Some people think that nowadays everybody would prefer to work from
home. Others have quite a different point of view. This problem is worth
discussing.
In my opinion, people would work from offices or other work places. Firstly,
it motivates to get up early every day, take a shower and have a healthy breakfast
at home. It helps not to forget about things that should be done every day by
everyone. Secondly, while working people communicate with colleagues. It is a
very important part of socialization. So, working in offices, people can obtain
new expierence, relations and good emotions. This aspect is of great importance
for one's life.
However, some people believe that work from home has a lot of benefits.
There is no need to even leave the house to get to your workplace. Moreover,
being at home, you can do anything you want while working.
To my mind, it is really important to work in organizations that do not permit
to work from home. Sometimes home seems to be a nice place to work. But
spending a work day socializing is more productive.
To conclude, I would like to say that work from home may cause really bad
consequences. I wish everybody would treat it with understanding.

- строить высказывания в соответствии с предложенным планом;

- начинать введение с общего представления темы и предложения,
отображающего ее проблемный характер;
- во введении необходимо перефразировать тему/проблему, используя
синонимичные выражения;
- в основной части сначала высказать свое мнение и аргументировать его,
затем представить точки зрения других людей и дать аргументацию, почему
с ними не согласны;
- приводя контраргументы, отстаивая свою точку зрения, желательно
использовать перифраз, синонимию;
- в заключительном абзаце еще раз указать на проблемный характер темы,
показать, что вы способны видеть и другие точки зрения, тем не менее ваша
кажется вам более убедительной;
- делить текст на абзацы, которые отражают содержательную и логическую

Nowadays it is rather hard to choose the right profession for young people
because there are so many occupations in the world. Some teenagers simply
follow in their parents’ footsteps when choosing a career without thinking
through. However, some people think that choosing a profession should depend
on interests and individual qualities.
As for me, I think a person should choose a profession independently. To
begin with, people are different let alone their interests, so consideration one’s
strong points and individual qualities when choosing a profession is very
important. Furthermore, if a person chooses the career he or she is fond of, the
likelihood of becoming successful and independent is higher because this person
will always know what to do and never leave things half done.
On the other hand, some people claim that following in parents’ footsteps
when choosing a profession gives more chances to gain success easily and fast. In
their mind, parents will always help and encourage their children with the
occupation, so the first steps of a career ladder will be easy.
I cannot agree with these people. If a person chooses the career he or she
really likes and will never give up on anything, becoming successful will be a
matter of time because one will do the best to achieve great accomplishments.
To sum up, I would say that picking the right profession is very important.
The occupation that tailors to one’s interests and hobbies will bring a lot of
satisfaction and help become a successful person.

Friendship has always been a sensitive issue. Some think it is easier to make
friends than to keep them, others disagree that the first contact is the hardest step.
I tend to agree with the former for two main reasons. The first one is the fact
that people tend to grow weary of each other. It happens to all: couples, parents
and children, friends and all the other relationship members you can imagine.
You can avoid this by finding a lasting common interest, but it rarely happens
and is more of a luck matter than of anything else. The second one is that you
cannot show all of your character upon first contact. You and your friend will
keep discovering each other's character features for a very long time after you
meet, and they are rarely the good ones, so the discovery of those cannot enhance
the relationship in most cases.
However, there are people that argue that the first contact is the most crucial
and demanding step of developing a friendship. They say it requires a lot of effort
to approach a person unknown to you and make a positive impression on him or
her.
I cannot agree with them, though. Nowadays you can easily approach
someone via social media without putting yourself under any kind of stress,
which allows you to create the impression you want to create. If you want to
make your approach in real life, social media can still help you gather some
helpful intelligence on the person you are aiming to befriend, and, as a wise man
once said, the plan is only as good as the intel it was based on.
To conclude, it is safe to say that keeping a friend is far far harder than
making one. Technology pretty much cannot help you with the former, but it
provides great assistance with the latter making it a whole lot easier.

Today some people believe that pollution caused by human isn’t that
significant. Others are convinced that we should be more careful because our
technologies become dangerous to all the living creatures on Earth.
In my opinion, nature can’t resist to all the damage that people cause and you
should keep in mind that progress never stops and the situation keeps getting
worse until we do some measures concerning protection of nature. Moreover,
there are thousands of factories around the world and they are harmful to all
creatures living nearby. But the most dangerous thing is that ozone depletion
caused by human interference could make all living organisms extinct.
But some people are convinced that we shouldn’t bother that much about
nature. They believe that human aren’t powerful enough to cause any significant
damage to things around them. They also say that we could keep exploiting
natural resources and nothing bad will happen.
I disagree with this point of view because these people fail to understand that
current technologies should be wisely used but most individuals aren’t
responsible enough to do that. And people do cause damage to nature and there
are scientific evidence telling us that.
Taking everything into consideration, there are two different points of view
on that problem. I’m convinced that nature can’t resist forever and we should do
some measure to improve the current situation.

