TRUE MINISTRIES CHURCH

VESSEL OF HONOR

JEREMIAH 18:1-11
The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying: “Arise and go down to the potter’s
house, and there I will cause you to hear My words.” He said I was cause you to hear my words.
Sometimes God has to cause us to hear his words because we are not listening. Circumstances
come about because we are not hearing God. Emotions will lead you astray. Thoughts will lead
you astray. What you see will lead you astray. What you hear will lead you astray. If you are
not grounded in the word. No matter what happens it must associate back to the word of God.
That’s why he said go down to the potter’s house and I will cause you to hear my word. Well
that kind of sounds strange. Why would you go to the potter’s house to hear God’s word? But
that’s what the Lord said. Go down to the potter’s house and this is where you will hear my
word. Sometimes we have to get to a place where there is nothing that we can do but hear God’s
word. It’s not just about his written word. It’s not always just about the voice of his word. It’s
about the impression of his word also. God brings us counsel, correction and direction. He does
it sometimes by impression, by circumstance, by his word, or by the voice of his Spirit. Of
course, we know by gifts and so forth. But here he said, Listen I’ve got to cause you to hear my
word! I’ve got to cause you to. Verse 3, Then I went down to the potter’s house, and there he
was, making something at the wheel. The wheel is a representation of the Holy Spirit. In the
book of Ezekiel you will read about Ezekiel seeing the tabernacle of God in heaven. He sees the
wheels within the wheels. The wheels were the representation of the Spirits of the creatures.
The living creatures. So the wheel represents the Spirit. So when he says there he was making
something at the wheel. We know the wheel as something that the potter turns with the clay.
But the wheel in the Spirit means the Holy Spirit. Because nothing is done without the Holy
Spirit. Verse 4, And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he
made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make. So we see sometimes
as God is molding us that we want to step off that wheel. If you look at the wheel spin and the
potter with the clay in his hands—can you imagine yourself being that clay being spun and then
all of a sudden you are sticking your hand out—WHOA!! That would kind of mar it. Instead of
being a vessel you would end up looking like a coffee mug! What happens is that when we start
putting our self into the working of the hand of God, instead of the hand of God working in us,
the vessel gets marred. That’s why it is so important to get out of the way. Did you ever notice
that when you are trying to do something so hard and finally it frustrates you. You finally say,
That’s it! I give up! And God says, That’s right. I wish you would have done that a long time
ago! Get back on the wheel and let me finish what I’m doing. Verse 5, Then the word of the
LORD came to me, saying: “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?” says the
LORD. “Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel!
Now we are the same way. The instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom,
to pluck up, to pull down, and to destroy it, if that nation against whom I have spoken turns from
its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I thought to bring upon it. That he what? Thought to
bring upon it. So God is always trying to hold back his judgment. He is always trying to hold
back his wrath. So what is he doing? He is causing us to go to the potter’s house so that we
would hear his words so that it would prevent you and me from experiencing the wrath of God.
And the instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it,

-1-
if it does evil in My sight so that it does not obey My voice—Now we went from word to voice.
then I will relent concerning the good with which I said I would benefit it. Now if we turn our
ways from evil. So we see here the first thing he says is that you will hear my word—now he
says you will hear my voice. “Now therefore, speak to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants
of Jerusalem, saying, ‘Thus says the LORD: “Behold, I am fashioning a disaster and devising a
plan against you. Return now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings
good.”’” Do you know why he wants us to do these things? So that we can become vessels of
honor. Vessels of honor—and that’s what we are talking about tonight. We all want to become
vessels of honor. We need to be a vessel of honor so that we can bring glory to his name and
expand his kingdom.

JOHN 2:1-11
On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.
Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. And when they ran out of wine,
the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.” Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does
your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.” We know that Jesus turned
around and called his mom “woman.” She was no longer his mom. Jesus was no longer the son
of Mary, he was the son of God. He turned around and said, Woman! No longer mother. When
he said this to her, she realized that his time had come. His mother said to the servants,
“Whatever He says to you, do it.” She turned around to the servants and said, Listen, I know this
is not my son any longer. This is the son of God. Whatever he says, do! Because there is
something about to happen here. Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to
the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. Now six
means man. So there were these stone vessels. Big, holding 20 or 30 gallons. Jesus said to
them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. Water is a
representation of God’s word—because it says be washed with the word of God. 8 And He said
to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it. 9 When
the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came
from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew)—Who knew? The servants. The master
of the feast called the bridegroom. And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the
good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine
until now!” Representing the Holy Spirit. In other words, the Holy Spirit was about to get
poured out. The vessel of a man was about to change. God was about to birth, through Jesus,
vessels of honor. This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His
glory; and His disciples believed in Him. Hallelujah. So this was the first miracle that Jesus
actually did that is recorded that we know of. And it is the first miracle, which is the greatest
miracle, and that is to be born again. It is symbolic and parallel to being born again. It’s no
coincidence that the next chapter is talking about new birth because Jesus’ first miracle was
about new birth.

