COURSE OUTLINE
SESSION 2019 SEMESTER DIS

DEPARTMENT: CIVIL ENGINEERING

COURSES / CODE: WATER SUPPLY & WASTE WATER ENGINEERING / DCC5152
INSTRUCTIONAL DURATION: 15 WEEKS
CREDIT(S): 2
PREREQUISITE(s): NONE
LECTURER: HAZLEENA BT. ABD HALIM
SYNOPSIS: WATER SUPPLY & WASTE WATER ENGINEERING is a study of water resources,
water characteristics, usage and demand of water supply, raw water treatment
process and water distribution system. This course also includes the
information on process in sewage treatments plant, sludge treatment and
disposal. It also emphasize on the parameter of drinking water and effluent
from sewage treatment plant.

PROGRAMMED LEARNING OUTCOME (PLO) RELATED TO THIS COURSE

PLO 1. Apply technical, mathematics, science and humanities knowledge using appropriate civil
engineering problems for individual personality development.
PO 1 Apply knowledge of applied mathematics, applied science, engineering fundamentals and an
engineering specialization as specified in DK1 to DK4 respectively to wide practical procedures and
practices.

PLO 2. Solve systematically well-define civil engineering problems using appropriate method and
technique.
PO 2 identify and analyses well defined engineering problem reaching substantiated conclusions using
Codified methods of analysis specific to their field of activity

PLO 8. Work independently in acquisition of new knowledge and skill, and recognized the need for
professional development and information system.
PO 12 Recognize the need for and have ability to engage in independent updating in the context of
specialized technical knowledge.
LEARNING OUTCOMES: By the end of the course, students should be able to:
