Just to Refresh

In Section C (writing),

 two questions are given.


 Pupils need to choose and answer only one question.
 A picture/ pictures with a few words or phrases will be
given.
 Pupils need to study the picture and the words/phrases
given.
 Pupils need to form sentences based on the picture(s) and
words/phrases given.
 Pupils may or may not use all the words/phrases given.
 Pupils need to elaborate the sentences.
 Pupils need to write in paragraphs.
 The number of word count must be between 80-100 words.
 The total of marks for this section is 25 marks.
 For beginner-intermediate level, pupils are advised to form
simple and compound sentences.
 Pupils need to master pronouns and common
prepositions, common verbs with proper tenses and a few
commonly used adjectives too. (basic grammar)

What can you find in a sentence?.

Articles, nouns and verbs are basic items


found in a sentence.

• The girl walked.

A sentence may have nouns and adjective


only.

• The pretty girl.

Adjectives, adverbs, prepositions of time


and place can be added to a sentence too.

• The pretty tall girl walked

Sentences can be divided into three types.

• Simple
