Qualitative process analysis.

The main steps included in the above shown faculty hiring process at Sheikh Zayed University
are as follows:
1. Faculty position Requisition– Faculty head or Dean appoints search committee to
finalise the needs of faculty for next session and outline the requirements from each
department. The suggestions from the search committee will forward to the head of
department for approval and hen Faculty head forward the requisition to the HR manager.
2. HR Match position– HR will align the required positron with the structured
responsibilities and eligibility criteria of university faculty hiring.
3. Post position – The advertisement of faculty position announced at the national
newspapers, university websites, and other online job portals to get maximum reach.
4. Review of Collected applications– The faculty hiring committee will review the
application in assistance with HR department. The applications and CVs are shortlisted at
this stage to finalise for interviews.
5. Phone interview – HR representatives call potential candidates for initial phone
interview and confirmation of the date and time of first faculty interviews.
6. First Faculty interview – Faculty hiring committee conduct the first interview to check
credentials and verify the qualification and collect basic information about the candidate.
7. Demo Class: Shortlisted candidates will call for a demo class as per their availability and
concerned subject classes schedules. However, senior faculty can directly send for e final
interview with department head/ Dean.
8. Hiring decision – The final hiring decision will be based of hiring committee
recommendations, students response from the demo class, and the final recommendation
of department head or Dean of faculties.

Faculty Feedback/ Selection scores:

The selection criteria of the faculty also based on quantitative scales selection. The points are
awarded to candidates on the bases of their qualification, Experience, personality traits, outlook,
and the response from their class handling and lecture delivery. Normally faculty candidates are
judged on these qualities on a scale vary from 1-100 points. The final selection of the candidate
based in the maximum points scored at each stage of selection.
