WHAT IS A PRAYER?

nararapat.
Prayer is lifting our minds and heart to God.
Peace of mind and then everything is clear.

 Prayer is the light of the soul, a heavenly food that satisfies the soul.

 A day without prayer is a day without blessing, and life without power.
Diyos.

 Through prayer we encounter Jesus Christ with complete joy and hope. To pray is to believe
that God is a person. Someone who listens and who replies and loves us.

1|Panalangin
 Prayer is a living dialogue of being loved by God

 A world of prayer is a world of Peace. The family that prays together stays together.

 A man of faith is a man of prayers. Prayer is the wings of our Faith.

Isiah 65: 1-2, 23-24

1 The Lord said, “I was ready to answer my people’s prayers, but they did not pray. I was

ready for them to find me, but they did not even try. The nation did not pray to me, even
though I was always ready to answer- “here I am; I will help you.” 2 I have always been ready
to welcome my people, who stubbornly do what is wrong and go their own way. 23 The work
they do will be successful, and their children will not meet with disaster. I will bless them and
their descendants for all time to come. 24 Even before they finish praying to me, I will answer
their prayers.

Sirach 35: 16-17

16 Serve the Lord willingly, and the Lord will accept you; your prayers will reach the skies. 17

The prayer of a humble person goes past the clouds and keeps on going until it reaches the
Lord, Most High, where it stays until he answers by seeing that justice is done and that the
guilty are punished.

2|Panalangin
Panalanging may
pananampalataya (Persevering Prayer) at huwag manghinawa.
(Luke 18:1-8 : The Parable of the Window)

Colossians 4:2
Be persistent in prayer and keep alert as you pray, giving thanks to God.

Philippians 4:5-7
5 Show a gentle attitude toward everyone. The Lord is coming soon. 6 Don’t worry about

anything, but in all your prayers ask God. For what you need, always asking Him with thankful
heart. 7 And God’s peace. Which is far beyond human understanding, will keep you hearts and
mind safe in union with Christ Jesus.

 Kailangan tayong magdasal araw-araw.
Homecell-
Household-Cluster Meeting –B.E.C. Atbp.

 The bible instructs us to fellowship: Let us come near to God.

Hebrews 10:21-25
21 We have a great priest in charge of the house of God. 22 So let us come near to God with a

sincere heart and a sure Faith, with hearts that have been purified. From a guilty conscience
and with bodies washed with clean water. 23 Let us hold on firmly to the hope we profess,
because we can trust God to keep his promise. 24 Let us be concerned for one another, to help
one another to show love and to do good. 25 Let us not give up the habit of meeting together,
as some are doing, instead, let is encourage one another all the more, since you see that the
day of the Lord is coming nearer.

Matthew 18:19-20
19 “And I tell you more: whenever two of you on earth agree about anything you pray for, it

will be done for you by my Father in Heaven. 20 For where two or three come together in my
name, I am there with them.

kapwa, manalig kayong matanggap ninyo iyon, at matatanggap nga ninyo.

Mark 11:24-25
24 For this reason I tell you: When you pray and ask for something, believe that you have

received it, and you will be given whatever you ask for. 25 And when you stand and pray,
forgive anything you may have against anyone, so that your Father in Heaven will forgive the
wrongs you have done.

2 Chronicle 7:13-16
13 Whenever I hold back the rain or send the locaust to eat up the crops or send an epidemic
on my people,
14 If they pray to me and repent and turn away from the evil they have been doing, then I will
hear them in heaven, forgive their sins and their land will be prosperous again.
15 I will watch over this temple and be ready to hear all the prayers they are offered here.
16 Because I have chosen it and consecrated it as the place where I will be worshipped
forever and I will watch over it and protect it for all time.

pagbibigkas= The Our Father (Matthew 6: 9-15; Luke 11:2-4)

 One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he had finished. One of his disciples
said to him: Lord teach us to pray: This then is how you should pray Our Father.

6|Panalangin

isang kalipunan (Prayer Meeting)

2. Panalangin Pagmuni-muni: (Meditation)

3. Panalangin Kontemplasyon:

 Deep thought= Malalim na pagdili-dili-Pagninilay-nilay-Pagmumuni-muni-Pagbulay-

bulay. They are in deep contemplation.

Ephesians 3:16-21
16 I ask God from the wealth of His glory to give you power through His spirit to be

strong in your inner selves, 17 And I pray that Christ will make his home in your hearts
through Faith. I pray that you may have your roots and foundation in love, 18 So that
you, together with all God’s people, may have the power to understand how broad and
long, how high and deep, is Christ’s love. 19 Yes, you may come to know His love-
although it can never be fully known- and be completely filled with the very nature of
God. 20 To Him who by means of His power working in us is able to do so much more
than we can ever ask for, or even think of; 21 To God be the glory in the church and in
Christ Jesus for all time, forever and ever! Amen.
