This has always been one for hot debate on these forums (and others), it's been referenced a few times over the
years and so I have decided to knock up a "How To".

This ECU reset works on ALL Nissan Primera P12's (regardless of engine size or fuel type).

Location: Hampshire
Online Status:
Points: 61921 It's been mostly used by the Turbo Diesel owners, who have had problems with their cars running and have either
had the fuel pump replaced or the SCV (Suction Control Valve) replaced and have needed to reset the fuel pump.
Garages (including Nissan) will charge you upwards of £60 to do this..

Right here, right now - I'm going to show you how to do it for FREE! You don't need CONSULT to do this or any
other device (the garages have this tech), other than your brain and your eyesight.

This information has been pulled out of the Nissan FSM (Factory Service Manual) and is an official Nissan
procedure etc!

For information, you can download the P12 FSM from us here, COMPLETELY FREE OF CHARGE as well, stop
buying it on eBay or elsewhere and getting ripped off!

The screenshot comes from the EC section of the FSM and is reference EC-76

If that confuses you, here it is in layman terms:

1) Turn the ignition key to the "On" position, without starting the engine.
2) Wait three seconds.

3) Depress and release the accelerator pedal five times in five seconds, then take your foot off the pedal.
4) Count seven seconds and then depress the accelerator pedal and hold it down for 10 seconds.
5) As soon as the EML (Engine Management Light) starts flashing error codes, take your foot off the pedal.

This will now flash out any stored error codes on the ECU..

Unless you're really interested in these, complete the ECU reset by:

Depressing and holding the accelerator pedal for an additional 10 seconds.. This will then reset the ECU!
