“The House Committee has received several complaints from
the MLAs regarding the food quality and also being served there.
The concerned officers were apprised about the matter and they
had been called for a meeting which could not be held due to some
reasons,” said the Committee member MLA.
The member MLA said that the meeting will soon be fixed and
both sides would be heard. “And if the MLAs wanted to add a par-
ticular food of their choice, then we will see whether it is feasible
and at what rates it can be made available to them,” added the mem-
ber MLA.
Besides Deputy Speaker Bhatti, who is the ex-officio chairman
of the panel, Congress MLAs Amrik Singh Dhillon, Harjot Kamal,
Pargat Singh, Ramanjit Singh Sikki, and Sukhwinder Singh Danny,
along with Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Aman Arora, and Principal
Budh Ram, in addition to Shiromani Akali Dal’s (SAD) NK Sharma.
Notably, the main functions of the House Committee are to deal
with all matters relating to residential accommodation of members,
exercise supervision over facilities for accommodation, telephone,
food, medical aid and other amenities accorded to members, besides
considering and providing such amenities to members as may be
deemed necessary from time-to-time.
