Notification for Common Entrance Test for admission to

Ph.D. (December Session) Programmes for 2019-20
Applications are invited through online for Common Entrance Test for full-time/part-time Ph.D.
(December Session) programmes offered in the Departments / Affiliated Colleges / Research
Institutions of Periyar University for the Academic Year 2019 – 2020. The eligibility conditions
and other instructions are available in the University website:
www.periyaruniversity.ac.in
Those who have appeared for the Common Entrance Test alone will be
considered for the admission to Ph.D. programmes on merit basis

 INSTRUCTIONS TO HE FOLLOWED TO APPLY THROUGH ONLINE FOR Ph.D.
COMMON ENTRANCE TEST

1. Candidates are advised to carefully read the regulations of Ph.D. which is available in
the Website www.periyaruniversity.ac.in (Part time mode applicants are requested to
pay more attention before filling the applications)

2. Online application form must be completed in all respect as per notification.

3. For applying online application, the applicant’s should have scanned image of their
community certificate, PG mark statements, passport size photograph and signature to
upload the same in appropriate places.

4. A valid e-mail ID and Mobile Number are mandatory to apply for CET through online.
E-mail ID and Mobile Number are to be kept in active mode. All communication will be
sent to the registered email ID.

5. Steps to fill the application form:

Step 1 : Log in www.periyaruniversity.ac.in
Step 2 : Click Admission menu and then click Research submenu
Step 3 : Click on-line portal
Step 4 : Click Ph.D. Entrance Box
The application will be available
6. The application should be filled on-line only and the fee can be paid once all the
information filled in the application. The Examination fee for Common Entrance Test is
fixed Rs.250 for SC/ST and Differently-abled candidates, other candidates should pay
Rs. 500/. The certificate proof for community and differently-abled category should be
duly self-attested and uploaded.

7. After submitting the details in the application, applicant’s can choose any one of the
following modes for making payment of application fee.
a. Net Banking
b. Debit Card / Credit Card
8. After entering all details including the payment in the online application form, applicant
has to wait for receiving the intimation from the server. Meanwhile DO NOT press
“Back” or “Refresh” button to avoid payment failure or double Payment

9. The applicant can modify certain fields till the last date specified.

10. After supplying all the requisite information in the application and payment of fees
candidates are requested to take a printout of the filled in application form and submit
the same to the University along with the copies of the certificates uploaded either by
post or in person.

11. For entrance examination, candidates can download their online hall ticket from the
University website

12. The candidates those who are taking common entrance test for Ph.D. admission may not
be able to get admission without meet all the eligibility criterion.

13. The applicants ought to read the condition of eligibility as given is the Ph.D. regulations
2017. Applicants must satisfy themselves regarding their eligibility for Ph.D. entrance
test before filling the application form.

 14. Periyar University may change the centre, date of examination without assigning any
reason.

15. The decision of the University shall be final in all matters.

NOTIFICATION

1. Last date for submission of on-line application : 20.01.2020 before 5.00p.m

2. Last date for submission of printed version of the on-line application: 22.01.2020.
3. Candidates can download their Hall tickets from the portal using their application
number, Mail-ID and date of birth between 29.01.2020 to 01.02.2020.

Time : 10. 30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.
