Martial Arts
How Martial Arts Is Important.

I did Martial Arts for 3 years of my life. For all 3 years of middle school, I was training to
become a black belt after school for the longest amount of time, and at the time I
thought it was hell. But looking back I realize those days turned me into the man I am
today. Martial Arts taught me true respect, disciplined me to try my hardest in school,
made me lose a little weight and most importantly taught me how to deal with kids who
were bullying me during those 3 hard years because I was insecure, overweight and
weird. You would think martial arts would told me to fight them and cause problems and
paperwork and yada yada yada, But it taught me to only use it as self defense, And I
never fought my bully’s. It taught me different ways on how to deal with them, like
patience and keeping calm. It also gave me a place to take out my anger and stress. If it
wasn’t for martial arts, you guys would have a bunch of paperwork to do.

And I know it can help others too, for example it prevents Bullying for many people who
take it. So many children a year a bullied, one year it reached 13 million students! 13
million! 13 million kids are at risk of depression, lack of sleep, anxiety, loneliness and it
compromises their Education! But that number can be slowed down, Martial Arts
teaches kids how to deal with bullying peacefully, and even learning how to prevent it in
the first place.

My second point is that martial arts releases stress buildup in humans, it’s like yoga but
more challenging and fun, Everyone deals with huge stress in their life, It can be
schooling, financial status and relationships. Hell it can even be your career, but people
martial arts takes stress, and it releases it, there is something in many martial arts
called a “Kia!”and no it isn’t a car manufacturer, it’s a yell, when you yell the “Kia!”
Before every move, it lets out anxiety, it grows your self esteem and calms you down. It
feels great to free it up. And there’s more! Many people are stressing over what the
future brings or what the past holds, in martial arts, you’re thinking about the present,
working on reflexes and stretching, concentrating on your breathing and yourself. Hell at
every belt test you get to break a wooden board, you write all your stresses on the
board and then you break it, it’s something you have to experience, it feels great and it
releases you from the captivity of your stressors and gives you confidence to face
problems head on.

In conclusion martial arts classes are super important to relieving stress, stopping
bullying and hell, even keeping kids education in line, all High school students should at
least take 2 classes so please, if you care about the students in your program I highly
suggest funding our next Martial arts session.
