Lenses available: All Nikon F-series lenses; only those lenses with a metering shoe (non-AI, AI, AI-S
except 50/1.8) will meter at full aperture. Other F-series lenses (e.g. Series E, AF) can be used in stop-down
mode.
Shutter: Metal vertical-travel mechanical focal-plane shutter with speeds from 1 to 1/1000 sec. and B;
shutter speed selected indicated in the viewfield; shutter release via shutter button or self-timer. All speeds
function without battery power.
Flash synchronization: X and M flash terminals are provided; X for speedlight unit at speeds of up to 1/125
sec. And M for flashbulbs at all speeds.
Synchronization range: For electronic flash units, 1/125 sec. to 1 sec. plus ìBî; for flashbulbs, 1/1000 sec. to
1 sec. plus B.
Accessary shoe: Optional; attaches behind viewfinder eyepiece. Connection of flash unit to X or M terminal
is still required.
Viewfinder: Fixed, non-removable eyelevel pentaprism type with built-in through-the-lens (TTL) exposure
meter; shutter speed indicated to the bottom of the viewfield; field coverage is unspecified.
Focusing screen: Fixed; consists of a matte Fresnel field and a central microprism spot.
Metering range: EV 3 to EV 17 with 50mm f/1.4 lens at ISO 100; aperture coupling range f/1.2 to f/32 with
maximum aperture lenses from f/1.2 to f/5.6; film speed setting ISO 12 to ISO 1600
Film winding: Via single - stroke lever; lever also serves as meter on / off switch
Frame counter: Additive type; automatically resets to ìS,î two frames before "0," when camera back is
opened. (Additive, automatic-resetting type frame counter with "S" and three frames indicated before "1 ").
Film rewinding: Manual crank type (rewind crank and rewind button)
Battery: Powered by PX625 1.3V mercuric oxide battery. 1.3V zinc/air battery is also available.
