Liaquat Pur, Khan Pur and Sadiq Abad. This district is divided into three main
physical features: (a) Riverside area, b) canal-irrigated area, and (c) desert area
which is called Cholistan. The Rahim Yar Khan District is bounded on the north

Rahim Yar Khan situated on the bank of River Indus, was built in 1751 A.D.
during the Sumra Supremacy in Sindh. Previously known as Noshehra was named
Rahim Yar Khan in 1809 by Nawab Muhammad Sadiq Khan after his first son. In
1930 the city was designated as a District Headquarter. Cholistan Desert, Fort
Derawer, Bhong Masjid and Pattan Minara are incient and historical places. Total
