Applications are invited for 3 month training course for issuance of

“Licence for Land Surveying”, from candidates, who have passed 3

year ‘Diploma in Civil Engineering’ from an Educational Institution

/ Polytechnic approved by the Department of Technical Education,

Applications are invited for training course to be conducted for issuance of ‘Licence for Land Surveying’.
(Vide G.O.Ms.No.362, Revenue and Disaster Management Dept., Dated: 04.10.2019)
o Applicant should be resident Indian and should have resided for the past 5 years in the
State of Tamil Nadu at the time of applying for the course. The applicant should have
studied Tamil as a subject in ‘SSLC’ (X-Std).
o Objective of the Course:- To impart training in Land Surveying and to issue Licence, so
that needy agencies can hire them for conducting land survey. The applicants may note
that the licence in land surveying will not lead to any preference in Government
employment. There will be no guarantee for employment or remuneration after being
‘Licensed Surveyor’.
o Course Structure:
Duration: 3 months.
Training for the first 2 months at Survey Training Institute, Orathanadu
(Thanjavur District), in Traditional Survey using Chain, Cross-Staff, and Theodolite
and in Modern Survey using Global Positioning System (GPS) and Electronic Total
Station (ETS)and Real-time project Training for last one month in Resurvey/ Town
Survey in any one of the District where such work is in progress.
On successful completion of the course, ‘Licence for Land Surveying’ will be
issued.
o Course Fee:
Rs.30,000/- (Rupees thirty thousand only). It is non-refundable at any circumstance.
Expenses towards boarding, lodging and travel expenses should be borne by the
trainees. The course fee is payable only if the applicant is selected for the course.
o Educational Qualifications:
Pass in 3 year “Diploma in Civil Engineering” from an educational Institution /
Polytechnic approved by the Department of Technical Education, Government of
Tamil Nadu.
o Age Limit: Should not exceed 50 years as on 01.11.2019.
o Selection Process:
Selection will be based on the higher overall percentage of marks obtained in
“Diploma in Civil Engineering”. No. of trainees per batch will be 100.
o Filled-in application along with copies of educational mark lists, certificates etc., should
be sent by Registered post to “The Principal/Joint Director(Training), Survey Training
Institute, Orathanadu-614625, Thanjavur District”. The envelope containing the
application should be superscribed: as“Application for Training course on ‘Licence for
Land Surveying’’’.
o Last Date for receipt of filled-in application with all its enclosures: 20.11.2019.

o Application can be downloaded free of cost from the Government of Tamil Nadu’s
website (www.tn.gov.in).

1. Application form should be filled legibly in BLOCK LETTERS.

2. Recent passport size photograph of the applicant must be affixed in the space
provided for it and it should be self-attested.

3. Self-attested copies of mark sheet of SSLC, consolidated mark sheet issued after
successful completion of the Diploma (or mark sheet issued for each semester),
Diploma and other educational certificates, Ration Card, Aadhar Card or any other
document approved as Address & identification proof by the Central Government /
Government of Tamil Nadu should be enclosed with the application.

4. Filled-in application along with the enclosures should be sent by Registered post to
“The Principal / Joint Director (Training), Survey Training Institute, Orathanadu-
614625, Thanjavur District”. The envelope containing the application should be
