1. How to activate the UAN Number
 Go to EPFO website https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/

1. How to activate the UAN Number
 Click on link “ Activate UAN”

• To activate UAN you need

 UAN Number
 PF Member Number
 Mobile number to be registered with
PF department
 Date of birth updated with PF
department

1. How to activate the UAN Number
 Getting the Authorization Pin to activate UAN ( Sent on Mobile)

 Fill the required details such as UAN, PF Number, Name (as per PAN Card), Mobile Number
and click on “Get Authorization Pin”. An “Activation Pin” will be sent to mobile number
mentioned by you, which will be registered further with PF office

 Verify the Details and activate UAN

 On completion of the process you will receive the login password on your registered mobile
number through SMS
 Once the UAN activated you get the message on the screen.
 Further to log-in to UAN portal click on “Go to Home

2. How to Change Log-in password(first time)
 Once you login to PF Portal using your UAN and password click on “Account” tab and visit
“CHANGE PASSWORD

 Enter the OLD PASSWORD and NEW PASSWORD and click on update to change the log-in
password

 Click on “ Forgot Your Password “

 Enter your UAN and CAPTCHA

 You will receive OTP from EPF website
a) enter mobile number for receiving OTP
b) having entered mobile number click on “YES”

 After Clicking on “Yes” System will prompt to next Option “ Get Authorized PIN”
( Depicts in next slide)

 You will receive an OTP on the Mobile Number entered by you earlier

a) Enter authorized PIN
b) Enter New Password on your Choice
c) Confirm the same Password
d) Click on Submit

 Open the URL : www.epfindia.gov.in
 Click on 'For Employees' in “OUR SERVICES” section
 Click on “Member Passbook” Option
 After clicking on above will get the following

 Enter UAN
 Enter Password
 Enter Captcha and click
Login

 Select the ID to download the Passbook

5. How to change Mobile number and Mail ID
 Once you login to PF Portal using your UAN and password click on “MANAGE” tab and visit
“Contact Details

 To change mobile number please tick on “Change Mobile No”, fill the mobile number you wish
to change and click on “Get authorization PIN
 Once you receive the authorization PIN, enter the same to confirm the mobile number is changed

6. How to update KYC in EPF portal
 Once you login to PF Portal using your UAN and password click on “MANAGE” tab and visit
“KYC

 Select the KYC you would like to update and provide the KYC details
exactly as mention in the KYC documents.
 To submit the KYC document click on “Save”.

7. How to reset password if registered mobile no lost
 Go to EPFO website https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/
 Click on to “Forgot Password” Option

 After clicking on forgot password option


following screen shall appear

Enter UAN

Enter Captcha

 After entering UAN and Captcha following information shall be asked

Click on “No”

 After Clicking on no option following screen shall appear

Enter Name
Enter DOB
Select Gender

 Enter AADHAAR/PAN which is updated as KYC

 Having entered KYC ( PAN or AADHAAR) following detail will be asked

click on verify
 After clicking on above verify button following detail shall be asked

Enter new password


Re-enter the
password

 A confirmation message will appear on Screen

( transfer/withdrawal/advance)
 Go to EPFO website https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/

 Log on to by using your UAN and Password

 Select the option you want by visiting to “Online Services” option

( transfer/withdrawal/advance)
 Verify your account number by putting last 4 digits of your account No

 Proceed for online claim ( Transfer/Advance/withdrawal)


 For withdrawal employee must
be unemployed
NOTE:-
 For transfer , previous employer
would have updated the DOL

8. How to rectify basic detail on UAN portal
 Go to EPFO website https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/
 Log on to by using your UAN and Password

 Select the option modify basic detail by through “manage” Option