JOHN 3:1-5
There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to
Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi—Now we know if you are a Pharisee you don’t come to
another man and call him Rabbi, which means teacher. It would be a dishonor to the Pharisees
because they were known as Rabbi’s and only them. We know that You are a teacher come from
God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.” Jesus answered and

-2-
said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom
of God.” Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a
second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to
you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. Now what
happened? They filled that vessel with what? Water. And then it turned to wine. Representing
a vessel of honor. Now if there are vessels of honor we know that there are vessels of dishonor.
We don’t want to be vessels of dishonor

ROMANS 9:17-24
For the Scripture says to the Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may
show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth.” Therefore He has
mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens. You will say to me then, “Why does
He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?” But indeed, O man, who are you to reply
against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, “Why have you made me like
this?” How many times have we asked God why he made us the way he did. Does not the
potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another
for dishonor? What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured
with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, and that He might make
known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for
glory, even us whom He called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles? We see here that
there are vessels unto honor and unto dishonor. But it’s not that God automatically makes one
for dishonor and one for honor—No. Because the Lord gives us a free will. So when someone
chooses not to do the will of God, they become a vessel of dishonor. So God uses that. He used
Pharaoh for that also. So not knowing his will brings about wrath and knowing his will but
disobeying it will also bring his wrath. One of the most terrible things in a believer is when he or
she chooses not to do the will of God. When people backslide, they have enough God in them
that there is torment. Not being in God’s will is torment. And other people see it. They see it
and wonder what happened. This person used to do this and that—what happened. Now they
acknowledge you as a dishonored vessel. We want to be vessels of honor. Understand that
everyone has the desire to be a vessel of honor. We all have that desire within us. Whether or
not we choose to obey the rules to become a vessel of honor is another thing. To be an honored
vessel you have to be submissive to all things. When you polish brass or you polish something
shiny—you’ll notice that the more polishing you give it, the more it shines. That’s what God
does with us. He buffs us up! I remember when I was in the Spirit worshiping one day and I
saw the Lord pick up a child by the hair and begin to scrub. Because the child was moving so
much and he didn’t want to interfere with his scrubbing so the Lord held the child by the hair and
began to scrub and scrub and scrub and scrub and scrub!!

MATTHEW 3:1-12
In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, and saying, “Repent,
for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah,
saying: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the LORD; Make His
paths straight.’” Now John himself was clothed in camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his
waist; and his food was locusts and wild honey. Then Jerusalem, all Judea, and all the region
around the Jordan went out to him and were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their
sins. But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to

-3-
them, “Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? They were the
religious leaders. He knew what their positions were. Because they were leading people astray.
In fact, when Jesus came he rebuked them. He said, Oh you dress really nice. You sit in the
front seats. You go to the nicest restaurants. You do all your prayers in front of people. But
behind closed doors you are ravenous wolves. You care nothing about morality. The only thing
you care about is your position. We can never fall into that. We can never fall into that because
that’s known as religion. Religion. Church-goers. Forgetting about the mercies and the grace of
God. Getting caught up. They become dishonored vessels. Verse 8, Therefore bear fruits
worthy of repentance, and do not think to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’
For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. And even
now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is
cut down and thrown into the fire. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who
is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize
you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly
clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff
with unquenchable fire.” Some of us need to get the chaff off of us so that we can become that
honored vessel. Some of us need to get a new wineskin. Did you ever see a snake shed its skin?
Remember when we shared before that our flesh is the seed of the serpent—we need to shed
some skin! Hallelujah. So we see that these religious leaders are church-goers headed toward
the wrath of God. Sin brings wrath. You need to have the Holy Ghost and you need to have
fellowship in the Holy Spirit. You need to have fellowship in the Holy Spirit to maintain being a
vessel of honor. Once you begin to reject the Holy Spirit—understand that we know when we
begin to reject what the Holy Spirit is doing. Because he brings conviction.

GALATIANS 5:19-22
A vessel of honor. People know us by our fruit. They know whether you are a believer. How
many times have you run into someone and said, Man, I know that person is a believer. And
then you will be talking with someone and you’ll say, Man, that person is a believer???? Verse
19. These are fruits of a dishonored vessel. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are:
adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies,
outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness,
revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that
those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. That’s pretty plain and
simple. These are the fruits of a vessel of dishonor.

