Recent reports from World Health Organization (WHO) ‫)ئال ئ‬WHO(‫ئ‬ ‫ئدبعلب‬ ‫ال اه ئتقلر ئحه ث ئصلةي ئ رئ ا ئدبي‬

confirmed that Novel (new) Coronavirus (nCoV-2019) is a ‫دبف د وائدبمددل تئ(اييواددل)ئدبفه دده ئةددتئتددالب ئ ه دده ئ ددرئ د وائ‬
new strain of coronavirus that was first identified in a
‫ئ ل ددةئفو ئ د ئاد ئ ف ي د ئ ددرئحددلا ئدابمالددل ئ‬ ‫اييواددلئتددائدبمع د‬
cluster of pneumonia cases in Wuhan City, Hubei Province
‫ئ‬ ‫ئووةل ئ قلجع ئةي ئدبي‬ ‫دب اييئا ئ ه‬
of China.

In addition, cases were confirmed in several cities in china, ‫ل ئدلعئلصل ل ئ‬،‫ا لئتائتأا هئظالييئلصل ل ئا ئ ه ئ ه ئالا تئ لإل‬
and confirmed cases in several countries outside China,

including Thailand, Japan, South Korea and the United
States. More cases may appear in more countries in the ‫ئودبيا ل ئدب م ه ئوقه ئتاال ئلصل ل ئا ئةو ئالا ت ئا ئ‬ ‫دبف ي‬
future.

Most of the cases have had exposure to a large seafood ‫ئدبب ر ئ‬ ‫ئبل أايا‬ ‫يق ئاب‬ ‫ئ تبط ئو لا ل ئ‬ ‫عاا ئدب لا‬
and animal market, suggesting a possible zoonotic origin
‫عئثبي ئ‬ ‫ئةيئدب يد‬ ‫لئ ش ئللعئال ئ شأئدبفلا‬ ‫ئ‬ ‫ودب يدال‬
to the outbreak, and with proved human-to-human

transmission.

According to the information available up to date, the ‫ئحم ئدآل ئقل تئحكي ئدبي رئ إغالقئ‬ ‫جبقلئبل علي ل ئدب مي‬
Chinese government has temporarily closed all forms of ‫ئووةل ئ ف عئداكلباللئ شكلئ‬ ‫ئا ئ ه‬ ‫عئدب يدصال ئدبعل‬
public transportation in Wuhan, but the World Health
‫ئائتيصتئ أيئحا ئبل ف ئالوئ‬ ‫ئدبعلب‬ ‫ؤقت ئدائد ئ ا ئدبي‬
Organization does not recommend any travel or trade

restriction with other cities in China or with other

countries with reported cases.
Clinical Feature: :‫األعراض والعالمات السريرية‬

Most of the cases have shown respiratory symptoms, ‫ئوديتفلت ئا ئةي ئ‬ ‫ئبه الل ئد دض ئت ف‬ ‫عاا ئداصل ل ئظال‬

fever, shortness of breath and pneumonia. ‫ قئا ئدبم فسئودبمالل ئيايي ئ‬،‫دب دي ئو‬

Treatment: ‫العالج‬

Currently, there is no known treatment or vaccine ‫ئ‬ ‫ائ ي هئحلب لئديئ الجئالوئبقلحئ ع و ئتيدمئبلبش ئالوئبل يدال‬
available for either people or animals. Intensive supportive

care with the treatment of symptoms is the main

Surveillance Case Definition :‫تعريف الحالة لغرض الرصد‬

Suspected nCoV-2019 is defined as: :‫الحالة المشتبهة‬

A person with acute respiratory illness (fever with cough ‫ قئ‬،‫ئدوئ‬/‫ئ عئتعل ئو‬ ‫ضئت ف تئحلةئ(ح‬ ‫اخصئ يل ئ‬
and/or shortness of breath) and any of the following:
‫ ئ‬: ‫دبم فس)ئواليئ رئدبملل‬
 A history of travel to China in the 14 days prior to
symptoms onset. ‫ئ ي لئقبلئظالييئدا دض ئ‬14‫تلر خئدب ف ئدلعئدبي رئا ئ‬ 

 A close physical contact* in the past 14 days with a

‫ ئ عئحلب ئ ؤاه ئ‬،‫ئ ي لئدب ل‬14‫دتيل ئوث قئاال ئد ئ‬ 
confirmed case of nCoV-2019 infection.
Confirmed 2019-nCoV is defined as: :‫الحالة المؤكدة‬

A Confirmed case is defined as a suspected case with ‫ةتئحلب ئ شمبال ئتائتأا هةلئ خبر ل ئ‬

laboratory confirmation of nCoV-2019 infection.

Laboratory diagnosis: :‫التشخيص المخبري‬

At this stage, the laboratory testing for 2019-nCoV is ‫ئ‬nCoV-2019‫ا ئةذىئدب حل ئ مائد دمئداامبليد ئدب ع ل ئ ئ‬
performed at the national public health lab ONLY. All
‫عئ‬ ‫ئ ما ئديتل ئ‬ ‫ا ئدب خمب ئدبيج ت ئدب عم ه ئفقط ئو ل‬
samples from suspected cases should be send to Dubai

Health Authority lab Testing is performed to confirm a

unknown. But the recommendation is to ensure that the ‫ئا ئ‬ ‫ئدبعهوتئدوئ رئ ي ئ‬ ‫لبمأا هئ عئد ئ قيمئ ر قئ كل‬
infection control team or its representative in every health ‫ر ئ لتبلت ئد دمد ئ‬ ‫ئ ل ئ قيم ئدبعل ل ر ئدبي‬ ‫ال ئ شأى ئص‬
care facility following contact and droplet precautions, and ‫ئ‬ ‫ئدبعهوتئدبمتئت مقلئ رئجر قئدبمال سئودب ذدذئب كل‬ ‫كل‬

handling 2019-nCoV patient (suspected/
