TRUE MINISTRIES CHURCH

MAINTAINING A PURE HEART

Things are happening! Things are exploding!! It’s almost like you can’t keep up with the things
that God is doing right now. Things are moving rapidly. Things are intense! In every area. One
of the things the Spirit shared with me this morning was to make sure that you maintain a pure
heart. Maintaining a pure heart is what will keep God’s presence. Many times you don’t even
realize when your heart has become hardened. There are areas where you can begin to test
yourself and tell where your heart has become hardened. Number one is rebellion. Are you
rebellious? Well then your heart is hard. And you don’t even realize it. You may think well I
want to do the things of God—I want to do this and I want to do that. But the heart is hard.
Why? Because what you are saying is not what you are doing. The Spirit said to me this
morning that he wanted to share some things of maintaining a pure heart. It’s so important! God
is pouring out his Spirit big time. Big time! The only way to maintain his presence is to keep
your heart from becoming hardened. One of the things He shared with me a few minutes ago
was that some just come to get the word—but I’m telling you, come to get the Spirit! Because if
you are not coming to get the Spirit, the word isn’t going to work. You can hear the word all day
long, study the word, and still do the wrong thing. Why? Because it’s not by might, nor by
power, but by my Spirit—and it’s important to understand that. You are not here to get the word,
you are here to get the Spirit! Once you get the Spirit, then you can get the word. Because the
Spirit is going to digest the word. That’s how it becomes the sword of the Spirit. Remember
Jesus was Spirit before he became flesh. He was the word ahead of time but he was still Spirit,
wasn’t he—He was God! So what he did was he came into the world. The Holy Spirit
impregnated Mary—so Jesus’ Father was the Spirit. Then he put on flesh, which was the word.
So it’s the Spirit first and then the word. If you are building on the word it will crumble.
Because the Spirit is what gives you strength and then you build with the word. The Spirit is the
foundation of your life. That means your relationship with the Lord, in the Spirit, is your
foundation. People go to bible schools and bible colleges and seminary—They go to all of these
things and learn knowledge but they can’t practice it because they don’t have the Spirit. That’s
why God is pouring out his Spirit right now! Because there are a lot of his children out there that
know the word, but they are not doing the right thing! Now he is pouring out his Spirit to get the
Spirit in them so that they can do the things that God has told them to do. So it’s an honor and
blessing—think about how many have been left—think about how many people you know that
are not in God’s will. But they knew God. And then they walked away. That’s why God is
drawing all men unto him. Everywhere. That’s why the anointing is here. That’s why there is
the pouring out of the Spirit all over. Why? Because he is bringing them! You are going to
have that spirit of religion that’s going to say, I don’t need the Spirit. I’ve got the word. That’s
where the bible says the Spirit brings life and the letter kills you. Why? Because you can’t obey
it, so it’s going to kill you. It’s those who do the will of God. Why wait until your last breath to
accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and repent? Why not do it now!! Why wait until
you go home to get judged. Let God judge you right now! Today! Stand in front of him and let
him judge you. And let’s get started! God doesn’t lie! He wants you to walk in the
supernatural. Not in the natural. You don’t belong here. You don’t belong in this realm! This
is not our home! Don’t make it your home—don’t get comfortable in this place! You don’t
belong here. I don’t belong here—and I thank God we are going home soon!

-1-
PSALM 24:1-6
The earth is the LORD’s, and all its fullness—That means he is the owner. The world and those
who dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the waters.
Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who may stand in His holy place? Or His holy
presence. He who has clean hands—Now this means touch. What you have touched. This
doesn’t just mean physically. It means spiritually. What you have come in agreement with.
What did you touch spiritually? That has caused your hands not to be clean? Of course you
know there is a physical touch also. He who has clean hands and a pure heart—Why? Because
what you touch will either defile your heart or keep it clean. Who has not lifted up his soul to an
idol, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive blessing from the LORD—Are you receiving
blessing from the Lord? Praise God! That means you are in position. He shall receive blessing
from the LORD and righteousness from the God of his salvation. This is Jacob, the generation
of those who seek Him, who seek Your face. Who seek him! That means to go after him.
Remember we talked about this before. There are many people who try to find God in the word
instead of finding God personally. You find God yourself! You go to him personally. Then he
will bring you to the word. To confirm. The word goes out as the seed. You can go out and
preach and plant a seed. Right. For salvation. When someone accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and
Savior the next move is to get filled with the Holy Ghost. So that the Mentor can teach them the
word! Many people read the word and don’t even understand it. It’s not truth, it’s just
knowledge then. Then they are not free—and they are constantly being deceived.

