AMENDMENT TO THE ANDHRA PRADESH STATE & SUBORDINATE SERVICE RULES.
[G.O.Ms. No. 674, General Administration (Services-D), 30th October, 2008.]
In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of Constitution of India, the Governor of
Andhra Pradesh hereby makes the following amendments to the Andhra Pradesh State and Subordinate Service
Rules, 1996, issued in G.O.Ms.No. 436, General Administration (Services-D) Department, dated the 15th October,
1996 and as subsequently amended from time to time.
AMENDMENTS
In the said rules,-
1) In rule-22, in sub-rule (2),-
(i) in clause (a), for the words “twenty five”, the words “twenty nine” and for the words “fifty four” the
words “fifty” shall be substituted;
(ii) in clauses (b), (c), (d) for the words “fifty four” wherever it occurs the words “fifty” shall be substituted;
(iii) in clause (c), for the words “fifty one”, the words “forty seven” shall be substituted;
(iv) in clause (d), for the words “forty nine”, the words “forty five” shall be substituted;
(v) in clause (e), against Serial No. 19 for the words “Open Competition” the words “Backward Class (Group-
E) - Women”, against the Serial No. 44 for the words “Open Competition - Women” the words “Back-
ward Class (Group-E)”, and also against Serial Nos. 69 & 94 for the words “Open Competition” the
words “Backward Class (Group-E)” shall be substituted.

(vi) In clause (f), the following shall be added at the end namely,-
“The reservation in the case of Backward Class (Group-E) shall be in force for the period commencing
from the 7th July, 2007 to 31st May, 2011”;
(vii) in clauses (g), (h), (i), for the words “Backward Classes (Group.A), (Group.B), (Group.C), and as the
case may be (Group.D)” wherever it occurs, the expression “Backward Classes (Group.A), (Group.B,)
(Group.C), (Group.D), and as the case may be (Group.E)” shall be substituted.
(viii) in clause (i) for the figure “52%” wherever it occurs the figure “56%” shall be substituted;
(ix) in the proviso to clause (i) after the words Backward Classes (Group-D), the words
“4% for Backward Classes (Group-E)”, shall be inserted;
(x) in the Note-1 under clause (k), the following shall be added at the end, namely,
“and in respect of Backward Class (Group-E) shall be with effect from 7th July, 2007”.
2 In rule 22-A, in sub-rule (2), after the words “Backward Classes (Group-D)” the words “Backward Classes
(Group-E)”shall be inserted.
3 In Schedule-I in Part-C after the heading, Group-D (other classes) and entries thereunder, the following shall
be inserted, namely’-

1. Achchukattalavandlu, Singali, Singamvallu, Achchupanivallu, Achchukattuvaru, Achukatlavandlu,

Syed, Saiyed, Sayyad, Mushaik;
Mughal, Moghal;
Pathans;
Irani;
Arab;
Bohara, Bohra;
Shia Imami Ismaili, Khoja;
Cutchi-Memon;
Jamayat;
Navayat;
and all the synonyms and sub-groups of the excluded groups;
and except those who have been already included in the State List of Backward Classes”.
