INTRODUCTION
The project addresses the opportunities and challenges in restructuring a city’s ecological
environment and economical benefits. To reduce or eliminate obstacles we observe a
collaborative model through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) utilized here; PPP creates an
governmental and publicized framework in which the government sectors provide strategic
profits to the private sectors, while the private entities implement and develop the public
sector's plan. From this analysis we point out that there are three key elements for the success
of the project:
(1) Consensus between Public and Private sectors,
(2) The type of User group,
(3) Participation of academic institutions.

NEED FOR THE PROJECT

● Transit hubs are no longer simply a place where the traveler arrives or departs. The
facilities in and around the hub make the area a destination itself and can provide a ripple
effect that encourages investment in the area, generates new revenue streams and boosts
wider prosperity. Trustworthiness in public transport is of great importance today. Citizens who
uses public buses waste a lot of time waiting for the bus at bus stop. In daily operation of a bus
system, the movement of buses is affected by unknown conditions as the day progresses such
as traffic or dispatching buses at irregular time from the depot. If people travelling by bus get
exact location of bus and the approximate arrival time based on normal traffic conditions and
also the count of passengers in bus it will increase the trustworthiness in the public transport.
● Bus Terminus renovation in Smart-city planning planing of Vellore.
● Coimbatore, Madurai, Vellore.

● Public - Private sector implementation, can be an effective way to build and implement
new infrastructure or to renovate, operate, maintain or manage
existing transport infrastructure facilities. In both areas PPPs can be a mutually beneficial way
to solve critical transportation problems.

● Many governments seek to attract private finance for infrastructure through public-
private partnerships (PPPs) in order to maintain investment at the same time as limiting public
spending. Experience with PPPs has, however, been mixed. Some transport PPP projects have
delivered major cost savings but many more have exceeded their budgets. PPPs are prone to
overestimating revenues and when projects run into financial difficulty, risks have a tendency
to revert to the taxpayer.
● It assesses the fiscal impact of PPPs and discusses budget procedures and accounting
rules to limit the public liabilities they can create. (Reviewing the relative merits of tolls,
availability payments and regulated asset base models for attracting finance for public
infrastructure from private investors on a sustainable basis.)