2 CORINTHIANS 6:16-18
Now I didn’t tell you not to read your word. In fact, we’re using the word right now. Now what
does clean hands mean? What you touch. Where? Spiritually. And where is that? Your
thoughts! How about what you touch with your eyes? How about what you touch with your
ears? Can that defile your heart? YES!! I want to share something about your heart. Your heart
is the character of your spirit. That’s why the bible says out of your mouth speaks your heart.
That lets you know whether your spirit is contaminated or not. In verse 16, And what agreement
has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I
will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”
Therefore “Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is
unclean, and I will receive you.” “I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and
daughters, says the LORD Almighty.” So he says something very profound—it’s awesome! He
says what agreement—in other words, what have you come into agreement with. What have you
touched? What have you touched in your thoughts? What have you touched with your eyes?
What have you come into agreement with? Did the enemy tell you, Oh this is never going to
work. And you said, Okay. Did he tell you that you couldn’t do something? Did you agree that
you couldn’t—when the bible says you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
When the bible says He who is in me is greater than he who is in the world and says I’m more
than a conqueror! He is placing his image in you when you come into agreement with it. Then
you become a slave to him. Then we fight and wonder what’s going on. Why am I doing what
I’m doing? Because you have come into agreement with the voice of the stranger. By coming in
agreement with the voice of the stranger you have touched something unclean. You saw
something you should not have. Driving around you can’t help it. The lust of the world is all
around. So everything you see here—no matter what—whether you turn on the television or turn
on anything—you can be driving down the road to get milk and there is a naked person trying to

-2-
sell a cow! It’s ridiculous. satan is the ruler of this world. He is always trying to get you to
agree with what his image is. So what we do then is we receive the inheritance from him, the
end result of which is death and destruction. Remember the devil comes to steal, kill and
destroy. So when you touch and agree with him he has legal access to come and steal, to come
and kill and to come and destroy. You are allowing it!! God says, My people are destroyed for
lack of knowledge. Why? Because you don’t know how to fight. You are playing religion.
Religion won’t save you! You have to take out the Holy Ghost bazooka! You cannot out run the
devil. You must turn around and fight him face to face. Or else he will take dominion in your
house, in your heart and in your mind. So right now God is saying, Who can dwell in my
presence? He who has clean hands and a pure heart. We must maintain a pure heart. In other
words, we cannot allow it to be hardened. We must maintain the purity of heart.

JAMES 4:1-8
Now if you believe God is speaking to you, He is! Don’t deny it. Take it and use it. Remember
the Lord said that he is going to expose the devil’s tactics. The devil moves from one thing to
another to get us to try and do stuff. But I’m telling you the Holy Spirit is one step ahead every
time. The bible tells us that the Spirit tells us all things and guides us into all truth. So if you are
truly listening you are ahead of the devil. You are supposed to be ahead of the devil. James 4:1,
Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for
pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and
cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do
not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. Wow. There is
that fight within you. You can try and convince yourself but God knows your heart. Lord—
bless me with that million bucks and I’ll give you … some of it!! We try and convince ourselves.
I’m doing the right thing—God knows my heart. Yes he does!! And he is trying to expose it to
you. But in the mind we are always trying to convince ourselves. That’s the voice of the
stranger always trying to convince you that you’re okay. That you are a good person. But the
bible tells us that our own righteousness is nothing but filthy rags. We are not alright! None of
us is alright! The only place we are right is in Him! Other than that we are a bunch of
boneheads! So in order to maintain right, we have to be in Him to be right. So where do these
fights come from? Within! It says in verse 4, Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know
that friendship with the world is enmity with God? So when you touch and agree with the world
you become a friend of it. Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an
enemy of God. Not that God is your enemy—you are His! Why? Because he can’t trust you.
Every time he tries to get something to you, the devil steals it ahead of time because you are out
of position. That’s why the Spirit is being poured out all over—you may not even understand
why you are here today. And you don’t have to. The important thing is that you are. God is
trying to get something to you, not take something from you. He is trying to get something to
you—in every area! It doesn’t matter how old you are. He doesn’t look at age. He doesn’t look
at how young or how old. He looks at you as the image of his child—and how much he loves
you and wants to bless you. He wants to get you armed up, filled up until you are a walking
grenade against the kingdom of darkness. Not a self-destructive one. Okay, verse 5, Or do you
think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”? But He
gives more grace. Which means favor—more of God’s plan to prosper. He gives more of these
things. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Now let me
share with you, one of the great enemies against a pure heart is pride. P.R.I.D.E. Personal

