ADMISSION POLICY
Linden Montessori reserves the right to admission. Admission will not be refused to any child because
of language, ethnic/cultural group or religion. We do however reserve the right of admission due to
capacity limits, age (if the child has had no previous Montessori background) and infectious diseases.

ASSESSMENT/REPORTS & COMMUNICATION

 One on one parent/teacher talks will be held once a year during the second term. Please
make effort to attend school meetings.
 A full written report will be handed on the last day of the school year (reports will not be
handed out unless fees are fully paid).
 Please feel free to arrange meetings during school hours if you want to chat about your
child’s progress or any other concerns during the course of the term.

HEALTH & MEDICATION

 If your child is showing any signs of illness or has a temperature, please do not send him/her
to school as it is unfair to the other children and teachers. If you are not sure whether or not
it is okay to bring your child, please call ahead to ask us. We may require a doctor’s decision
as to whether or not the child is contagious. We appreciate you co-operation in this matter.
 Please make sure that your child’s vaccinations are up to date.
 If possible, please try to schedule appointments with specialists and dentists after school
hours.
 We also recommend that all children take a multivitamin to boost their immune systems.
Please note that administration of vitamins is to be done at home.
 Please also de-worm your children every six months.
 Should staff feel the need for immediate treatment the parents will be notified to transport
their child to a suitable medical facility. If neither parent can be reached, the emergency
contact listed will be notified. Staff will call the nearest hospital if immediate and urgent
medical attention is needed. The medical indemnity form allows the school to seek
emergency medical treatment for your child.
 If medication is to be administered, please make sure you fill in the relevant details in the
Medication Register. No medication will be administered if you don’t complete the relevant
medicine register in the morning. The register must be completed daily for all medications
every day, even for all natural/homeopathic medicines.
 Please label all medication clearly. No child will be permitted to self-medicate on the school
premises.
 It is the parents’ responsibility to unpack all medicine required for the day – NO medication is
to be left in your child’s bag. If your child comes to school via taxi/bus and there is
medication in their bag, it is your responsibility to phone the school and advise us that there
is medication in a bag before 8am.
