III. PROCEDURES
Before the Lesson

The teacher will ask to recall on the previous lesson thru guided questions:
 What are the steps in finding the mean of the sampling distribution of the sample means?
A. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the variance of the sampling distribution of the sample means?
new lesson  What are the properties of the sampling distribution of the sample mean?

(answers may vary)

The class will be divided into five groups. Each group will be given sheets of paper and will answer
the activity – “Loop a Word”.

Directions: Loop a word on a 10x10 puzzle by encircling all the words that is related with statistics.

From the words that the students gathered, they will be asked by the following motivational questions:
 What are the words on the puzzle?
 What have you noticed with the words?
 What will be the discussion for today?

C. Presenting examples / instances of the new

lesson

During the Lesson

D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new The teacher will discuss the concept of Central Limit Theorem.
skills #1 (refer on this site: https://link.quipper.com/en/organizations/5468bccb2294ee0894000076/curriculum#curriculum)

Example:

A population has a mean of 60 and a standard deviation of 5. A random sample of 16 measurements

is drawn from this population. Describe the sampling distribution of the sample means by computing
E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new its mean and standard deviation.
skills #2
Steps: (They will answer the example guided with these steps.)
1. Identify the given information.
2. Find the mean of the sampling distribution. Use the property that 𝜇𝑥̅ = 𝜇.
𝜎
Find the standard deviation of the sampling distribution. Use the property that 𝜎𝑥̅ = .
√𝑛

F. Developing Mastery The students will be given more exercises if necessary. (see Exercises on page 121-124)

G. Finding practical applications of concepts &

skills in daily living
After the Lesson

Let the students synthesize the topic thru guided questions:

1. What happens to the mean of the sampling distribution of the sample means when
H. Making generalizations & abstractions about the sample size increases?
the lesson 2. What happens to the variance of the sampling distribution of the sample means when
the sample size increases?
3. What happens to the shape of the sampling distribution of the sample means when
the sample size increases?

I. Evaluating Learning The teacher will give an assessment. (see Extension on page 125)

J. Additional activities for application or

remediation

evaluation
B. No. of learners who require additional
activities for remediation who scored below
80%
C. Did the remedial lesson work? No. of
learners who caught up with the lesson
D. No. of learners who continue to require
remediation
E. Which of my teaching strategies worked