1 THESSALONIANS 4:1-8
Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and
more—That you should abound more meaning that you should go after more and more. Not less
and less. In other words, the things that you have learned already you should be able to put to
work and learn more. And put that to work—and learn more. Just as you received from us how
you ought to walk and to please God. He is saying we are to learn to walk more and more and
please God. We ought to be able to put these things into action. For you know what
commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus. For this is the will of God, your
sanctification [which means separate, set aside] that you should abstain from sexual immorality.
That means in thought also. That each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in
sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God. He is

-4-
saying, Man, if you begin to do things like that then you don’t know God. You are acting like
those who don’t know God. Verse 6, That no one should take advantage of and defraud his
brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you
and testified. For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness. Therefore he who rejects
this does not reject man, but God, who has also given us His Holy Spirit. Only the Holy Spirit
brings sanctification. He gives you and me the power to be separate unto the Lord. When we
begin to reject that we are rejecting God. Reject God and become a dishonored vessel. Obey
God become an honored vessel.

PROVERBS 15:33
The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom—In other words, if you don’t have reverence
for the Lord, you are not going to get any instruction. The fear means reverence for God. If you
don’t have reverence for Him—that’s why we have to go to the potter’s house. Because if we
don’t have reverence for Him, we are not listening. Now look at the other part of this. And
before honor is humility. So we must be humble to be a vessel of honor. There are no prideful
vessels of honor.

PROVERBS 26:1
As snow in summer and rain in harvest, So honor is not fitting for a fool. So a dishonored vessel
is known as a fool. Daddy doesn’t play any games in his word! Honor is not fitting for a fool.

2 CORINTHIANS 4:7-10
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels—Now what is the treasure in these earthen vessels?
The Holy Spirit. The bible says do you not know that you are the temple of the Holy Spirit But
we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not
of us. That lets you know of the honor of the vessel—the power of the Spirit and not of us. Let’s
go on. We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— always carrying about in the
body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. I
know sometimes it feels like we have just been crucified. There are times when I say, Lord… I
don’t want to see anymore humans!!! Including myself! I don’t want to see myself in the mirror
again!! Quickly change us!! Get us out of here! Enough is enough. Because why? I’ve been
hard pressed. Persecuted. But not forsaken. Beat up. But not dead. Thrown down. But picked
up again. We have this treasure in these earthen vessels known as the Holy Spirit. He dwells
within us and He is what makes you a vessel of honor.

HEBREWS 9:16-22
For where there is a testament, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a
testament is in force after men are dead, since it has no power at all while the testator lives.
Therefore not even the first covenant was dedicated without blood. For when Moses had spoken
every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and goats, with
water, scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, saying,
“This is the blood of the covenant which God has commanded you.” Then likewise he sprinkled
with blood both the tabernacle and all the—what? Vessels of the ministry. And according to the
law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no
remission. Understand that. That is why it is so important for you and I to apply the blood of

-5-
Jesus—because we are those vessels. We are the vessels of the tabernacle of God—known as
the body of Christ. Plead the blood of Jesus on those vessels!

REVELATION 1:5-6
And from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the
kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has
made us kings—what does a king mean? A warrior. And priests to His God and Father, to Him
be glory and dominion forever and ever. So you and are called to be priests and kings. That’s a
representation of an honorable vessel. Vessels of Honor. People tremble when they come before
our King.

HOSEA 4:6
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also
will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also
will forget your children. A dishonored vessel. One who rejects the knowledge of the Lord.
Let’s not reject the knowledge of the Lord so we can maintain being a vessel of honor.

