Introduction

Decaying DC and harmonics often occur

during transient condition. What if differential
relay errs in estimating phasors/values
during that condition? What is the impact to
false differential current?

Methods

Case-1 : External fault

The lower the false differential current,

the more reliable..!!!

Conclusion
Cosine filter gives the most satisfying result
since it is not only eliminating harmonics but
also have good response against DC
component as well.