-3-
reverence into a deadly end. It’s a killer. Most people don’t even know when they are involved
in pride. You fight pride every day. With every decision you make, pride is there. Remember
pride protects self. Fear protects pride. Anger protects fear. What does Jesus say? If you want
to be his disciple you must first deny your self. So if you can’t deny yourself it means you are
coming into agreement with something. In other words, there is something unclean. Your
heart’s not pure. Why? Because it’s promoting rebellion. A hardened heart is being promoted.
Why? Because there is rebellion towards things. Look how he explains this. Go to verse 7,
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. In other words, if you can’t
submit to God, you can’t resist the devil. There are people trying to kick the devil out of their
house and he doesn’t have to go. Why? Because there has not been submission to God yet.
When you submit to God, then the devil will go. You can’t try to command the devil to leave
your house, because he’s coming right back! You move him out to the front door and he will
move to the back! You will kick him out of one room and he will go to another room. You
cannot remove the powers of darkness from you until you submit to God. There are people
spiritually fighting—going crazy— If they would just submit they would find that the powers of
darkness would flee. And they will stop killing, stealing and destroying. He says, Draw near to
God and He will draw near to you. That means submit. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and
purify your hearts, you double-minded. Why? Because you are agreeing with the world. You
are double-minded. You are unstable. God is trying to get us into this position. So if you feel
convicted today, that’s good! But don’t let guilt beat you up. What you do is you repent and get
in position. That’s what it’s about. Your Daddy loves you!

PSALM 51:10-13
We are going to expose the enemy. How many of you want to be blessed! Well you have to
walk in God’s presence. That’s where it’s happening. Here’s brother David—look how he cries
out. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me
away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. He got revelation! David
knew about maintaining a pure heart! Even though he made mistakes, he was repentant. Of
course, every mistake he made he had to reap. He did some reaping! But there was something
he realized—he cried, Don’t take your presence from me! Don’t take your Holy Spirit from me!
Please help me maintain! Keep in me a clean heart and a steadfast spirit—Lord please! I need
your help! I can’t do it on my own. But I know that my relationship with you is what is going to
maintain a pure heart. Keep me as the apple of your eye! Don’t let me go anywhere Lord. My
hope is in you. My strength is in you. When you go to God every day in this arena, you are
focusing on him and nothing else. You don’t go to Him and say Lord I need this…. You go to
Him and say, Lord I need YOU! Because when you have Him you have everything. The Lord is
your shepherd, you shall not want. Those who are in want is because they are not in position. If
you are in want it is because you are not in position. Because he does exceedingly abundantly
above all you could ever ask or think and he has come to bring life and life more abundantly.
Now it’s not going to come all at once. Why? Because he is going to use it to train you. It’s
time for training. It’s not time for preaching. It’s time for training. We are in a war and are
under the Commander and Chief of the Lord’s army. You are in the military and you are
soldiers and it’s time to start acting like them. Psalm 51, go to verse 12, Restore to me the joy of
Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your
ways, and sinners shall be converted to You. This is powerful! He’s saying, Keep my heart pure
Lord! And a steadfast spirit! Why? Because the joy will be constantly be maintained. God will

-4-
give you the ability to teach. He will give you wisdom. He did it in Exodus. The Spirit gave
him the ability to teach and he gave them the ability to build with wisdom. And he will do that
with you! Then you can convert others—In other words, you will bring them into God’s
presence and let God kill them and you don’t have to any longer. You will be a conductor in
God’s orchestra.

