GOALS
What are goals? Most people forgot about that word, goals.
What are they and what’s their importance will represent the
main topic of this essay.
First of all lets take a look at what are they. Goals are that thing
that makes people move, that makes them wake up in the
morning, build empires, save thousands of people and many
more. Goals are the first part of MOTIVATION. Motivation is a
sum of WHAT, HOW and WHY and goals represent that WHAT.
Now why are goals so important. Let’s think what will happen to
a person without any things they want to achieve in life. Life will
push him around. He will live based on others opinions, views
and beliefs. Such a person can never be happy.
The main problem in the world we live in is that it teaches you to
think small and give up on your dreams. The society and
especially the school system build that idea in the young minds
that they should limit themselves.
All successful people have goals. And they had them before they
became successful. They had them written on a piece of paper
that’s how they reached that position. Because they dreamed
about it, visualized it and worked for it. They did small useful
consistent steps every day towards that goal. But nothing would
have happened if they didn’t set those goals in the first place.
Why do they write them on a piece of paper? Because your brain
needs to visualize it. If you can imagine something then it can
happen. You will find a way. Our brains evolved to make that
thing possible. We have a structure in our brain called the
reticular activator system which’s function is to filtrate the
information around us. How is that related to our goals. If you
have something written there that you want to have or to
achieve your brain will start searching for information towards
that. Why do successful people use a piece of paper and not a
computer. That’s because it takes more hand movements to
write something than it takes for typing it so it makes that thing
you want way more connected to your brain.
How big can these dreams be? So big that you can’t achieve it in
a lifetime. You can argue that some things can not realistically be
achieved like being immortal for example. The answer for that is
that no one would really want that or get sad when he’s been
told he can’t achieve it just like a slave who gets told he cant be
prime minister. But he might not like it when he will be told he
will be a slave for his entire life because he dreams of a free life.
So if you can think of something you really want, you can achieve
it.
In conclusion goals are important and people should act more
like a kid during Christmas when they are asked to write a list of
presents for Santa. Anything you want, write it down.