Summer reading is a lasting problem for schools. Some say it is wrong to
make pupils read much in summer, others argue that it is a positive thing rather
than a negative one.
I tend to agree with the former for two main reasons. The first one is that
obligation makes kids hate things they are obliged to do, especially such boring
thing for kids as reading books. Back when I had to deal with this, all of my peers
loathed literature for that very reason, and that is by no means a good thing. The
second one is the fact that kids are obliged to read not just any books, but the
classic books that were never written for kids, so even if they do read those
books, they hardly understand anything.
However, there are people that think the pupils' attitude does not matter and
the books accomplish the task of teaching them the language anyway, so there is
nothing wrong with making the kids read a lot in summer and in general. They
also say that it teaches discipline.
I cannot totally agree with them, though. Indeed, classic literature usually
teaches good language and having to read it might teach you discipline, but is it
acceptable at a cost of total disrespect and hatred for the pupil's own country's
heritage or any literature at all which naturally develop in him because of those
unneeded obligations? Definitely not.
To conclude it is safe to say that making pupils read a lot in summertime will
not bring us any good now or in the future and this should be changed.

There are people who believe that teenagers lose interest in reading poetry.
Others are convinced that children read a lot and that demand to different types of
books only grows.
In my opinion, young people don’t read poetry too much nowadays. They
have many other alternatives. Take, for example, series of seven epic fantasy
novels written by the British author J. K. Rowling «Harry Potter». Children
throughout the world read the series or at least heard about them from their
friends. Moreover, reading isn’t the most popular hobby among kids. Most of
them spend time playing computer games or watching movies. So it would be
problematic to explain the importance of reading poetry to them.
But there are people who believe that young people read a lot of poetry
nowadays. They say that school program gives them access to all the types of
books. They are convinced that reading is the main hobby for most of the kids.
I cannot agree with the opinions above as these people fail to understand that
poetry books don’t become popular just because teenagers are told to read them
at school. Most of them don’t like reading at all. I’m sure that teenagers are
mostly interested in other entertainments.
Taking everything into consideration, there are two different points of view
on that problem. I believe that reading poetry isn’t that popular among young
people because they have many other entertainments.

Friendship has always been a sensitive issue. When speaking of it, some say
visiting your friends rarely enhances your friendship, others argue the key is
maximizing the time you spend together.
I tend to agree with the latter for two main reasons. The first one is the
concept of friendship itself. Memories are what holds the relationship together,
and they cannot be obtained with the friends being separated. The second one is
that spending time together allows the friends to get to know each other better,
which is helpful for a relationship rather than not.
However, there are people that think spending too much time together does
the friendship more harm than it does good. They say the friends can grow weary
of each other and it can ruin ther relationship.
I cannot agree with them, though. The people that have enough in common
are pretty much guaranteed not to have enough of each other at any point, and
those who do not are not a great pair to develop a true friendship.
To conclude, it is safe to say that enjoying time spent together is the key to
building and supporting a friendship between people and always will be.

Learning a foreign language is a sensitive issue nowadays. Some say you can
master one only abroad, others argue that travelling is not necessary.
I for myself tend to agree with the latter for two main reasons, with first of
them being my own experience of learning English: I have passed a Cambridge
exam and now have a certificate that says "has mastered the language", and I am
not alone, there were about twenty people in my language school who have done
the same. The second one also comes from experience, but a different one: while
I was travelling, I noticed that the native English-speakers make a lot of mistakes
and are totally fine with it, so if you learn from them, you are sure to get quite a
few things wrong. It is better to find a certified teacher, which is entirely possible
without travelling.
However, there are people who consider it impossible to learn a language
without having to speak it all the time, which means travelling abroad. They say
there can never be enough focus on the language when you have to speak it only
a few hours a week.
I cannot agree with them, though, because I have proven myself, as
mentioned before, that going abroad is not needed. As long as you have time,
discipline and a capable teacher, you will master the language you have decided
to learn without having to deal with countless issues of travelling abroad to learn.
To conclude, it is safe to say that you can master a language without studying
it abroad if you really want to.

Some say that exams give students motivation to study harder. Others argue
that they provide unnecessary pressure and accomplish nothing.
I for myself tend to agree with the former. I consider myself a lazy, but a
responsible person, so when there is an exam or a job to be done, I do my best,
otherwise I lean towards wasting time and having fun and I am sure I am not the
only one like that, so there is a certain number of students that study hard mainly
to pass the upcoming exams. Moreover, the exams let the students see how well
they are actually doing, which is quite important in my opinion.
However, there are people that think the students' performance can be
undermined by the fear of the exam that they naturally feel. They might also add
that learning a subject may be funneled into exam preparation which reduces the
knowledge students are left with at the end of the course.
I can't agree with those statements for two main reasons. Firstly, the fear
actually stimulates students to work harder because a student that studied all that
he had to is sure to pass a properly designed exam. Secondly, the composition of
the exam should require all the knowledge the students' course had to offer, so
the "funneling" problem comes not from the concept of an exam, but from how it
is implemented, which is often done wrong due to the human factor.
To conclude, it is safe to say that education cannot be without exams that
work as a stumul for students to work and a measure of their succes.

As for me, I think learning languages has many advantages. To begin with, it
helps travel around the world and communicate with people from different
nations. Furthermore, the people who speak more than one language are likely to
get a higher-paid job than those who do not have foreign language skills. Finally,
learning languages improves one’s memory and broaden mind.
On the other hand, some people think that learning foreign languages is a
waste of time and money. In their mind, foreign language skills are not necessary
either in travelling abroad or in getting a good job.
I cannot agree with these people. Knowing at least one foreign language is a
must for everybody who wants to make a good career and gain success because
technological advances such as the Internet, cellular phones, computers improved
the way different countries cooperate and conduct business.
To sum up, I would say that learning foreign languages is very important.
Not only is it a great way to spend time and relax, but it also can easily help
become successful and make a good career.