EZEKIEL 18:30-32
Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways,” says the Lord
GOD. “Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin.
Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new
heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in
the death of one who dies,” says the Lord GOD. “Therefore turn and live!” So it’s a good time
to repent. That means turn away. Learn. Turn and learn—and live. Why? So you can maintain
the presence of God. Because that’s what is happening right now. Maintaining the presence of
God.

EXODUS 35:4-9; 21
And Moses spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, “This is the thing
which the LORD commanded, saying: ‘Take from among you an offering to the LORD.
Whoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it as an offering to the LORD: gold, silver, and
bronze; blue, purple, and scarlet thread, fine linen, and goats’ hair; ram skins dyed red, badger
skins, and acacia wood; oil for the light, and spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet
incense; onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod and in the breastplate. Now I’m not
going to pass around a bucket—but what is he saying? A willing heart. It must start with a
willingness. There must be the beginning of a willingness to want to get a pure heart. To want
to get right with God. There must be a willingness. Go to verse 21, Then everyone came whose
heart was stirred, and everyone whose spirit was willing, and they brought the LORD’s offering
for the work of the tabernacle of meeting, for all its service, and for the holy garments. So there
was a willing spirit. In other words, if there was a willing heart, there is a willing spirit. Why?
Because the heart is the character of your Spirit. You will know whether you are contaminated
or not. So they were bringing an offering – and I’m not here to talk about offerings today – but
since it has been mentioned …. If you are not a tither, you can’t be blessed. You are a self-
blesser and it won’t last. Tithing protects your money. Offering increases it. That’s all I have to
say about that. So the first thing we must do is be disciplined to maintain a what? Pure heart. In
other words, discipline bypasses discernment. Why does it bypass discernment? Because you
must be in the Spirit to be able to discern. If you are not in the Spirit, you can’t discern.
Discipline is what assists us when you are not in the Spirit. So that you are going to do it, no
matter what! By being disciplined, you would be able to get in the Spirit. But if you are not
disciplined—The military, they get disciplined, don’t they. They’re disciplined. They discipline
themselves to do what they have to do every morning and whatever. They have to go through
stuff. They go through boot camp and whatever. They are disciplined—and believe me most of
them are not in the Spirit! At least in the carnal military. In the Lord’s military, you have to be
in the Spirit. So there is a discipline first. The first thing that must happen in your life is you
must be disciplined. Disciplined to what? Do what you are supposed to do. Whether you feel it
or you don’t. Discipline has nothing to do with what you feel. You get up in the morning, you
go shower, you make your coffee, you brush your teeth, you get something to eat, you get ready

-5-
—you are disciplined! You are disciplined every morning to do the same routine to get things
going. You don’t even think about it, you just get up and do it. Hopefully, you are getting up
and praying first—before you are feeding your flesh. So discipline is the first thing, by what? A
willing heart and a willing spirit.

