It is very important for Holberton students to meet and hear from real-life engineers, in order to
better understand the industry and meet with the community.

All our Mentors are volunteers who love education and helping others. The program also gives
opportunities to Mentors to expand their network by connecting with other Mentors and future
software engineers.

You don’t have to. It is important for our students to meet with every actor of the tech
community. Including growth hackers, marketers, community managers, product managers,
investors, entrepreneurs etc…

I do not live or work in San Francisco or New Haven, can I be a Mentor?

Yes you can. We have remote Mentors who help in various ways. In fact, more and more
companies have remote workers and it is important for our students to interact with remote
people. Moreover, after graduation, many students will go work abroad, so you can add a lot of
value even if you live outside of the US.

I am already a Mentor in another school or bootcamp. Can I still become a Mentor at

Holberton School?
Yes, of course..

Can I be a Mentor for only one specific topic, exercise or challenge?

Yes you can. Also, Mentors can create their own challenges and exercises. Some of our