ACTS 9:10-16
Saul who became Paul in the new testament, was a Pharisee. The man knew the law! He was so
bound by the law that he forgot everything else. In the eyes of God he was a dishonored vessel
but in his own eyes he was an honorable vessel. He actually believed he was killing for God.
This is where we have to be careful because we may be thinking we are doing things for God
when he is saying, Get out of the way! Bonehead! Which means carnal mind. Even though it
may be a good intention and look right, it might not be God! For you. It might not be God for
you. The Lord might have something else planned and we are interfering with it. So even
though it may look good and you may want to be the good Samaritan, may be the Lord is dealing
with that individual and doesn’t want you to be the good Samaritan that day. That’s why you
must have fellowship in the Spirit. Sometimes the person hasn’t gotten low enough. Like giving
money to a drug addict and not letting that person get where he or she needs to be. That’s why
we must be led by the Spirit of God. Even though it may look good and their might be a need
there, but we have to be wise. You know when you are out and about and someone asks you for
money—they say to buy food. The Lord may say don’t give them any money. He might even
say, don’t buy them anything as he is lying. Or he might say buy him something. Or whatever.
Mom and I were driving home one day and it was powerful—a good testimony. The Lord told
me that morning to get a newspaper. I had no idea why. And we were driving home. Coming
around the corner was a guy running back and forth—running back and forth to cars. I said,
Lord… And the Lord said, That’s why I had you buy a newspaper. I said, Why? He said, Give
him the want ads. So I came around the corner and the guy came up to me and I handed him
want ads and said, God bless you. He did not like that! Mom said, Guy did you read the sign he
had there? I said, No. It read dying of stomach cancer. I said the Lord didn’t tell me that. I said
that man is lying. So the Lord told me to give him the want ads. So I did. But I am sharing with
you that is why it is important to have fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Because the devil would
like to take you out in the soulish realm. Then you will be a deceived vessel instead of an
honored vessel. Anyway, so Saul who became Paul was a vessel of dishonor who thought he
was killing for God. Chapter 9, the Lord appeared to Ananias in a vision. Go to verse 10. Now
there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias; and to him the Lord said in a vision,

-6-
“Ananias.” And he said, “Here I am, Lord.” So the Lord said to him, “Arise and go to the
street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for one called Saul of Tarsus, for
behold, he is praying. And in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and putting
his hand on him, so that he might receive his sight.” I love that!! Then Ananias answered,
“Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he has done to Your saints in
Jerusalem. And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on Your name.”
But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before
Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel. For I will show him how many things he must suffer
for My name’s sake.” The Lord rescued you and I to be an honored vessel. Just like he rescued
Saul who became Paul. There are things God requires us to do so we can maintain being an
honorable vessel.

MALACHI 1:6-10
When I went into the boy scouts (as long as they had me in there) there was a code you had to
remember. If you remembered this code you were a vessel of honor. Being a boy scout was a
representation of being a vessel of honor. They had us memorize certain things about being a
vessel of honor. I still remember it. It goes like this: A boy scout was trustworthy, loyal,
helpful, friendly, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent. That was known as
an honored vessel. If you think about it, that represents where we should be today. We should
be trustworthy, we should be loyal, friendly, courteous, kind and so forth. Obedient. Reverent—
reverent unto God! When we begin to come out of those things, and fall short of those things we
become a dishonored vessel. Certain things lead us into becoming a dishonored vessel. One of
the things is lack of fellowship. Lack of prayer. Lack of getting in the Spirit. See you can have
fellowship and you can have prayer and never get in the Spirit. Lack of the word. Lack of
repentance. Verse 6, A son honors his father, And a servant his master. If then I am the Father,
Where is My honor? And if I am a Master, Where is My reverence? Says the LORD of hosts To
you priests who despise My name. Yet you say, ‘In what way have we despised Your name?’
“You offer defiled food on My altar, But say, In what way have we defiled You?’ By saying,
‘The table of the LORD is contemptible.’ And when you offer the blind as a sacrifice, Is it not
evil? And when you offer the lame and sick, Is it not evil? Offer it then to your governor! Would
he be pleased with you? Would he accept you favorably?” Says the LORD of hosts. We must
discern what is honorable and what is not honorable as an offering to the Lord. Let me explain
this way. When we get into a place, especially with worship—How do we approach the Lord in
worship? He says you come to me with just lip service and not with heart service. That’s
dishonor. When we worship the Lord, I know that sometimes we have to go through a song or
two, but he makes way for you and I to worship him in truth and spirit. And when we begin to
just give him lip service without heart service, it’s dishonor. We are not honoring him.

1 KINGS 17:8-14
Then the word of the LORD came to him, saying, “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to
Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.” So he arose
and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, indeed a widow was there
gathering sticks. And he called to her and said, “Please bring me a little water in a cup, that I
may drink.” And as she was going to get it, he called to her and said, “Please bring me a
morsel of bread in your hand.” So she said, “As the LORD your God lives, I do not have bread,
only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks

-7-
that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die.” Because
there was a famine going on. And Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said,
but make me a small cake from it first—Now he was really stretching her out. And bring it to
me; and afterward make some for yourself and your son. What was happening—an offering of
something to God first. For thus says the LORD God of Israel: ‘The bin of flour shall not be
used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the LORD sends rain on the earth.’” What
was he doing? He was emptying her of herself. We must be emptied of our self so that we can
be refilled with Him. I remember Catherine Coolman said one time, I die a thousand deaths
before I come out on this platform. Totally emptied of herself. We must learn to empty our self
so that we can be filled with Him to become a vessel of honor. Matthew 16 is a parallel to this
also.

