Introduction

Market.Net is a field execution and monitoring Services Company.


Founded in 2005, with head office in Karachi, Pakistan. They have a
clear vision to provide a clear picture of the market insights to their
clients through quality execution. They are known for their quality
research and on ground research on unreachable or dangerous places
such as Afghanistan and interior Baluchistan.
The experienced professionals in the organization have what made
their clients to be fully assured of the quality of the work they do in the
field.
Although they have tough competitors such as Nielsen and Gallop who
are huge multi nationals too but the field work is the thing that have
made the organization to stand out from all of their competitors.
They are so credible and well reputed in the market that even
sometimes their competitors give their projects to them due to their
outstanding quality of work in a particular region.

The Four Managerial Functions

There are four managerial functions that were stated by a French


mining engineer whose name was Henri Fayol. Those four functions
were Planning, Controlling, Leading and Organizing. Below is a bit
description of each of the four managerial functions.

Planning
It means looking ahead and chalking out future courses of action to be
followed. It is a preparatory step. ... Planning is deciding best
alternative among others to perform different managerial functions in
order to achieve predetermined goals.

Controlling
Controlling can be defined as that function of management which helps
to seek planned results from the subordinates, managers and at all
levels of an organization.

Leading
Leading is another of the basic function within the management
process "Leading is the use of influence to motivate employees to
achieve organizational goals" (Richard Daft).

Organizing
Organizing is the function of management that involves developing an
organizational structure and allocating human resources to ensure the
accomplishment of objectives.

Organizing in Market Net

The head of operations is basically the main controller of the


organization. He is followed by head of research and national executive
lead. Then comes the manager of Quality assurance followed by north
and south regional leads.
The sub-regions of Multan, Quetta, Sukkur, Hyderabad and Karachi
come in the southern region with each sub-region also having a
regional coordinator, while the sub-regions of Rawalpindi, Faisalabad,
Lahore and Peshawar come in the Northern region with each of them
having a regional coordinator too.

SWOT Analysis
Strengths
 Can conduct operations nationwide especially on those places
where accessibility is not easy such as Baluchistan and
Afghanistan.
 Are really good in crisis management and can really provide
quality results in a short span with a reasonable cost.

Weaknesses
 They have a really unprofessional environment as they depend on
the workload which means less innovation is there.
 Lack of technology advancement due to which their old methods
of research sometimes are not able to cope up with the
requirements of their clients.

Opportunities
 Their experience and their accessibility and reliability can help
foreign investors approach them which can make them have
enough revenue to compete with multi nationals.
 The devaluation of Pakistani rupee in recent months can make
their costs cheaper for multi-nationals who can have an easier
research option in their list.

Threats
 Terrorism and street crimes have made it really difficult for them
to do the field work in the remote areas.
 New competitors have entered in the market with a more
reasonable cost making their survival difficult.

Recommendations

Overcoming the weakness is always the first recommendation that


anyone will give.

They really need to make a professional environment as it can develop


interest in the employees and the experience combining with a good
environment can really give them a good opportunity to prove their
worth and they can really update their level with the multi-national
competitors.

They should decorate their offices in a particular manner which can


really help build interest in the employees and can speed up their
procedures of research.
They should also branch out of research and should also focus on digital
marketing as it can increase their opportunities to survive in the market
and their experience can also make them more attractive for the
clients.

They should focus on innovation in research and should advance their


methods and technology so they can come on level with their
competitors and can really prove their worth in front of all old and new
opponents.
