ABOUT US

Podium is a non-profit, global organization which provides free idea sharing & public
speaking platform where students can share their ideas and thoughts, spread them to
the greater mass and bring social change.

Mission
Podium’s mission is to give students a free platform to speak their ideas and thoughts.
It also enables them to think outside of their career pathway and give effort to more
social development through idea sharing.

Vision
Podium envisions a platform of students connected worldwide to promote free speech
and innovation.

EVENT TIMELINE

Podium Presents “THE ORATORS- An Intra University Public Speaking Championship’’

The event is tentatively named as PODIUM presents “THE ORATORS”. It is slated to be


an intra-University of Dhaka, public speaking competition organized by PODIUM- the only
public speaking club in the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka. The
competition will have 3 rounds. The contemporary buzzing issues will be at the core of
this competition. Each team will comprise of 3 members from University of Dhaka. Cross-
departmental teams are allowed

1. Preliminary Round: In this round, all the registered teams will be given a topic
on which they will need to make PowerPoint presentation. The slide limit will be
25.

The likely topics are:

o The mounting NPL in the banking industry and its ripple effects on the economy
o The intensifying US-CHINA Trade War and Bangladesh’s stake in it

They need to make PPT slide deck and submit it within 2 days to the official email
address of PODIUM.

2) Semi-Final Round: The selected teams from the 1st round will have to present
their submitted PPT presentation in the second round in-front of the prospective
judge penal. They will be evaluated on the basis of their diction, pronunciation,
selection of appropriate vocabulary, subject knowledge, fluency, team
camaraderie, Q/A.

3) Final Round: The selected teams from the 2nd round or as we call it, “The Finalists”
will have to present instantly in this day. They will be given impromptu topics and will be
allotted 2 hours for their preparation. Within 2 hours, they will have to prepare their PPT
presentation on the given subject matter and thereafter present in front the judge penal.

A) FINANCIAL SPONSOR

PUBLICITY & PROMOTION:

1. Printed materials
• Organization’s logo in almost every printed material including posters, invitation
cards, etc.

2. Signage:
• Organizations logo on event banners.
• Organization’s logo on the PVC banners, backdrops (landscape and roman) to be
hanged down from the university premises

3. Website & Social media:


• Organization’s logo displayed on the cover photo in the event page in social media
i.e., Facebook

4. Marketing/advertising:
• Logo promotion through event ad posted in print media partner’s
newspaper/supplementary

B) MEDIA SPONSOR

PUBLICITY & PROMOTION:

1. Displaying the logo of your organization in printed materials such as, posters, invitation
letters, etc.
2. Display of the logo of your organization in PVC banners, backdrops.
3. Brand recognition on the social media promotion, i.e., logo on the cover photo in
Facebook, Instagram and Podium website.

Payment & Condition

IMPORTANT
Please check the following before confirmation:
• All prices are listed in Bangladeshi Taka
• Payment must be made in cash, else
• Pay orders or A/C Payee cheque is accepted only if paid through the A/C name
• Upon confirmation of your participation, the organizer will bring the event budget
during the negotiation meeting.

Sponsor’s Responsibility
It is the responsibility of sponsors to provide materials listed in the package, once the
commitment has been made. The companies which get the most out of their
sponsorship are those who actively promote their presences at the event and provide
any required materials in timely manner.

Sponsorship agreements
Once your preferred sponsorship has been negotiated, the organizer, University of
Dhaka will prepare a Sponsorship Agreement for your signature. The Agreement is to
be signed and returned within the timeframe specified.

Sponsorship cancellation policy


Sponsorship cancellations must be made in writing. Please note that the detailed
cancellation policy will be outlined in the Terms & Condition included with the
Sponsorship Agreement.

Disclaimer
The entitlements listed in this document are offered on the basis that confirmation of
a sponsor’s involvement is received prior to the deadline specified by University of
Dhaka (e.g. production of promotional material).
PODIUM (organizing committee) reserves the right to amend these packages subject to
change in the program format.