HEBREWS 3:12-19
Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the
living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened
through the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the
beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, while it is said: “Today, if you will hear His
voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.” For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed,
was it not all who came out of Egypt [that means world] led by Moses? Now with whom was He
angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? And
to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? So we
see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. So their heart was hardened. It promoted
rebellion and it also promoted unbelief. It caused rebellion, unbelief, anxiousness, mistrust, fear,
and they didn’t enter the promised land. Where do you think we are at right now? Why do you
think God is pouring out his spirit? The scripture right now is about the ten virgins. That’s what
is happening right now—it’s manifesting. Those who are filled with the oil—why? Because the
bridegroom is coming for the bride. Five of the virgins were wise and five were idiots. The five
that were not right said to the five wise, Let us buy some of your oil. And they said, No. No—
you have to get it yourself. Why? Because time is too short now. That’s why God is drawing all
men unto him in a powerful, powerful way! It’s not a time to play games. It is a time to be
serious like you have never been before. Because the end result is standing before Him. If you
knew there was only a year left, what would you do? Would you be more concerned about your
job and some of the other stuff. No. You had better start thinking that way because I doubt there
is much time left. I doubt it. All the prophetic has been fulfilled, a couple of things are left. It’s
time. If we have seven years left, that’s wonderful. I said if. But there is not much time left.
We are in the latter days. Don’t be afraid because we are in the latter days because you don’t
belong here anyway. This is not your home. You are spirit. And you are an offspring of the
anointed one and his anointing. You don’t belong here! So quit trying to fight to stay here. Quit
trying to fight for your life. Surrender your life and let God establish it. It’s a lot easier. So the
first thing to be maintained is discipline. The second thing is to be grateful and thankful. To be
grateful and thankful! So you must discipline yourself to be grateful and thankful no matter
what. If you maintain being grateful and thankful you won’t be in want. You will shut the door
to the devil. If you are grumbling and complaining you are in want—and you’re not grateful.
And if you are finding things are messed up, then you have touched and agreed with something
and you must search it out and start breaking things and learning. You must learn. But you must
maintain an attitude of gratitude and gratefulness no matter what. If you find yourself grumbling
and complaining because you can’t do this and you want to do that—DIE. Quickly. Come out
of it. Quit fighting like you own something. You don’t own anything. It’s all His. This is
where we must come out of the world. This is where we must maintain that attitude of gratitude.
Thank you Lord! Thank you! It’s all yours. And whatever you choose to give me I thank you
and I will give praise to you. I will maintain praise and an attitude of gratitude and thankfulness.
Why? It takes the focus off of you and your circumstances—and especially your complaining.
If you will judge yourself and look at what’s coming out of your mouth—imagine if you wrote

-6-
down everything that’s coming out of your mouth that day and put it up there—whoo! You will
find out where your heart is at. You will find out whether it has been hardened. How many
times have you told God, That’s it, I’m done! Why? Because you didn’t get what you wanted.
Quit comparing yourself to anybody. Stop it. Don’t compare yourself to anybody. God is
comparing you to Him. Don’t worry about somebody getting blessed and don’t be envious of
those being blessed. Be grateful and thankful where you are at. And know that there is more.
Just stay in line. So the first one is be disciplined. The second one is be grateful and thankful.

EPHESIANS 5:18-19
And do not be drunk with wine in which is dissipation but be filled with the Spirit. He said be
filled with the Holy Spirit. It’s not about being drunk with carnal wine. It’s about being filled
with the Spirit of God. In verse 19, what happens—Speaking to one another in psalms and
hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord. Giving thanks
always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ submitting to one
another in the fear of God. This is powerful! So you must be spiritually positioned so that
worship is constantly running in you. So that you are constantly worshiping the Lord.
Hallelujah. Thank you Lord. Wherever I go—Hallelujah! Why? I’m making contact with the
other side. Praise you Lord! Thank you! The bible says acknowledge Him in all of your ways
and he will guide your path. Commit to him your works and he will establish your steps.
Speaking psalms, submitting to one another in the fear of God. God’s presence will always bring
reverence to Him. Fear. Every time. So that you will depart from evil. So that you won’t touch
unclean things. You will think twice about doing something stupid. But when you come in
agreement. When you touch and agree with something—the enemy already has access to you.
And the bible says we are to make no place for the devil. So the third thing is the position of
worship promotes humility. As you are a worshiper, you become humble. Not prideful.
Humility will nullify pride. You won’t try to figure it out, you will learn how to wait on God to
bring it to you. You won’t go ahead of God. You won’t be anxious. You will wait. You will
trust. You will surrender.

