In week one, I started off by
getting a photo of a land-
scape that had many different
layers in it. I decided to take
a picture of the skyline from
the South Side of Chicago. I
also go the Buckingham foun-
tain in the picture.
With this picture I had to
outline all the shapes, starting
with the shape farthest back,
and going all the way to the
6 front. I did this process Adobe
Illustrator.
On Adobe Illustrator, we used picture were more detail
the pen tool to out line the than I wanted, so I decided

with gradients. To play with
gradients you have to open
the gradient window in Adobe
Illistrator. While playing with
gradients you can change
many different things are not
in the original photo. You
are able to change the hue,
value, and saturation of the
colors in the photo.

This time I took the same original pho-
to that I started with, and I played with
gradients again. The only difference is,
that I decided to change the gradients
so that the picture changed from a day
photo to a night photo. I changed the
photo so it now has a sun set. I also
changed the buildings to look like the
sun was going off of them. I turn the
water darker, and I also made the
grass fade into dark. Changing the
gradient on Adobe Illustrator did all
this.

The craft that I used for this

photo was the different gradi-
ents of dark colors that I found
on adobe illustrator. It also has
many different shapes to represent
things in the town. The concept of this photo
was to change the photo and
make it look like it was taken
at sunset and not the middle of
the day.

The composition of
this photo is that as the sun

technique. I decided

purple. To do this I had
to make every shape and
object a different shade
of purple. I used the very
lightest colors of purple
I could find, and also
shades of purple that
were very close to being
black. I decided to use
purple because it is my
favorite color. I wanted
the concept of this photo
to be the city on a day
with no other color but
purple.

In this photo I decided to change
the focal point. In the original
photo, I believe that the focal
point was the sky and the water
because they are the two light-
est colors. In my new photo I
decided to change the focal point
to the pathway. To do this, I had
to change the water and the sky
color to make them darker. I also
made the grass and the trees
slightly darker. Then I changed
the color of the pathway so that
it would be bright and stand out.
I like this photo because of the
concept. I think the concept is
that some things that we may not
think are the most important, can
be. The composition of this photo
was very fun because I used
many different people to make
sure their eyes went straight to
the pathway first.

In these photos I decided to
take advantage of the border
tool on Adobe Illustrator, and
make the photo into something
completely different then what
it was using borders. In each
photo I decided to make some-
thing different. In the photo
above, I decided to outline ev-
erything in blue red or purple.
I also varied the designs and
widths of all of the borders.

the objects. I decided to use

 Teapot Creation
The Craft of these photos
was done by a pen tool and
pen pad. I drew the pictures
on Adobe Illustrator. In some
photos I used different
background colors and in
some photos I only used
lines in certain directions
and sizes. I used black lines
to represent the dark color
and I used white lines to
represent the light color. I
normally used gray as the
backround so it could be
neutral. I also used a lamp
to help with controlled
lighting.

a pumpkin because it is fall
and I love to carve
pumpkins in the fall time.
Since I did not want to
carry a big pumpkin I
picked one of the very
small ones.
With this pumpkin I also
drew it showing the darks
and the lights. In the
picture below I drew my

pumpkin three different
times. All three times I
drew it using the idea
of lights and darks, but
I used different lines for
each. For one of the
pumpkins I used only
horizontal lines. For
another pumpkin I only
used vertical lines. For the
third pumpkin I used both
horizontal and vertical
lines.
Pumpkins in their Natural Color

In the photo above I

used the same concept I
had been using with the
lights and darks, but I
also added orange in as
the dominant color of the
pumpkin. In the photo to
te left I decided to use
the natural colors of the
pumpkin but still show
the lights and the darks. I
used all shades of
oranges. On my pumpkin I
used four different shades
and on my computer
mouse and the shadow I
used some more different
shades. The concept of
this photo was to show
the darks and light of the
pumpkin, without losing
the natural colors of the
pumpkin.

In this photo I used

my pumpkin but I
also decided to use
an apple as a second
object. In this photo I
showed the darks and
light with black and
white, but I decided to
also use purple to
represent an in
between color. In this
photo I used controlled
lighting to help create
a great color
difference. In this
photo I had to use
the layers window on
Adobe Illistrator to
help me keep eveything
organized.

Black, Gray, and a Hint of Blue
In these photos I still used the
pen tool and I also showed the
dark and the light colors. In
these photos though, I decided
to add a little bit of blue into
each photo. In the photo of
the pen bag I used the blue to
outline the bag. In the photo of
the pen tool, I used the blue as
a highlight to the penholder. I

high-heeled show I used the
blue to outline the inside of the
shoe. In the photo of the water
bottle I used the blue to show
the label on the bottle. The
concept of this was to make a
focal point in each photo.

This is one of my favorite photos because it has a very dramatic look to it. It I love this photo because I love the color purple. This photo takes the
