EasyView and TCP/IP gateways

=============================
EasyView 2.05 supports connection to both NetBIOS and TCP/IP gateways, using a
new Multi-Network Layer feature implemented in SMTBF version 4.87 and above.
SMTBF.DLL is now controlled by a configuration file SMTBF.INI in the Windows
(or Win95) directory. This file contains parameters that affect the way SMTBF
will access Lanyon gateways, but should not be modified unless advised by your
Lanyon representative. For more information on SMTBF.INI please refer to the
file SMTBFINI.TXT in the Windows (or Win95) directory.
The table below shows the additional files used by EasyView and their
locations:

EasyView SETUP and Windows '95

===============================
The EasyView installation program will correctly install EasyView and
associated files under Windows 3.1, 3.11 and Windows '95, but will not add an
EasyView short-cut to the Desktop under Windows '95.

Warning: EasyView and Multiple Network protocols

=================================================
SMTBF.DLL Version 4.87 and later can support connections to both NetBIOS and
TCP/IP gateways simultaneously. This means that a single copy of EasyView
using SMTBF version 4.87 can access both NetBIOS and TCP/IP gateways at the
same time.
If you are running EasyView in such an environment, or are using Domain Name
Services with TCP/IP, you may encounter problems during network-intensive
operations (for example when opening a session) where a previously allocated
session becomes disconnected.
Please contact Lanyon for more information on possible problems with using
NetBIOS and TCP/IP gateways simultaneously.
Customers who need to connect to NetBIOS and TCP/IP gateways simultaneously
MUST use EasyView version 2.05 or above.

1. General
===========
Please ensure that EasyView is running before the example DDE applications are
started.
Note. There seems to be a minor problem running Visual Basic Applications on the
OS/2 v2.00 DeskTop under Windows Compatibility mode. Sporadically the Window for
the DDE application will flash along with the CAPS-LOCK light on the keyboard,
pressing the CAPS-LOCK button will stop everything flashing. The problem does
not prevent DDE communications between Windows applications but simply looks
untidy.

2. HighLite
============
Enter one or two text strings in the HighLite screen and select "AND" or "OR".
Note that strings are case-sensitive, and leading and trailing spaces are
significant.
Click on "Start" or minimise HighLite in order to begin operation. When data
is returned from the host HighLite will search for the check strings and
highlight the lines in which they appear.
Click on "Stop" to close down HighLite.