HEBREWS 10:24-25
And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the
assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so
much the more as you see the Day approaching. Wow! Don’t forsake to assemble. Why?
Because it causes accountability. If you are not accountable, you are not responsible.
Individuals that are not willing to be accountable are not responsible. If you can’t be
accountable to man, you can’t be accountable to God. That’s a deception. People say that they
will be accountable to God and yet they can’t be accountable for assembling—because that’s
what the bible says to do. Assemble. Why? Because that’s where your help is at. You go to the
house of God. But the house of God doesn’t become the house of God until God’s children
come in the house. Then it’s the house of God. Other than that this is just a shelter. Now it’s
the house of God. Why? Because God’s children are here. The angels are all around. They are
working on your behalf right now—and you have a legion of angels. There are protecting
angels. Angels trying to meet your needs. They have to wait until you get positioned before
they can move. Because the command comes from the Lord. When you get in position, God
starts commanding them—Go! He holds you with one hand and kicks the devil with the other
hand but you have got to get in position where he can hold you. That’s called positioning. You

-7-
have to get in position so he can hold you and then the other hand swings and slaps the devil,
moves the angels on your behalf—The next thing you know, the job you have been waiting for
doesn’t come through because another one better does. Something else happens. So the fourth
thing is the assembling of the saints which brings accountability.

3 JOHN 2-4
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper—Does God want you to prosper? Yes! In all things—Not
just material. It does no good to prosper materially if you can’t use it spiritually—or use it for
the kingdom of God. The first area he wants you to prosper in is spiritually. But he does want
you to prosper materially also. Why? So you can help build the kingdom of God—build
orphanages, rescue people—get the Word out! Feed, clothe and shelter. Open up discipleship
houses, whatever it is. Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just
as your soul prospers. Prosperity in the spirit is going to bring health to you. Your soul is your
mind, will and emotions. So those things must prosper—in other words, line up with the will of
God, which allows the flow of the anointing. The flow of blessings to come. For I rejoiced
greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth.
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. Why? Because truth sets you
free, doesn’t it. So now they are prospering because they have lined up according to the spirit of
God and according to the will of God. So you are to know the truth and walk by it. In other
words, you must have a desire to learn. Never think that you have learned enough. The moment
you think you have learned enough, you have fallen. The more you learn about the things of
God—revelation and rhema—the more you realize how big he is. And how much you don’t
know. When you get to a point where you think you know and you know enough, you are in
trouble. We must have a constant desire to always want to learn. A child’s heart is always
willing to learn and quick to forgive. The fifth thing is to always have a desire to learn.

HEBREWS 12:5-11
And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: “My son, do not despise
the chastening of the LORD, nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him—So if you feel
that today—if you feel chastened by the Lord today and you feel rebuked by the Lord, it’s cause
he loves you. For whom the LORD loves He chastens, and scourges every son whom He
receives.” If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there
whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become
partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. Furthermore, we have had human fathers who
corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the
Father of spirits and live? For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them,
but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. Now no chastening seems to be
joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of
righteousness to those who have been trained by it. So your chastening is going to train you.
You are being trained right now by the chastening of the Lord. What happens though, is that as
God chastens individuals, they run! That’s it, I’m not taking it anymore! I’m done! I’m
packing! I’m leaving! I, I, I … That’s it, I’m finding another church! They hop from church to
church to church to church. And every time they get chastened, they run. See you can’t outrun
the chastening of the Lord either. You can’t out run the devil and you can’t out run the
chastening of the Lord. You must turn around and fight the devil and you must turn around and
submit to God. Submit! And resist the devil! So receive the chastening of the Lord with joy.

Thank you Lord! David said it—he said, Lord though you slay me, I will still praise you! Don’t
run from God’s chastening.

EPHESIANS 5:8-17
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the
fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to
the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.
Let me share something with you, stop hanging around with those who are unruly. What does a
child of God have to do with a child of the devil. If you know someone that is claiming to be a
believer and they are not walking right, don’t hang with them! Why? Bad company corrupts
good habits. You are to hang around with those who have a pure heart after God. And have no
fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. Expose them! It blows
my mind how people—because they are caught up soulishly—that they hang around with those
that are committing fornication—drunkards—saying, Oh they are my good friend! No, they are
an enemy to God! And if they are God’s enemy they are yours. Why? Because they are a friend
of the world. If you are a friend of the world, you are an enemy of God. God’s not the enemy,
you’re His enemy! You are to come out from among them. You are to expose the garbage. And
you do it in love. I’m sorry man, we were friends but I can’t hang with you. No, I’m not going
to come over and watch football at your house while you drink and think I’m going to make it.
While you’re living with this girl and this girl is living with you and you want me to come out
and fellowship with you—no, no, no! That’s not going to happen! Or you want me to bless you
while you are in fornication. Or you’re living with somebody or whatever and you want the
blessings of the Lord. Let me tell you it will be stolen immediately. You are not to have
fellowship—why? Because you are to maintain a pure heart! I don’t care what the devil has
convinced you with, you are either obedient to this word or you are not. You are either obedient
or you are not. There is no gray area. It’s either light or darkness. One or the other. Let’s read
that one more time – verse 11, And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but
rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in
secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes
manifest is light. Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.”
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the
days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. So the
seventh thing is to have no fellowship with darkness. None. If someone is not right with God,
they are darkness.

