from illnesses
which she has not been attending to due to lack of funds. She has been trying to seek the
resolution for the issues in her accounts for almost a decade now and still has not received clear
answers from Security Bank. With this letter, my client requests to have a meeting with you to
finally resolve the abovementioned matters. Kindly contact the undersigned in the numbers
provided so we can schedule a meeting.
