THE TRADITION CONTINUES – SANTA’S BACK!

SANTA’S WORKSHOP is a great opportunity for your kids to independently participate in the joy of holiday gift
giving. They will be able to purchase inexpensive gifts for their friends and/or family members. Don’t let your kids
miss out on this popular and fun holiday event sponsored by Home & School. All Students Pre K – 8th will shop on
December 10, 2010. There is a limited amount of scholarship dollars available for Santa’s Workshop. Please
contact Karen Bursey by December 3rd if you are interested in these dollars.

The RAMS boys basketball teams are into the 2010 season. !We appreciate all of the supportive fans showing up for our home
games! !The annual Homecoming celebration will be the night of Dec. 2 with the varsity as our guest of honor. !B team will begin
play at 6:00; the junior varsity will follow at 7:00. !

Concessions and score table volunteer spots are still open. !Parents should commit one night of volunteer work each season. !
There will be many volunteer hours available when we host the JV league tournament from January 13-15.

What is Santa’s Workshop?

Santa’s Workshop is a fun way for your children to purchase gifts for their loved-ones right at
school. We have gifts for grandparents, parents, siblings, and other special people in their life.

When is Santa’s Workshop Open?

December 10, 2010 for children in PRE K – 8th

How much does it cost?

The workshop is packed with quality low-cost gifts priced at or below retail. Cost varies from
$2.00 to $8.00 dollars. Kids can pick up one gift or many, it’s up to you.

Where does the profit go?

Funds raised directly benefit the students and staff of Sacred Heart School. In previous years,
many specialty areas have been the recipient of the funds. It’s a great experience for the children
and one that will have lasting value in their education.

How can my child participate?

Fill out the form on the back side of this flyer and send it with your child on December 10, 2010
(include cash or check made out to SHS and enclose it in an envelope). Please use one slip
and one check per each child. Your child will return home with gifts ready for placement under
the tree. Change can either be donated or sent home with your child.

 Robotics: Creatures and Creations

programming fun is the PicoCricket®. Developed by Engineering: Crazy Action Contraptions
MIT Media Lab, the Pico Cricket is designed for making K-5th, Feb 17th-March 3rd, $45
artistic creations with lights, sound, music, and motion.
It is a tiny computer that can make things spin, light up, Students will explore hands-on activities
and play music. You can plug lights, motors, sensors, making crazy action contraptions. If you

Write and design your own comic book tales about princesses, goblins, genies and princes. Create
your own characters for your comic book scenes. Students working in pairs will use innovative comic
book software, digital art and photos to illustrate their story. Using cartooning and comic book design
skills create and design your own personal graphic short story. Students will use images, icons, tag
line symbols, clip art, audio clips and artwork into many different layout and design templates. Then
they will combine their creations with a personalized storyline to make their own comics. The
completed creations can then be posted to blogs and emailed to friends, or printed in a comic book
form. Be creative; be inspired in our class. Your imagination is your only limit. Students may bring a
USB jump drive the last day to take home their projects.