Maintaining a pure heart. That’s where we are at. The enemy wants to defile your heart.

NOTES: Maintaining a Pure Heart

Maintaining a pure heart is what will keep God’s presence.

There are areas where you can begin to test yourself and tell where your heart has become
hardened. Number one is rebellion. Are you rebellious? Well then your heart is hard.
Submission to authority – on every level. Anything less is rebellion. Not wearing a
seatbelt is rebellion. Something as small as not putting your grocery cart back where the
store asks that it be returned to is indicative of rebellion. The enemy only needs a crack.
A little leaven. If I am not under authority I will have no authority. If I have no authority
I can’t take dominion. And then will have no victory. It’s rebellion in the heart. Am I
obedient/submitting to authority even when no one is looking. Am I doing what my boss
has asked even when he is not around—even when he would not know one way or
another? Am I submitted to the authority God has placed me under. Am I doing things
my way or the way I have been asked to do something? Jesus was completely and totally
submitted to the Father on every level – He did what he saw the Father do. He walked in
perfect obedience and because he walked in perfect obedience and submission to the
Father, he walked in perfect power, authority, having dominion over everything. If
I am not submitting or rebellious on any level that means self is too much alive. My
wants/desires to do things my way is too alive. I must be dead to self—completely
submitting to the God and the authority he has placed me under.

The only way to maintain his presence is to keep your heart from becoming hardened.

The Spirit is the foundation of your life. That means your relationship with the Lord, in the
Spirit, is your foundation.

Your heart is the character of your spirit. That’s why the bible says out of your mouth speaks
your heart. That lets you know whether your spirit is contaminated or not.
What comes out of my mouth defines me. Spirit = breath – what I speak matters. It is
one of the fruits from the garden of my heart. What I have sown in my heart – allowed in
my gates—the seed that I have allowed to take root in my heart will determine what
comes out of my mouth.

Did he tell you that you couldn’t do something? Did you agree that you couldn’t—when the
bible says you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. When the bible says He
who is in me is greater than he who is in the world and says I’m more than a conqueror! He is
placing his image in you when you come into agreement with it. Then you become a slave to
him. Then we fight and wonder what’s going on. Why am I doing what I’m doing? Because
you have come into agreement with the voice of the stranger.
I must operate in the belief system of the new man only. What defines me is only who
and what Christ says I am and have in Him. Nothing else. I must replace all corruptible
seeds with who I AM in Christ. I can’t get lazy in examining my thoughts – or my
motives.

- 10 -
So when you touch and agree with him he has legal access to come and steal, to come and
kill and to come and destroy. You are allowing it!! God says, My people are destroyed for
lack of knowledge. Why? Because you don’t know how to fight. You are playing religion.
Religion won’t save you! You have to take out the Holy Ghost bazooka! You cannot out
run the devil. You must turn around and fight him face to face. Or else he will take
dominion in your house, in your heart and in your mind.

The bible tells us that the Spirit tells us all things and guides us into all truth. So if you are truly
listening you are ahead of the devil.
But I won’t hear correctly unless I am clean. I won’t be able to even if I try. I must be
clean and sanctified to hear and discern correctly.

Now let me share with you, one of the great enemies against a pure heart is pride. P.R.I.D.E.
Personal reverence into a deadly end. It’s a killer. Most people don’t even know when they
are involved in pride. You fight pride every day. With every decision you make, pride is there.
Remember pride protects self. Fear protects pride. Anger protects fear.

Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. In other words, if you can’t submit to God, you can’t
resist the devil. There are people trying to kick the devil out of their house and he doesn’t have
to go. Why? Because there has not been submission to God yet.

YOU CANNOT REMOVE THE POWERS OF DARKNESS FROM YOU

UNTIL YOU SUBMIT TO GOD.

When you go to God every day in this arena, you are focusing on HIM and nothing else. You
don’t go to Him and say Lord I need this…. You go to Him and say, Lord I need YOU! Because
when you have Him you have everything. The Lord is your shepherd, you shall not want. Those
who are in want is because they are not in position.
Focus and attention must be on God – never on man or the pastor/teacher. God must
always be the focus – NOTHING in between. Otherwise, idolatry—because we magnify
what we focus on. there is no manipulation in a pure heart. there is no control in a pure
heart. there is never a manpleasing spirit in a pure heart. Because in a pure heart are
no idols. At the base of manipulation, control and a manpleasing spirit is always fear.
Where there is fear - there will be idols. fear of losing someone or something.
Sometimes this is so deeply rooted and camouflaged so well that the presence of these
demons take precedence of the host’s actual character. The person is so convinced that
the familiar spirits are actually who they are and they think it’s just part of their
personality and they are unable to separate themselves long enough to even examine what
is really motivating them. The host begins to justify and reason away thought patterns,
emotional attachments and behavior that are actually the fruit of what’s really operating.
The demons operating in the host use the tremendous fear that is so carefully
masked, making the host capable of just about anything so as not to lose the position
it thinks it has in the heart of the idol it looks to in lieu of God. the host thinks they
look to God, but the fruit being produced tells a different story. the focus being on the
man/or idol and not on God. There is no pure heart in one who allows a manpleasing
spirit, manipulation and control to operate within them. He who has clean hands and a

- 11 -
pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully. Ignorance is
no excuse. we are to constantly examine who and what is motivating our spirit at all
times. There must be nothing in between me and God. What is motivating me even now.

the host needs a lot of prayer - prayer for the host to want deliverance. because the only
way to truly be free is if they really want to be free as these demons are so strong. but
then again, if confronted and they say they desire freedom, what is the motive -- free to
please God and have nothing before Him - or free to please man? if it is to be free to
please man - the motive is still not pure. the host needs prayer. my motive is a desire for
truth and for my own sight to remain clear. with the sight comes a responsibility with
what I am given to see. I must separate the person from the demon continually. Blessing
the person and being polite to the person, doesn’t mean I am blind to, condone or in any
way pet the evil operating within them. There is no idolatry in a pure heart. A pure
heart does not manage demons of any kind, disguised in any way.

Discipline bypasses discernment. Why does it bypass discernment? Because you must be in the
Spirit to be able to discern. If you are not in the Spirit, you can’t discern. Discipline is what
assists us when you are not in the Spirit. So that you are going to do it, no matter what! By
being disciplined, you would be able to get in the Spirit.

Don’t forsake to assemble. Why? Because it causes accountability. If you are not accountable,
you are not responsible. Individuals that are not willing to be accountable are not
responsible. If you can’t be accountable to man, you can’t be accountable to God. That’s a
deception. People say that they will be accountable to God and yet they can’t be accountable for
assembling—because that’s what the bible says to do. Assemble. Why? Because that’s where
your help is at. You go to the house of God. But the house of God doesn’t become the house of
God until God’s children come in the house. Then it’s the house of God. Other than that this is
just a shelter. Now it’s the house of God. Why? Because God’s children are here.

In other words, you must have a desire to learn. Never think that you have learned enough.
The moment you think you have learned enough, you have fallen. The more you learn about the
things of God—revelation and rhema—the more you realize how big he is. And how much you
don’t know.
A teachable spirit is humble. A humble spirit is always teachable.

You can’t out run the devil and you can’t out run the chastening of the Lord. You must turn
around and fight the devil and you must turn around and submit to God. Submit! And resist the
devil! So receive the chastening of the Lord with joy.
Stand/endure. No matter what.

Bad company corrupts good habits. You are to hang around with those who have a pure heart
after God. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.
SANCTIFICATION.
