CHAPTER 2

METHODOLOGY

RESEARCH DESIGN

This study used a qualitative research design through narrative interview to help

the researchers to draw an analysis about the experiences of 4Ps beneficiaries in

Lupon. The researchers used a semi-structured interview in order to gather the

remarks and perception of the 4Ps individual.

PARTICIPANTS OF THE STUDY

DATA SOURCES

A face-to-face, semi-structured interview was conducted to gather the data. The

interview ranged from one to the other (TIME). As this study is exploratory, the

questions asked were semi-structured in order to explore the relatively unknown subject

and to obtain from the participant rich qualitative data on his / her own experiences.

Interviews have guidelines which include open-ended and demographic questions about

the participant. It focuses on the experiences of a 4ps beneficiary individual.

DATA COLLECTION

The data that was collected shall undergo through transcription and translation as it

came from an audio file of the interview. Recording paraphernalia was used to gather

the data. The interview audio file is one of the means by which rich information about
the narratives given by the participant can be provided. Procedures for the delivery of

information from the selected participant had to be considered:

The researchers have gained approval in the form of formal documents that have

been legibly signed by the director of the organization. The researchers and the

interviewer met on the day of the interview. Before the researcher was interviewed, he /

she was given instructions and asked for permission if he / she would like to take part in

the research. Informal approval has been given. The consent for the interview and the

recorded audio file of the interview shall be given to the participant so that he / she is

fully aware of it. The interview was conducted with the consent of the participant. It was

done at the same time with the audience. The interview was registered for data analysis

purposes. The interviewer has selected the setting and location of the interview. As a

token of gratitude, the individual received a nuisance fee and a present.

DATA ANALYSIS

In analyzing the data, there was a proper order in decoding one. The researchers

reviewed every extracted data and the entire data set should be in relation with study’s

theme.

TRUSTWORTHINESS OF THE STUDY

ROLE OF THE RESERCHERS

ETHICAL CONSIDERATION

Beneficence and Nonmaleficence- Data collection was performed through interviews;

thus, the researchers chose and classified the participant on the basis of their desire
and were not forced to participate in the study. Nonetheless, the researcher was asked

some questions that are important and necessary to the needs of the research.

Ultimately, the researchers have ensured the safety and security of the participant befor

e and after the test.

Fidelity and Responsibility- During the interview, the researchers used questions that

were used correctly. In addition, the researchers challenged the individual to

demonstrate good leadership, dignity and formality.

Integrity- It is perhaps the most important principle of a research and dependent

on integrity because it demands truthfulness and honesty. The data that was obtained

was complete and accurate, and there were no modifications to the details at all.

Justice- This offers some predictability for events outside our control, so that we can

plan our lives and live with some peace of mind.

It's all fair and not all sides of the study support anything or anyone.

Respects for People’s Rights and Dignity- All information collected from the

individual were kept confidential.
