ASSIGNMENT QUESTION

OBJECTIVE:
The assignment gives you an opportunity to read and discuss current issues and trends
related to curriculum development and practice to develop a course module for a course
of study to be implemented at your place of work.

INSTRUCTIONS:
You are required to complete all TWO parts of the assignment.

PART A

Educational institutions including schools are now entrusted to prepare students for the
demands of the future years in relation to skills, knowledge and values. It is hoped that
such students will be able to fulfill the demands of the emerging society around the
globe.

Review 2 -3 journal articles or chapters of a book on some of the latest issues and trends
related to curriculum development. Based on your reading, write a summary comprising
the following among other aspects:
• Discuss issues/trends related to curriculum development
• Actions that can be undertaken to meet these issues/trends in your own
institutions

This part of the assignment gives you practice at developing a module for a course of
study at your own institution. The course that you are developing should aim to
enhancing various skills needed to support future society.
