This Bulletin cancels and replaces Bulletin number FNA - 22 that was sent on 9/28/2005.
SUBJECT: OBDII Diagnostic Socket

In order to comply with OBDII standard SAE J1962 an extra ground pin must be added
to the existing OBD II connector located under the dashboard on the below mentioned
vehicles:

• 575 Maranello
• 550 Maranello
• 360 Modena
• 360 Spider
• 355 (all models)
• 456 (all models)
• Enzo

For the list of specifically affected vehicles, please check the MODIS CS system to
be sure that the vehicle is part of this service campaign and/or that the service
campaign has not already been performed.

Shown below is the existing OBD II connector in the above mentioned models. Pin 5 is
a ground signal. Pin 4 slot is currently empty. This campaign consists of adding a pin to
Pin 4 slot and by means of the provided Scotchloc, making a joint to Pin5.

Installation:

1. Remove the 2 fastening screws


securing the OBDII connector as
shown

Please note that on all vehicles


mentioned above the OBD II
connector is located on the RHS of
the steering column under the
dashboard.

2. Please note that for 355 (all


models) you must reposition the
ignition key buzzer to gain access
to the securing screws as shown

3. Using a small screwdriver remove
the blue retaining clip that
secures Pins 1-8 as shown;

4. After crimping the new connector


to the wire provided, insert the pin
into slot 4 as shown;

5. Reinstall the blue retaining clip as
shown

6. Remove some of the black


electrical tape on the OBD II
harness to expose the Pin5 wire

7. Using the provided Scotchloc,
insert the wires as shown, press
firmly down on the metal blade
piercing the wires and close the
retaining clip.

8. Remount the connector under the dashboard and ensure that the wiring harness
is routed properly.
