Approachability

 Assist the acute staff in the provision of clinical and professional support, identification of
educational needs and provision of opportunities for these to be met through clinical
supervision, education programs and regular team meetings
 Provide clinical and professional expertise to the Acute Physiotherapy service

Communication
 Work collaboratively as part of the Physiotherapy management and clinical team to
provide leadership for HKHS Physiotherapy services within the acute sector
 Liaise and communicate effectively with the Physiotherapy Manager and senior staff
regarding rosters, staffing levels, workloads and equipment ordering needs
Respect
 Promote Physiotherapy acute services at Hornsby Hospital by communicating with other
departments within the organisation and with external service partners
Clinical Expertise
 Possess extensive specialist knowledge in Acute Care Physiotherapy.
 To work autonomously with minimal supervision and apply advanced clinical skills to
complex situations.
 Provide clinical services to client groups and circumstances of a complex nature using
advanced practice skills and are responsible for the clinical supervision and support of
Level 1 / 2 physiotherapy staff

Analytical skills
 Identify improvements to the service, develop and implement quality improvement
activities
 Work collaboratively as part of the Physiotherapy management and clinical team to
provide leadership for HKHS Physiotherapy services within the acute sector
 Support the Physiotherapy Manager in decision- making regarding service management,
future direction and initiatives in the Physiotherapy Department
 Be responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of Physiotherapy services, including data
collection and regular reporting

Management
 To coordinate daily rostering of Physiotherapy Department in acute
 leadership to the ongoing planning and coordination of HKHS Physiotherapy services,
including staff rotation, and rostering, and consistent with procedures and practices
 resource role for HKHS within inpatient Responsible for the planning, implementation,
evaluation and reporting on clinical services in designated inpatient services
 Ensure that clinical care is in accordance with the HKHS Physiotherapy clinical priorities,
and that accurate assessment, treatment, outcome measurement and planning is
undertaken and documented for all patients of the service
