Dear Sir or Madame,

I am near the end of my Instructional Technology degree from Georgia

Southern University and I am looking for a position as a media specialist for
the 2010-2011 school year. I found your listing for the media specialist
position at Irwin County Elementary School through the Teach Georgia web
site. I will not have completed my masters degree by the beginning of next
school year, but Fall 2010 is my last semester. As a certified teacher, I will be
eligible for a provisional certificate for the position until I finish my degree.
In addition to the skills and knowledge learned through my studies at
Georgia Southern, I have six years of experience as an English teacher,
teaching everything from seventh to twelfth grades, making literature one of
my strengths. In college, I worked as a web designer and network technician,
giving me an excellent foundation in technology. Before becoming a teacher,
I worked for several years as a reporter and copy editor for a daily
newspaper, work that honed my knowledge of research skills.
I would be happy to speak with you by phone or in person to discuss
my qualifications, and I look forward to the opportunity to interview for this
position.

Sincerely,

Jacob Johnston
