Mechanics in Parade of Characters

a. A preliminary selection of characters will be done during the parade. The


criteria for judging are accuracy of impersonation – 30%, costume – 30%,
presence /projection – 30% and audience impact – 10%.
b. Those who will be chosen from the preliminary will qualify to the
presentation of Characters which will be done after the Parade.
c. During the presentation of characters, each contestant will be given one
minute to perform his/her routine or speech that could represent their
chosen characters.
d. The speech must be delivered from memory; no notes, prompting or
scripts shall be permitted.
e. The contestant must remain standing at all times during the performance.
f. The impersonation should recreate the characters in the selection through
the use of voice, gesture, and facial expression.
g. Characters in the story should be consistently portrayed from the whole
duration of the program.
h. The contestant should display an understanding of the mood and emotion
of the characters.