MATTHEW 16:24-26
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and
take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever
loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world,
and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? So we must deny
ourselves. The only we you and I can pick up our cross—which is when you pick up your cross
you are honoring the Lord and you become a vessel of honor. Because why? You are denying
yourself.

EZEKIEL 22:26
Remember we are called to be priests and kings. Her priests have violated My law and profaned
My holy things; they have not distinguished between the holy and unholy, nor have they made
known the difference between the unclean and the clean; and they have hidden their eyes from
My Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them. You and I must know the difference between
clean and unclean is and what holy and unholy is. That’s why we are not to be unevenly yoked
with these things. That’s why we are not to be entangled with the things of the world. People
are looking toward you, as an honored vessel, for direction. They are looking toward you! The
world is looking for guidance from somebody. They are going to come to you when they see
that Christ is formed in you. The honored vessel. Jesus was the great honored vessel. What a
tremendous vessel of honor he was. And people went to Jesus, didn’t they. You and I must
maintain this vessel of honor so that people can get direction. They are going to see what your
fruits are—they are going to look at you. They are going to know whether you are a vessel of
honor or not. So we must know what is clean and unclean and what is holy and unholy.

1 PETER 5:6-11
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,
casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your
adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him,
steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in
the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after
you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and
the dominion forever and ever. Amen. So suffering perfects what? A vessel of honor.

-8-
EPHESIANS 4:17-24
This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the
Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated
from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their
heart; who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness
with greediness. But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have
been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct,
the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of
your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true
righteousness and holiness. Walk in the new man.

JUDE 16-21
These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great
swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage. But you, beloved, remember the words
which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: how they told you that there
would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. These
are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit—the Holy Spirit or not having
fellowship with the Holy Spirit. But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy
faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our
Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. So we must build ourselves up. The bible says stir
yourselves up and grab hold of God. Stir yourself up.

JEREMIAH 26:8-15
Now it happened, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that the LORD had
commanded him to speak to all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people
seized him, saying, “You will surely die! Obviously, they didn’t like what he said! Why have
you prophesied in the name of the LORD, saying, ‘This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city
shall be desolate, without an inhabitant’?” And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah
in the house of the LORD. When the princes of Judah heard these things, they came up from the
king’s house to the house of the LORD and sat down in the entry of the New Gate of the LORD’s
house. And the priests and the prophets spoke to the princes and all the people, saying, “This
man deserves to die! Listen, the priests and the prophets—well Jeremiah was known as a
prophet. His brothers were coming against him. Because the Lord told him to do something.
For he has prophesied against this city, as you have heard with your ears.” Then Jeremiah
spoke to all the princes and all the people, saying: “The LORD sent me to prophesy against this
house and against this city with all the words that you have heard. Now therefore, amend your
ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; then the LORD will relent
concerning the doom that He has pronounced against you. As for me, here I am, in your hand;
do with me as seems good and proper to you. But know for certain that if you put me to death,
you will surely bring innocent blood on yourselves, on this city, and on its inhabitants; for truly
the LORD has sent me to you to speak all these words in your hearing.” He didn’t fear. He said,
What can man do to me! He didn’t fear.

2 TIMOTHY 2:20-26
So no matter what you are going through right now, God is buffing you. He is buffing you to be
the vessel of honor. Don’t fear. Stand. Come out from among them. Don’t get entangled.
Don’t take the bait. Stay away. Depart from evil. Don’t give glory to creation, give glory to the
creator. The bible says there are things that are lawful but not helpful. Just because it’s not sin
doesn’t mean it’s helpful. You have to be careful because what may seem good may not be
helpful. And if it’s not helpful it may turn into sin. Verse 20, But in a great house there are not
only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for
dishonor. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor,
sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. Who cleanses you? We do.
We do it!! You must cleanse yourself! By what you speak. By what you do. The bible says
separate yourself. If you are yielding to the Holy Spirit, believe me he is leading you to these
things to do. Verse 21 again, Therefore if anyone cleanses himself—Himself. It doesn’t say that
God cleanses you. It says if anyone cleanses himself which means we have a choice. From the
latter—that means all the old ways. The old stinking thinking. The old conniving. The old
mouth. The old attitude. The old desires. All the old ways. Verse 22, Flee also youthful lusts;
but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. And a servant of the
Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those
who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the
truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been
taken captive by him to do his will. I encourage everyone—become a vessel of honor. A simple
teaching but a good reminder.
